Good luck with that.
Hopefully, the last Tory PM.
Ever.

Ated · 24/07/2019 18:07

Well done Boris, just what we need instead of that useless May, and all the other Remainers that this country can do without.
Don't wait until October, get out on Monday and tell the EU where they can stick any deal.

davidbritten65 · 24/07/2019 18:07

He said we will leave on October 31st...Brexit is undeliverable so the only way he can deliver it will be to call a GE and do a deal with the Brexit Party to get more leave MPs elected. Scary times.

BonnesVacances · 24/07/2019 18:07

we are STILL farting about, suffering all the economic uncertainty caused, not by Brexit (because it HASN'T HAPPENED yet in case you haven't noticed) but by the Remainer Establishment stopping the democratic decision being honoured.

It's the ERG who should be held responsible for rejecting the withdrawal agreement. Anyone still claiming it's the fault of the Remainers are showing their inability to have independent thought and are simply parroting the narrative they're being spoon fed. Hmm

Link heree* for anyone interested in FACTS.

Pebbles574 · 24/07/2019 18:08

The comparisons with Trump aren't valid beyond the blonde mop really.

I'm not a Boris fan, but he's not ignorant and stupid like Trump. He's actually highly academic (but lazy on the hard work and detail).

Whether you like him or not, he does have a certain charisma which seems to charm some people and get them on board (a skill Teresa May woefully lacked).

davidbritten65 · 24/07/2019 18:09

Nice for you to think about your children and children's future.. Even leavers admit that a no deal brexit will result in a recession. Absolute madness.

Reallyevilmuffin · 24/07/2019 18:09

Happy. As remainders often stated now someone who was on the leave side has finally got the power. We will be able to see how he manages now.

SirGawain · 24/07/2019 18:10

All of the swear words, twice at least!

MrsBadcrumble123 · 24/07/2019 18:17

Who would want the job anyway plus I’m just praying Corbin/Abbott never get in! Now that would really be a disaster!!

Zenith123 · 24/07/2019 18:17

It's ludicrous that 140,000 people in the UK have done this to us. The electoral system is a mess. I am very, very worried that this unprincipled cheat is now PM. God knows what will happen next, but it won't be good.

mrsdeedow · 24/07/2019 18:18

So, anyone want to club together for a rocket to Kepler-452b?

SouthChinaSea234 · 24/07/2019 18:19

@Zenith
Labour did the same when Gordon Brown succeeded Blair. The system may need reforming but you cant blame political parties for following the established rules.

sockatoe · 24/07/2019 18:20

This is why the civil service and House of Lords are the ones actually in charge. I fear BJ less than JH though

AlbertWinestein · 24/07/2019 18:23

This has been the writing on the wall ever since the Brexit vote. Too cowardly to lead back then (and his lies too recently exposed), he made May the sacrificial lamb while he stood back and waited. He really makes me sick.

Pebbles574 · 24/07/2019 18:26

Zenith123 140,000 people in the UK haven't done it to us

  • it's just the way the electoral system currently is. However much the media like to hype it up with televised debates etc, the fact is that we don't have a presidential system (thank god!) and nobody directly votes for a Prime Minister (except, their constituents and the party members).
The80sweregreat · 24/07/2019 18:28

Boris has played the long game here.

It's very clever and cunning and 90,000 members fell for it. Now his promising the world on a plate.

merrymouse · 24/07/2019 18:28

not by Brexit (because it HASN'T HAPPENED yet in case you haven't noticed) but by the Remainer Establishment stopping the democratic decision being honoured

Not true. If it weren't for the ERG we would have left by now.

justswanning · 24/07/2019 18:29

How can Patel be home sec???

I work in an investment bank and for bankers to be allowed to do their roles they have to be "certified" as fit and proper. Fit and proper assessments consider:

  • competence and capability
  • honesty, integrity and reputation
  • financial soundness.

Surely the leaders of our country should be held to at least the same standards???

Cinammoncake · 24/07/2019 18:29

If only we could all leave and let you get on with your 'little England' project. But you've denied us 27 countries we would have been able to settle in so we're all stuck here. You with your superior attitude based on zero evidence. Us with the reality check and the wealth of evidence you don't want to hear. You're not only fucking yourselves over, you'll bring the rest of the country down with you.

Dilovescake21 · 24/07/2019 18:30

I actually joined the Conservative party so that I would be able to vote in a leadership contest as I couldn't stand the thought of that idiot Johnson becoming PM. Unfortunately I know realise that the party membership is made up of a bunch of complete muppets who cannot see through the utter shit that comes out of that man's mouth. I won't renew my membership. How a man who describes some Muslim women as "letterboxes" becomes PM is unbelievable. And as for that utter cock up when dealing with Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe ...dont get me started. I'm bloody livid.

ForalltheSaints · 24/07/2019 18:31

So far only one good thing. Chris Grayling is no longer Transport Secretary.

The worst government minister of them all will not be in the cabinet of the worst Prime Minister of them all.

NoLeopard · 24/07/2019 18:31

I wish people would stop dissing Corbyn. As we know from today, you elect a party not a leader. The Labour Party needs to go back to its roots and declare for a welfare society with education, NHS and emergency services investment a top priority. Yes, there will have to be tax increases, but worth it in my book. Maybe then there will be an alternative to the current state of affairs,

Theoldwrinkley · 24/07/2019 18:32

Well, I like him. Some ‘commentator’ suggested that he might bring a bit of cheer and positivity to proceedings, which I hope he does. Not to say it’s not all serious stuff, but a bit of goodwill amongst the whole lot of them would go a long way to bridge the huge gaps in society. Good luck BJ.

ginghambox · 24/07/2019 18:32

BarbariansMum · 24/07/2019 18:35

Johnson has a plan. He's already lining the EU up to be responsible when no deal happens. Given that the Tories have been blaming the EU for every bad thing that befalls the UK for years, I reckon he plans on blaming them for all his broken promises heading our way.
