All the people saying that “immigration issue will get sorted out”, can I propose that we keep all the immigrants, and get rid of all the right wing xenophobic brexit supporters

SistemaAddict · 23/07/2019 18:15

I wonder if TM is in a drunken stupor somewhere thinking "thank fuck it's not my problem any more."

Missillusioned · 23/07/2019 18:18

Not all us remainers have the option of leaving the country anyway. If I were to do so it would have to be without my children, as their father would object and I can't take them without his permission.

Likewise anyone disabled or with chronic illness does not usually have the option.

And under Brexit it will likely be much more difficult to emigrate.

Yes! I hope TM has found the popular gin bar. Those who crucified her are going to find things a whole lot more horrific!

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/07/2019 18:20

*Curious to find out how anyone thinks a No Deal Brexit on 31/10 will happen.

It will not be tolerated by MPs from all sides.

OK so it will happen by default maybe, is that what people think?*

This exactly What john major and others are concerned about. Johnson now has the power to suspend palaiment in order to force through a no deal. If theres no paliment there is no need for MPs to agree with it or not.

He at the very least has the threat of agree with me or i'll suspend paliment and do what the hell i like any way.

pigsDOfly · 23/07/2019 18:20

all political careers end in failure that's true but it's the damage they can do meanwhile that worries me.

Lweji · 23/07/2019 18:21

I hope TM has found this MN thread and is posting on it. Grin

ForalltheSaints · 23/07/2019 18:24

Please do not use the words gnat or alley cat in respect of the new leader of the Conservative Party. Have some respect for other species.

Mr Johnson is unfit to hold the office and I suggest that he is imply referred to by his name or just as the Leader of the Conservative Party.

Outsomnia · 23/07/2019 18:26

TM tried, but she was rigid in her beliefs, and a bit hasty too, but no matter, I bet she cannot wait to go to the sunny uplands of the Alps soon.

Now that it's a man from the fundament of PMs things might be different. And it pains me to say that, but it is probably true.

I read somewhere over the weekend that Oxford was the source of PMs and Cambridge was the source of spies, and the writer was not sure who had done most damage to the country. Does anyone remember reading that?

SusieOwl4 · 23/07/2019 18:29

Why are we at this point ? Brexit . Bloody Brexit that’s why .

I am a remainer and proud of it , but now I just want all this uncertainty finished . If he gets Brexit through so businesses can just know where we stand then I will be relieved.

As someone said all the MPs who voted to revoke article 50 knew no deal was the default so I don’t get why they are winging now.

I say give him a chance . He is not the bumbling fool he makes out to be just get brexit sorted one way or another then have a GE .

And yes I think JC has been one of the most ineffective opposition leaders we have ever had . He needs to go . You need a powerful opposition.

Must admit I am looking forward to pm questions between them .

StoneofDestiny · 23/07/2019 18:30

The only people who have chosen Bojo as PM are Tory members. He is inflicted on us all.

Genuinely hope TM is having aong sit down. Got her bra off and into her tattiest jim jams and several box sets ready to go.
Or.
Shes pressed print on the last draft of her biography and is picking shoes from Mark's And Spencer for the book tour

Outsomnia · 23/07/2019 18:32

Cameron's autobiography is out in September too I hear.

Best seller I reckon, and perfect timing.

fotheringhay · 23/07/2019 18:33

Hasn't she still got to do PMQs tomorrow? It would be so funny if she was clearly hungover Grin

pigsDOfly · 23/07/2019 18:34

You need a powerful opposition.

Good luck with that.

Trump, sorry Johnson in number 10 and Corbyn his only opposition. Bloody hell.

StoneofDestiny · 23/07/2019 18:36

OK - he is a Bawbag, and now the leader of a party of Bawbags.

Roussette · 23/07/2019 18:40

I thought Parliament had taken legal action to stop that happening? It's going through and will be in place before Oct. 31st

merrymouse · 23/07/2019 18:43

We are years away from being finished with Brexit. The withdrawal agreement is just the beginning.

I think Johnson's biggest problem is that he doesn't have the patience or desire to understand what he is actually negotiating.

Brexit isn't something you can just bluster through.

HelenaDove · 23/07/2019 18:44

God help us

Alsohuman · 23/07/2019 18:44

It has. That vote took place last week, a number of Tory MPs abstained or voted against the government to make it happen. Parliament can’t be prorogued.

Actionhasmagic · 23/07/2019 18:45

This is bad. So upsetting.

Outsomnia · 23/07/2019 18:46

There will be no suspension of Parliament now,

Neither will there be a NO DEAL Brexit, unless there is a filibuster of some sort to take Parliament over the 00.01 time on 1 November.

I don't think anyone really wants a No Deal. But Parliament will stop no deal anyway, from all sides.

I had a vision earlier of Johnson zip lining from wherever to the Palace and back to no.10. Sad isn't it that you could think that of the potential leader of our country.

PortiaCastis · 23/07/2019 18:49

Suspending Parliament is hardly democratic anyway, we voted for MPs not a feckin dictator so I'm glad it's been stopped

HelenaDove · 23/07/2019 18:49

An anti Boris march tomorrow + a heatwave/hottest day of the year = short/frayed tempers IMO
