I’ve worked with Boris Johnson. He’s lazy, undisciplined, and has the attention span of a gnat unless it’s something that will personally advance him and/or his career. I expected to be entirely underwhelmed by him and he didn’t disappoint.

You will rarely find a civil servant, or any official that has worked with him in any capacity, with anything remotely good to say about him.

I’m really hoping there are enough senior civil servants left with the will and the ability to thwart the fucker.

Fingers crossed.

I think there's a lot of self-generated hype about Johnson's intelligence. He doesn't strike me as intelligent, well-educated for sure but that's not the same. Being able to pepper his speeches with the odd Latin phrase doesn't make him clever it just makes him seem even more pompous.

VapeVamp12 · 23/07/2019 16:49

Seriously will you bloody remoaners not be happy until we're living in a dystopian society?

You're all "god help us", "we're fucked" etc. You think we're already there!

The world is still turning, there is still food on the shelves, employment hasn't slumped and you're all acting like there is no water coming out of your taps.

If anything effects what happens out there it's the scaremongering BS that you lot and other remoaners spout day in day out.

We've had shit PM's in the past, we'll have shit PM's in the future. Moaning on a forum isn't going to change anything.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/07/2019 16:49

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria and please do me a favour, if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it - don't threaten on here

Brilliant do you want to add the fact they don't love the country, how much those that voted leave love the country, do you want to end that with DUDE.

Cos do you know what the next step is, in fact its not the next step its the same step, its going on about non white members of the labour party (probably female ones) and shouting send her back at the next tory pary hustings.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and hope that this might make you think about what you've said and how extreme you may have become.

Yes yes, it was a democratic process sure and like it or not the result was ti leave. I actally understand and in many ways prehaps share the frustration of hearing some remainers go on and on about a second ref, how we should cancel brexit etc. And yes me and my whole family voted remain. The majority of them consertive members.

But seriously attitudes like that are dangerous (i mean the attitude i quoted) and quite frankly scary sorry .

I know the pubic persona of the bumbling idiot is what most people see" that's an insulting assumption! A major reason he terrifies the shit out of me and many others is because he ISN'T an idiot! He knows EXACTLY what he's doing and it isn't going to be policies that help those of us worst off! Because he's also an uncaring, prejudiced, callous arsehole!

The public persona is of a bumbling idiot, people think hes funny. But thats EXACTLY what hes wanted. Its been carefully cutivated over years ajd years. Funny harmless Boris, oh him with his floppy hair, and his cute posh accent, sayong things that makes us all cringe amd laugh. Oh good old BoJo ah ain't he great all those HIGNFY apperences where Dayton, Hislop amd Merton would laugh along what a down to earth guy

Only He never was that man, talking of comedy show appearaces, Adam Hills said when Johnson was on the last leg, ypu could see what he was like when the cameras weren't rolling he was just like any other MP asjust before the studio manager calles and the count down to live Boris looked at the camera and messed up h8s hair and became BoJo.

He really isn't an idiot. In fact the lasf two leadership battles have proved that. Many say he only chose to support leave as a way of forcing Cameron out. And given until that point he's rhetoric had been consistantly pro EU, and the fact that his sister and brother are also consistantly pro EU. You do have to wonder why the sudden U turn it belief.

And then he knew he didnt want to be leader who had to neogatiate Brexit. That was always going to be the posion chalse. He was there in the backgroud nudging the brexiteer, encouraging the anger towards may in the public nudge nudge nudge. Played the long game and then may resigjed and Boris went all out.

Its been a,long amd clever game and hes finally got what hes always wanted

LizzieSiddal · 23/07/2019 16:52

Did you not realiseBrexit hasn’t happened yet?

Alsohuman · 23/07/2019 16:52

@Noextremes2017, don’t judge all of us over 65 people! Some of us voted Remain and are as appalled as anyone else by what’s happening.

Iggly · 23/07/2019 16:52

Seriously will you bloody remoaners not be happy until we're living in a dystopian society?

I would happy if I knew that the Brexit campaign was based on decent, well reasoned logical arguments.

I’d be happier if I knew that Brexiteers had a clear plan.

Now.

Boris had his chance along with David Davis to steer through a sensible Brexit strategy when he was in cabinet.

He delivered absolutely sweet, honeyed fuck dandy all.

Nothing.

Zero.

Zilch.

So....... damn right we are worried about Boris as PM.

Do people (leavers) genuinely believe that there’s a secret magic solution that no one knows about yet?

And Boris will deliver it for us with his magic intelligence, like he’s the messiah or something?

Jesus wept.

VapeVamp12 · 23/07/2019 16:52

Did you not realiseBrexit hasn’t happened yet?

then what the hell is everyone moaning about then?!???

LizzieSiddal · 23/07/2019 16:56

then what the hell is everyone moaning about then?!???

Ffs

So in your world, because something hasn’t happened we shouldn’t be listening to the predictions The Government, The IMF etc etc etc who are saying a no deal Brexit will be disastrous for the UK’s Economy? Accoutring to you we should just let it happen and not worry about a thing?!

VapeVamp12 · 23/07/2019 16:57

Pretty much.

Alsohuman · 23/07/2019 17:01

No arguing with stupid, is there?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/07/2019 17:02

Thats almost as terrifying as the preductions vamp in fact more so.

Its because of attitudes like that that were even here, that Trump got elected, that peopke like farage and yaxley- lennon (tommy robinson) have support.

Sorry you can not blindly wander in to situations and go oh this shite why didnt any one do anything

Outsomnia · 23/07/2019 17:03

Well it was one small step for Johnson, one giant step for the break up of the Union.

Seems it might be a price he is willing to pay. Gawd help us. DUP..... watch out folks. Not that I have any truck with those bigots either.

Scotland may be happy though, in time to just go Indy and eventually stay in the EU and be really Indy, it is just lip service at the moment AFAIS, Westminster rules Scotland, well at least gives them money, apologies if I am incorrect there. Same for NI and for Wales I am sure.

Wish all the parts of the Union well. Seems it is something the Tories are willing to abandon to achieve Brexit.

alittleprivacy · 23/07/2019 17:03

Its been a,long amd clever game and hes finally got what hes always wanted

But if he didn’t want the job in 2016 because of not wanting to negotiate Brexit why would he want it now when things are so much, unthinkably, worse?

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 23/07/2019 17:03

Neither Dh nor I drink during the week. But it's becoming increasingly obvious global warming is a thing, the seas are full of plastic, and now Boris is PM...

Large gins in the garden this afternoon I think.

bellinisurge · 23/07/2019 17:03

@VapeVamp12 We. Haven't. Left. Yet.

Frazzled2207 · 23/07/2019 17:08

There is a good chance that some Tory mps will now resign the whip which means he won't have any majority at all.
Fingers crossed eh.
What a complete bellend.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/07/2019 17:08

But if he didn’t want the job in 2016 because of not wanting to negotiate Brexit why would he want it now when things are so much, unthinkably, worse?

Because hes the knoght in shining armour to the Brexiteers with in the Tory MPS at least hes going to force a no deal departure thats what they want what they've always wanted

Hes not going to be seen as a failure if we leave with a no deal, in fact quite the oppisite he'll be seen a success hes the man whos going to tell Europe Where to stick it

TanMateix · 23/07/2019 17:10

I was looking at a BBC news article on what Brexiteers think about Scotland leaving... jog on was the answer.

avocadochocolate · 23/07/2019 17:11

It's like my company sacking me and bringing me back 2 years later as CEO.

Outsomnia · 23/07/2019 17:12

Well I have nothing but admiration for those who have bailed out, and those who hopefully will in the coming days. (Unless they are promoted ha ha).

I bet Johnson will be clean cut, immaculately turned out, speak well and play a blinder to anyone other than the Tory Party members now.

Well we can live in hope I suppose, because he knows if he starts any buffoonery on the world stage he will be lampooned and laughed at.

He wants everyone to take him seriously as the leader of a (once) powerful and proud country. I think that ship has sailed though sadly now.

Graphista · 23/07/2019 17:12

"All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria"

For starters this is OUR country too (for now - as a Scot) why SHOULDN'T we complain about it being run into the ground and fear the likely effects?

I'm likely to be utterly screwed by how things are going and like the MAJORITY for whom that is true I don't HAVE the wherewithal or ability to leave the country BECAUSE of how ineptly it's being run! Or is that just tough shit in your eyes?!

For another that's a disgustingly misogynistic and insulting comment to make.

This country DOES NOT just belong to those LUCKY enough to be rich, male, white and enjoy good health in themselves and their families.

There's a significant number of mners are disabled (I include chronic illness in this) and/or have family members who are.

The likes of Johnson have NO CLUE what our lives are like and they really don't care.

Neither it seems do you.

"then what the hell is everyone moaning about then?!???" Do you REALLY have no knowledge of the likely ramifications? But you voted leave?! People are FEARING those ramifications and actually food is the LEAST of it, the supply of medication and medical equipment being affected is also a major and realistic concern. Do you know who OWNS water companies in England and Wales? Utilities companies? How your food gets here? Where it's produced? How NOT self sufficient we are? How insignificant we are as a "world power"?

"Westminster rules Scotland, well at least gives them money, apologies if I am incorrect there." You are that's not how it works at all.

TanMateix · 23/07/2019 17:13

Here’s the link

PortiaCastis · 23/07/2019 17:14

Correct,
You cannot argue with stupid and there's none so blind as those who won't see. Very easy to be an ostrich and blame everyone else when the harsh reality bites, but the whole Country will suffer not just remainers but they'll be blamed for the fuck up though!
Never understand why a convicted criminal who is in jail and his racism should be taken notice of but some folks follow yaxley-lennon blindly and that shows what a mess we're in.

TanMateix · 23/07/2019 17:16

if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it

That’s the point precisely! Brexit took from us the option of leaving!

Graphista · 23/07/2019 17:17

Sorry but Bostonians aren't exactly known for their enlightened, well educated, broad minded opinions! Grin

That article alone remarks on their "confusion" over basic knowledge on the matter

"This has apparently led to some confusion, with one voter in Lincolnshire telling us he was under the impression that Scotland would be staying as an EU member while England left."
