I am a member of the Conservative Party who did not vote for BJ but he is who we've got so my only wish is that he gets us out of the EU pdq and doesn't fuck up on other issues.

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria and please do me a favour, if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it - don't threaten on here. Oh, and if you're going, take Jamie Oliver with you, he threatened to leave the country but is still here.

Snoozanna · 23/07/2019 16:02

The old picture of Boris on the zip line is so apt right now.

As a country, we've taken an ill-advised leap and are now precariously dangling, wondering where help is going to come from, but at least we're still proudly waiving our silly little flags.

Cinammoncake · 23/07/2019 16:05

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria

So just sit and watch the country and economy being ruined with no complaint then

Snoozanna · 23/07/2019 16:06

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria and please do me a favour, if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it*
I have. Looks a better decision by the day. Just need to work on localising my accent now to cut down on the embarrassment.

Goodnightchristopherrobin · 23/07/2019 16:07

It is concurrently hilarious and humiliating. The UK is an absolute joke Wine

Roussette · 23/07/2019 16:08

From the Independent...

'The EU has shot down Boris Johnson’s Brexit plan within moments of his appointment as Tory leader, in the latest sign that the bloc has no plans to make concessions'

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-boris-johnson-eu-deal-tory-leadership-result-brussels-a9016911.html

Would love to know what his plan is then...

The article is worth reading

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/07/2019 16:11

Was inevitable.
My biggest fear is a GE which returns a Tory / Brexit coalition.
Trump being re-elected ( pretty likely) and the UK will just sell off bits of the UK piecemeal to the US.

Songsofexperience · 23/07/2019 16:14

This brexit, esp a no deal crash and burn is simply a hostile US takeover.
How patriotic to support it!

Roussette · 23/07/2019 16:15

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria

Let's encourage the country to go to pot then.... okkkaaaaay.....
The UK will become economically smaller and more insignificant upon Brexit, whatever way you look at it, so do excuse me if I'm a tad upset which could be interpreted as hysteria...

noodlenosefraggle · 23/07/2019 16:16

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria and please do me a favour, if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it - don't threaten on here
I would love to. However, I am a British citizen and it has been made 1000x more difficult for me to move to Europe for a start. I have told my children to think about jobs that will enable them to go to another country, whether inside or outside Europe. They haven't got 50 years to wait for the economy to recover. I would be bloody delighted if Brexit turned out great because, at the moment, mine and my childrens only option is to live here.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 23/07/2019 16:16

Oh, and if you're going, take Jamie Oliver with you, he threatened to leave the country but is still here.

Oh god no. Even if I was going I wouldn't take him with me. Why do these celebs say stupid shite like this all the time? It's embarrassing when they end up staying!

Iggly · 23/07/2019 16:20

All the remainers and left wingers need to get over their hysteria and please do me a favour, if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it - don't threaten on here

Brexit isn’t just the province of right wingers, despite the epic racism which might make you think otherwise.

This is a democracy and I can be as fucking pissed off about Brexit as I like.

And if there’s a chance to vote Brexit away, I would take it. Sadly unlikely.

But I think Boris will fudge Brexit. All to the good for remain.

Alsohuman · 23/07/2019 16:25

That sounds like a variation on “Go back where you came from” to me @SilverySurfer.

Noextremes2017 · 23/07/2019 16:29

SilverySurfer

Wow - you'd make a good double act with Donald Trump telling people who actually care about the country to get out.

I am guessing you might be over 65 from your user name.

Not referring to you, of course, but this is basically the second time the country has been fucked by the over 65's who gave 'Subsidised City Boy' Farage and his UKIP party support in the first place.....

Guess you are looking forward to the return of the Empire once Johnson re-commissions 'Britannia' and starts sailing up all those foreign rivers demanding trade deals.

Wake up - it's 2019 FFS.

CapybarasLoveCake · 23/07/2019 16:30

I will literally never get over my remainer hysteria. Soz 💁‍♀️. It’s our country too y’know.

Patroclus · 23/07/2019 16:34

Is it still 'mean' to call Tories morons?

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 23/07/2019 16:36

I mean, he's trolling us with this isn't he? (photo from today, arriving at Tory HQ)

So Boris Johnson is the new PM.
So Boris Johnson is the new PM.
ItsAlrightAlright · 23/07/2019 16:36

Anyone would think it used to be impossible to travel and work in European countries before we joined the EU going off some of the hysteria on here Hmm

TuesdaySunshine · 23/07/2019 16:37

Where are all the threate ed resignations? Deafening silence

Philip Hammond, David Gauke, Anne Milton, Rory Stewart, Peter Hill (May's PPS). There'll be more no doubt, and I doubt they'll go silently.

How he can think unite and defeat are compatible I don't know.

Or deliver and unite.

if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it

Already in motion, thanks. Everybody has their red lines.

tinytemper66 · 23/07/2019 16:38

God help us all!

MissConductUS · 23/07/2019 16:39

Serious question. How does any politician advance with such astonishingly bad hair?

malificent7 · 23/07/2019 16:42

This was hardly a surprise unfortunately.
The alternatives were shit too ....
Ruthlessly efficient backstabber Gove, NHS ransacker Hunt or dithering May.
If the electorate insist on voting these self serving Tory bastards in( which they consistently do) then this is the result.

ScreamingValenta · 23/07/2019 16:48

Serious question. How does any politician advance with such astonishingly bad hair?

I wonder if it's becoming fashionable for leaders to have bad hair - look at Trump's coiffure! Grin

LizzieSiddal · 23/07/2019 16:48

if you are thinking of leaving the country - do it

So to carry your logic through, you want 48% (or there abouts) of the country to leave? Remember that 48% mostly consists of the younger people go this country so who’ll provide all the taxes to run the services you need in your old age SilverSurfer?
