"Fck Govt Fck Boris
On 24 July, a coalition of groups is making a start on exactly this. The Fck Govt Fck Boris protest is taking to the streets of central London to “greet” Johnson after he’s sworn in as PM. Its call to action sets out why this is so important."

Hearthside · 23/07/2019 14:40

Doomed that is all i can say .I really don't think he is the buffoon he pretends to be that he is actually very savvy and lot more intelligent than he makes out .But he will ruin Britain 🙁.

hmm I wonder why the MN advert bot thinks that cannabis oil is the correct advert for this thread......

@serenoa unsure why you tagged me in that comment?

I also think he is intelligent and not necessarily even pro Brexit. I think he genuinely does not care about people and is perfectly prepared to do no deal for Britain.

That he can negotiate with the EU is just laughable. He is the most unlikeable character.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/07/2019 14:46

fotheringhay
I think your analysis is pretty reasonable. The Tory party is usually pretty disciplined and pragmatic. If the outcome you think is right for the country is a Tory government then you select the candidate that will deliver it. That is partly why the turned on TM because she had an unnecessary election and got a poor result.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 23/07/2019 14:48

God. I spent the last year taking the piss out of US friends & colleagues over the fact that their population voted in trump.... brexit was bad enough but BoJo? Shock

Oh well. taking solace in the fact that very few people actually voted for him

Can't believe it came down to a toss up between the c*nt who has run the NHS into the ground & Boris bloody Johnson.

urbanlife · 23/07/2019 14:49

Overjoyed! Can’t wait for the future 🥂

Tweedledum and Tweedledumber?!

So Boris Johnson is the new PM.
FiveTwoFaster · 23/07/2019 14:53

I can’t get too het up about this. They held the referendum. There was a majority. DC folded instantly, TM stepped up and tried to get a deal through and was blocked at every turn and she was a Remainer. To fulfil the result of the referendum, a Leave campaigner should probably execute it. The Tories should unite behind him for the sake of democracy ( I KNOW there are a lot of people who would prefer to remain but for some reason there were more people willing to go to the polls that day that wanted to Leave and that’s the way we do democracy here), he can do the job of Brexit, then we can have a GE and get another decision on a PM.

I would feel pissed off if Corbyn got in, but if the majority of voters according to our system democratically elect him, then that is just the way it works. And good! Boris has a LOT of backing among Tory party members as shown by numbers today. Let him just do this one job, which is JUST as much a poisoned chalice as it was when TM took it on, then the rest of it can be settled by GE.

It is what it is. He will either utterly humiliate himself or scrape through. I just want it over. I’m so BORED of politics being this divisive. It’s mad. People get really personal with each other and it’s the most venal in society who want that. They want everyone at each other’s throats and they bloody love it and get a high from it. Let’s not play their shitty game. Let’s put reasoned arguments across, accept that other people feel differently to us and that’s ok and we have freedom of speech too! Let’s not resort to personal attacks and try to put measures in place to protect our own interests without tearing down others. It’s a waste of time! Angry enraged arguments never get the other side to agree with you anyway.

Let’s just HOPE Boris can do a good job. He’s PM. It’s not worth hoping anything else.

timeforakinderworld · 23/07/2019 14:57

I just want it over.

If Brexit goes through it won't be over for years, possibly decades.

Iggly · 23/07/2019 14:58

The Tories always believe that they should be in power - they’re less idealogical than other parties and will change their position to win votes, much more than Corbyn/Labour.
If Labour were anything like the Tories when it came to wanting power, they’d have thrown JC under the bus years ago. They kind of expect voters to turn to them and agree with them as opposed to saying what voters want to hear.

Which is why I think people will still swing to the Tories if JC remains leader.

It’s an absolute embarrassment. We have BJ, who shamelessly uses racist language as the fucking prime minister??????

merrymouse · 23/07/2019 14:59

I think he is incompetent and lazy and doesn't have the qualities required to negotiate an agreement that is essentially about detail and compromise.

However, at least he will have to put his money where his mouth is and stop blaming everyone else for the Brexit mess.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 15:01

Im in Scotland. Thank fuck! There is some hope :)

lolaflores · 23/07/2019 15:01

Where are all the threate ed resignations? Deafening silence

Gingerkittykat · 23/07/2019 15:03

I'm happy.

Boris is the best advert we have had for Scottish independence for a while.

There was a news interview in Edinburgh lately asking opinions on BoJo and at the end the interviewer commented that in the street they could normally find a range of opinions but that day could not find a single person who didn't think Boris was an idiot.

merrymouse · 23/07/2019 15:03

If Brexit goes through it won't be over for years, possibly decades.

Agree - there is no 'over'. The negotiations will go on and on, and Farage will continue to sell unicorns and racism.

NameChangeNugget · 23/07/2019 15:05

Boris or Jeremy??? What a choice Grin

serenoa · 23/07/2019 15:06

@AngeloMysterioso

Er... possibly this hangover! Apologies. Is tagging copying and pasting someone's user name to reply to them? I feel a bit stupid for not knowing, but am sorry if I was wrong. I haven't been back to look at my post yet, I'm a bit stuck with a cat determined to sit on my lap, I'm typing slowly with one finger. Sorry again.

CaptainJaneway62 · 23/07/2019 15:08

Yep we're definitely fucked!

inesj · 23/07/2019 15:09

@helterskelter - I’ve worked with Boris Johnson. He’s lazy, undisciplined, and has the attention span of a gnat unless it’s something that will personally advance him and/or his career. I expected to be entirely underwhelmed by him and he didn’t disappoint.

You will rarely find a civil servant, or any official that has worked with him in any capacity, with anything remotely good to say about him.

I’m really hoping there are enough senior civil servants left with the will and the ability to thwart the fucker.

serenoa · 23/07/2019 15:10

There have been three ministerial resignations today so far, Anne Milton, David Gauke and Rory Stewart. Johnson won't be officially appointed until tomorrow, right now he's only party leader. Still plenty of time for Philip Hammond and others to resign before he takes office.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 23/07/2019 15:11

It's very depressing indeed that another thatched turnip has been given a great seat of power.
Too many people falling for the "amiable buffoon" exterior and relying on the old boy network.

Bozzer is going to trash the joint even worse than Treezer did.
