The cheapest and the most expensive property within 5 miles...

Seeing so many threads about properties and the difference in prices reported I get why it can be so difficult for people to imagine the differences between areas.

Would IBU to be curious and ask you to hop on primelocation and see what are the cheapest and the most expensive properties within 5 miles of your home? Ignore shared ownership, retirement only and investment student studios. Obviously you don't have to post links, just say the area so you can keep anonymous.

I will start.
NW big city
The cheapest:
2 bed flat 35k. Fully livable! Just needs decorating. 15 min to city centre.
The most expensive: 😮
8 bed, oh so amazing, grade 2 listed £1,995,000. 25 min to city centre.

Cheapest is a £40k one bed former holiday chalet on an old park. A few statics for cheaper but not sure they count.

Most expensive £6.5mill for 11 bedrooms on the beach.

Quite a few at £2.5million. All 5 beds+with land in lovely areas south/west/North of us. 5 miles east of us the area is not great and you can get a 2 bed terrace for £50k.

Cheapest £17500k for a flat with 5 yrs remaining on the lease with no option to extend.

I always wondered if anyone lets the lease run out. What will happen then? Will it just transfer to the freeholder and that's it?

Glasgow- South Side. Most expensive: 2.5million - 7 bedroom property. Least expensive 17.5k 1 bed flat in undesirable area but definitely liveable.

Village near Ipswich

Most expensive is a plot of land for £3 million (to be sold at auction, so might reach higher). Then a 9-bedroom house for £2.9 million.

Cheapest is a studio flat at £60,000 - in Ipswich itself.

Highest is currently just under 700K; cheapest is £130k. East Cornwall.

Cheapest 75k, 1 bed end of terrace.
Most expensive 1.2million rural Manor House.

Village in West Midlands

South East Cornwall, so this catches Plymouth in the 5 miles.

Cheapest non-student and non-holiday only accomodation is £48k for a 1 bed flat, 2nd floor, needs a refurbishment.

Most expensive is £3.5million for the Whitsand Bay Hotel. 32 bedrooms. Lots of land, lots of planning permission. No interior photos, so assume it's in a state.

Suburb outside Manchester

1 bed apartment cash only buy to let in student block near central Manchester.

Cheapest proper one
2 bed terrace 45K. Looks really tiny but in pretty decent condition and v close to district centre about 8 miles from Manchester centre.

Most expensive £6 million 8 en- suite bedrooms, 5 receptions, home gym and swimming pool, staff flat, separate 3 bed lodge and 11 acres of grounds.

Highest few just says ":Price on application", and then there is one at £6.5m in Denham www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-71969758.html

However nearer me few go at over £2m.

Cheapest within 5 miles - ignoring just land, garages only, and ignoring shares ownerships, (there are pages and pages of those at the lower priced end) and static caravans, and flats where only the retired are allowed to live (loads of those too) that takes us to £150k studio flat www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-55359174.html or £150k 1 bed flat Watford www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-62864643.html

North Devon, lowest €199,950 3 bed semi, dearest £980,000 4 bed country house. I've moved from Kent so this seems cheap to me!

75k for a 1 bedroom flat in a purpose built block.

2.95m for an 11 bedroom mansion in the middle of nowhere.

West of Scotland. The cheapest is a 1 bedroom sandstone tenement flat £17,500 in a not great area but liveable.

The most expensive is £3,000,000 7 bedroom home in a small village. Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
