So my partner has bought this tea shirt for his 3 year old granddaughter. I know what I think of it but I'd like to ask you what you all think?

Awful. Tacky. Tone deaf. Sexist and not even amusing

WeeDangerousSpike · 20/07/2019 19:08

Tacky and yuk, right up to the 'if you hurt me' bit, then it's truly horrible.

DD is almost 3, there's no way on earth I'd dress her in something that puts the idea of her being hurt in my head each time I see it.

Ask him why would he think someone hurting her is something to joke about? It really happens - it's not like alien abduction or something equally impossible. (not that that would make the shirt bearable either)

winobaglady · 20/07/2019 19:10

Grim

IvanaPee · 20/07/2019 19:14

I find it hilarious. I wouldn't buy it but I get the joke...

What’s the hilarious joke? Confused

@nilcarborundum why have you saddled yourself with this prince among men??

Idontwanttotalk · 20/07/2019 19:24

@LittleLongDog

"Also, it’s T shirt or T-shirt (not tea shirt.... although I like the sound of a tea shirt ☕️)"
It is actually a tee shirt.

mussolini9 · 20/07/2019 19:42

Creepy AF & there is no WAY a 3 year old should be exposed to this toxic mindset.

nilcarborundum · 20/07/2019 19:48

@IvanaPee I ask myself that a lot. We've been together 15 years, so just force of habit I guess.
Two years ago I had breast cancer and he was really good to me, taking time off for my appointments etc, so 🤷‍♀️

I'm pretty sure that's wrong, isn't it called a T shirt because it's in the shape of a T?

Kenworthington · 20/07/2019 19:50

It is ghastly and chavtastic

HeadintheiClouds · 20/07/2019 20:00

All shirts are shaped like a T

reytmardy · 20/07/2019 20:04

Horrible. I would say sorry but I don't like it

LottieLucie · 20/07/2019 20:09

Ghastly. That would be used as a cleaning rag instead.

IvanaPee · 20/07/2019 20:25

@nilcarborundum hope your health is improving. Flowers

It’s shite

HobbyIsCodeForDogging · 20/07/2019 21:15

@Idontwanttotalk if you're going to pick at others at least be right!!

@coconuttelegraph is right, it's called a T-shirt because of the shape.

nilcarborundum · 21/07/2019 12:04

@IvanaPee I'm fine now thank you 🤞😊

Footnote, I spoke to him about it when we were having a meal together, trying to be diplomatic. He was not pleased and left early ( I was about to offer him dessert lol) He didn't ring me that night and he always does before bed. Personally I think he was sulking. It's not been mentioned between us since, and he's visiting his son & family very soon so I've no idea if he's taken on board what I said! Hmm

NoSauce · 25/07/2019 18:07

I’d think he was a meathead.

IvanaPee · 25/07/2019 18:10

God, he’s just a sad prick isn’t he?

HalfManHalfLabrador · 25/07/2019 18:16

Cringey
