So my partner has bought this tea shirt for his 3 year old granddaughter. I know what I think of it but I'd like to ask you what you all think?

Nasty

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 19/07/2019 21:11

Sorry pressed send too soon. T shirt is nasty.

PetrolBastard · 19/07/2019 21:12

I don't see the harm in a grandad buying a silly tshirt for his granddaughter. It's meant well. Obviously I wouldn't put my child in it except for a photo to say thanks.

ferntwist · 19/07/2019 21:13

For me it’s the line about “If you hurt me...” that makes it particularly sinister. No little girl (or boy) should be thinking about the things on that T shirt.

SuperSara · 19/07/2019 21:14

YABU for starting your OP with 'So'.

isitwhatitis · 19/07/2019 21:16

It'd be lovely in the bin.

LightDrizzle · 19/07/2019 21:18

Dreadful. I hope he sees sense, however if he does send it, I’m confident it will be lucky to be used for cleaning windows before being binned.
Your grand-daughter won’t be afflicted with it.

Dutch1e · 19/07/2019 21:27

It took longer to read that stupid shirt than it took to read the replies.

NCforthis2019 · 19/07/2019 21:29

Yuck. Tacky much?

Stompythedinosaur · 19/07/2019 21:35

Very nasty. It really makes clear that he considers his granddaughter to be property.

SarahSinclair · 19/07/2019 21:40

@BoronationStreet

Wtf is a tea shirt?

I was gonna ask the exact same question!!

mollpop · 19/07/2019 21:40

It's tacky, disposable crap, but I wouldn't stress about it. It serves a purpose and it'll be in the bin soon

Or you could clean the windows with it

Justwanttotravel · 19/07/2019 21:48

Tacky but what’s misogynistic about it? Boy version available too...

BertrandRussell · 19/07/2019 22:02

“Wtf is a tea shirt?

I was gonna ask the exact same question!!“

Were you? Why? When it couldn’t have been clearer what the OP meant? Or were you perhaps unable to match the words to the picture? Some form of processing problem?

nilcarborundum · 19/07/2019 22:04

"Tea" shirt courtesy of autocorrect!

HeadintheiClouds · 19/07/2019 22:13

Yes, of course nobody was seriously confused at tea shirt. No need for bitchiness, people

Pinkbendyman · 19/07/2019 22:13

Awful 👎 It’s a no from me.

PaintingOwls · 19/07/2019 22:14

Toxic masculinity.

tillytoodles1 · 19/07/2019 22:15

Nasty and stupid. I also hate all the" rules for dating my daughter" ones too, as he was probably spending all his time trying to get her mum's knickers off.

BertrandRussell · 19/07/2019 22:16

Someone says there’s a boy equivalent- anyone got a picture?

wichitalinemanswoman · 19/07/2019 22:21

Awful

VivienneHolt · 19/07/2019 22:22

A bit tacky and cringe. I wouldn’t put a child of mine in it.

BoronationStreet · 19/07/2019 22:22

Actually @BertrandRussell I genuinely didn't get it. I've only recently discovered something called "tea dresses" and I'm American so I wasn't sure if tea shirt was a specific type of shirt. Is that clear enough for you?

Hadenoughofitall441 · 19/07/2019 22:22

It’s too long, I @lmost fell asleep reading it.... I like quirky things but they have to be short and funny.

HeadintheiClouds · 19/07/2019 22:23

You saw the picture, it clearly wasn’t anything but a common or garden t shirt
