I really want this to be true, but I feel for the boy! All sorts of problems this kind of thing can cause for him!

What a pile of exploitative bollocks and anyone who peddles this nonsense is a charlatan.

viques · 18/07/2019 20:52

as a slug or something

blimey, there are a lot of bad souls living in my garden!

Loopytiles · 18/07/2019 20:54

Reincarnation is just woo.

Reflects v badly on his parents.

Isatis · 18/07/2019 20:57

I suspect this is something the father has written for a bet, to see how many credulous idiots suck up every idiotic detail.

GroggyLegs · 18/07/2019 20:58

When DS was very small he used to tell me about getting the train to work with his 'other daddy when I was big'

Shock
LEELULUMPKIN · 18/07/2019 21:02

Apparently when I was a toddler my Mum was pushing me along the road in my pram in a built up area of town, when out of nowhere, I started shouting "Gee Gee's!!, Gee Gee's live here" and pointing to a nonedescript concrete office block.

I demanded to be taken to see said "gee gee's" my toddler word for horses and kicked up a real fuss when she told me that there were no horses just people working.

I screamed all the way back apparently. She told my Nan about it and said she couldn't understand what had upset me so much.

My Nan went very quiet and told my Mum that about 70 years previously when she was about my age, where I had kicked up a fuss was the old stables for the local dairy. She used to go and pet them.

It had been demolished and built over by the time she became a young woman but I was right, there WERE Gee gee's there!

It's fascinating isn't it?

LillithsFamiliar · 18/07/2019 21:03

alarmclock I immediately thought of that story too.
When DS was little, he used to talk about before he lived with us, he was a grown-up man and he was married and had a little girl, etc. I didn't assume he was reincarnated or run to the papers.

Sparklfairy · 18/07/2019 21:03

Wasn't it said that that the most evil humans would be reincarnated into dung beetles? I swear I heard that as a kid (had never heard of a dung beetle before so liked the idea)

Throughthenever · 18/07/2019 21:07

I used to tell people I was once a turtle... dont remember anything from my turtle life

MissConductUS · 18/07/2019 21:19

My cat thinks she's a princess. Does that count too?

What an odd coincidence that the boy's dad is a TV presenter.

miaCara · 18/07/2019 21:19

I know a boy who would have screaming fits if anyone lay on the floor and pretended to be asleep. If they put something over their faces he was inconsolable . He spoke of heaven and that he used to be a boy of 13 when he lived with his other family.
His Mum thought it was cute and told the other Mums one day at a party. He wasn't in the room but when he overheard them talking about it he ran into the room and shouted at his Mum - ''we're not supposed to talk about it ''.
There wasnt anything we could follow up and there was definitey no famous person involved.

BykerBykerOoh · 18/07/2019 21:19

Since when was a unicorn the national animal of Scotland?

Flooopers · 18/07/2019 21:21

Since the 17th c I think.

BykerBykerOoh · 18/07/2019 21:22

Honestly never knew that!

GabsAlot · 18/07/2019 21:22

Yeah ok fame whore parents

Isatis · 18/07/2019 21:22

I discovered to my surprise on googling that the unicorn is indeed meant to be the national animal of Scotland. However, if I haven't discovered that fact over the several decades I've been around despite having Scottish relatives, I'm wondering how likely it is that Princess Diana would have.

Ohnotanothernamechange · 18/07/2019 21:28

Does anyone else remember The Boy from Barra? Still one of the eeriest things Ive ever seen.

LadyRannaldini · 18/07/2019 21:33

The Daily Express will be selling a collectors item commemorative plate with his face on it (4 easy installments of £14.99) before the month is out!

There'll also be a commemorative coin, only 4999 minted, strictly limited to 1 per household, act now to avoid disappointment, only £199.99.

threelittlerapscallions · 18/07/2019 21:33

I think the idea of reincarnation makes sense. But doubt most of us were famous people though you never know!!

CountFosco · 18/07/2019 21:34

The lion and the unicorn
Were fighting for the crown
The lion beat the unicorn
All around the town.
Some gave them white bread,
And some gave them brown;
Some gave them plum cake
and drummed them out of town.

NotTerfNorCis · 18/07/2019 21:37

I knew one guy whose argument against reincarnation is that there are more people alive today than ever lived before.

LilQueenie · 18/07/2019 21:38

As someone who does believe in reincarnation I very much doubt this particular case is true. Diana would more likely be sticking around the afterlife looking over her the kids she adored and her grandchildren than moving on to another life by choice.

CountFosco · 18/07/2019 21:39

The lion and the unicorn fight for the crown in Through the Looking Glass as well and in Stardust. Plus the Royal Coat of Arms have the Lion and Unicorn as Heraldic supporters.

colourlessgreenidea · 18/07/2019 21:45

I think the idea of reincarnation makes sense

Can you explain why you think it makes sense?

Mordred · 18/07/2019 21:49

Royal Coat of Arms... note Unicorn on right.
