I don’t think people hate her or they’d find the show too insufferable to watch.
She’s one of those characters who is lovable but also very irritating but that’s the point of the show so I don’t think people hate her really. She’s not a villain

I love Hyacinth! She’s my spirit animal.

I also adore Margo Leadbetter and wish I was her.

She makes me laugh but god I couldn’t live next door to her

Hyacinth Bouquet is a fantastic character. But I haven't watched that show for years.

I hated the episodes where she was humiliated. I liked it when she sailed through blissfully unaware.

She was always charging about like a chintzy sofa come to life. I bet she and poor put upon Richard had a great sex life. Possibly.

I have the boxsets. She's iconic. I personally cannot stand her neighbours!

I love Hyacinth and I think that Margo is perfection in human form.

I still say Richard, mind that cow! To DH every time we drive down a country lane I really enjoyed the prequel they did on the BBC a few years ago.

Never watched Hyacinth but quite liked Margo. A snob with a kind heart?

Pauline in 'Mum' ...she's another person we're supposed to dislike but by the end of the series I had a smidgen of sympathy for her. Only a smidgen, mind.

She’s hilarious... to watch on TV. Imagine actually having to live with or close to someone like that.
