Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

She's underweight

She's underweight

Underweight for what? She has had three big healthy babies. She functions well in the world. What on earth is her lack of weight stopping her doing?

Unless you mean thinner than many women - well yes of course. But not all women.

Thatoneoverthere · 18/07/2019 01:18

Benjispruce I saw her on school run a couple of times surrounded by women not of dissimilar sizes to her. She in no way stood out as being crazy thin. Her husband driving like a prick did make him stand out.
That does make me laugh though, the nicest way I was called fat was when I worked once for a family and the mum was thin, I was hanging out with the kids and one of the little ones said 'oh Thatone you're much more comfortable than mum' Grin

Severnlurveheart · 18/07/2019 08:22

I saw a photo of Kate and Nathan at Wimbledon. Kate didn't look particularly skinny next to Meghan. Kate has a tiny waist bit I don't think she is 'too' thin. I'm rather jealous of women with small waists and flat tummies as my weight always goes there first. Grin

Severnlurveheart · 18/07/2019 08:23

^Should read Meghan not Nathan !!

@pallisers

Underweight for what?

I don't understand this. Do you think no one can be considered underweight unless all their organs are shutting down and they can no longer function?

I'm sure you'll agree some people can be overweight so why not underweight. I'm slightly overweight...I'm aware of that. It doesn't affect my life...I'm active, walk for miles every day, have two healthy children...but I'll still concede I'm overweight. So why can't you concede that some people can be underweight?

Loopytiles · 18/07/2019 11:24

Underweight as in BMI well below 20.

zonkin · 18/07/2019 12:28

BMI of 18.5 is in the healthy range

pallisers · 18/07/2019 13:28

No. but I think a clearly healthy woman who gives birth to three big babies and goes out and about her life without a problem isn't actually worth labelling as "underweight". Ditto you and "overweight".

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 19:27

Yes underweight for what? I've just run nearly 20 miles this afternoon and my BMI is only 18 doesn't seem to have adversely affected me!

Amibeingdaft81 · 18/07/2019 19:52

@Surprisereaction
You must have fuelled bloody well for that kind of run in this weather!

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 19:59

Amibeingdaft yes, porridge for breakfast, sandwich in the car then load up my hydration vest with nut butters, protein balls, malt loaf and electrolytes. I'm only 7 stone 8 and weigh 49kgs, have had three children and still manage to live a full life despite being constantly told that I'm 'underweight' or 'too thin'! 😆

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 20:00

I obviously am delirious as didn't mean to give my weight in all versions!

Amibeingdaft81 · 18/07/2019 20:05

What’s your height?

I get it. Same here. Bloody annoying

Amibeingdaft81 · 18/07/2019 20:07

Do you actually eat all that on your run? Do you stop then?

I’m a runner. And I just couldn’t eat all that in a run, but might mean longer runs would be possible if I could, but how do you eat malt loaf and protein balls without stopping and then having a good few mins to digest?!

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 20:16

I'm 5ft 4" weeny obvs compared to our Kate!

Oh I stop and eat or just walk, just munch little bits as I go along.

Amibeingdaft81 · 18/07/2019 20:18

Ah don’t really have time to stop sadly
Needs to be non stop. But then again only around 12k

Perhaps when I have more time...

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 20:25

I'm just a slow, plodder so it fits with what I do, good luck!

SerenDippitty · 18/07/2019 20:53

@Surprisereaction with a BMI of 16.7 you are underweight.

Amibeingdaft81 · 18/07/2019 20:59

@SerenDippitty.
That is acknowledged in the post
Her point was that it didn’t stop her having children and leading a very active life (energy to run 20 miles this afternoon!)

Surprisereaction · 18/07/2019 21:09

Serena my BMI is 18 not 16.7. Anyhow, whatever it is I'm in my 50's and couldn't put on weight if I tried and as AmIbeingdaft reiterated I run marathons, have had children and am rarely ill so not sure that it matters a fig if I'm too thin.

BlackberryandNettle · 18/07/2019 22:33

I think the DoC looks fantastic - I'm a vaguely similar shape and colouring to her but look nothing like as in shape. She must do a lot of exercise I should think, probably Pilates type stuff. Also I think it helps to have a really good hairdresser - bouncy/glossy hair looks really healthy.

Redspider1 · 19/07/2019 23:46

Too thin for my taste. I prefer a woman to have a shape that is not straight up and down but that’s just my opinion .
