Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

Me! I am fairly tall and weighed around 8.5 stone or less until I was well into my 30s. I got even thinner when I had babies.

Now I am 48 and exercise a lot, but have to watch what I eat.

Amibeingdaft81 · 16/07/2019 17:21

@Wheretohavelunch
I have similar arms (although not so lovely and tanned)

And I find that people look at them. And I feel very self conscious at this time of year. Not in an admiring way. More like - goodness she looks scrawny and unhealthy way. Do you find this? I really don’t think my imagination.

fancynancyclancy · 16/07/2019 17:23

Me “TartanTexan”, I ate loads, good stuff & bad stuff but never gave what I put in my mouth a second thought. I did loads of sport though through school, uni etc. Was always classed as underweight which I didn’t like as I felt too skinny. Now in my mid 30s I can only eat what I fancy if I exercise.

If you arms are similar to wheretohavelunch then I’m sure they are lovely!!! They are very nice, toned arms!

I have had my arms described as “matchsticks” and my legs as “chicken legs” and it is deeply unpleasant. As are comments about hip bones on show etc - but I just have wide hips with quite visible bones, even when a bit heavier. People should just keep comments to themselves.

Wheretohavelunch · 16/07/2019 17:41

I've had a bloke say to my DH that it must be like 'shagging an ironing board' to him in front of me. I just don't know how to respond Sad

Amibeingdaft81 · 16/07/2019 17:42

@crispysausagerolls

They are (I posted a pic) but bit scrawnier and paler.
I am very self conscious and never wear spaghetti straps

Thatsalovelycuppatea · 16/07/2019 17:42

If anything like my dd. Eats loads, burns it off quickly because she is very tall.

Amibeingdaft81 · 16/07/2019 17:42

I’ve been skeletor Sad

Amibeingdaft81 · 16/07/2019 17:45

In a park with my children. I was eating an apple. Three women walk by and I heard them saying “I bet that’s all she’s eaten all day and all she will eat for rest of day.”
I wanted to shout after them “I’ve just had a salmon And new potato salad, followed by bowl of Greek yoghurt and nuts. And after this I’m going home to mackerel!”

Instead I just squirmed

That is SO RUDE 😱

You have to feel seriously bitter about yourself for insulting complete strangers like that, it's shocking.

People have to tell themselves that that what they don’t have is bad. That’s why this thread is full of people saying Kate Middleton is “ill” or “too thin”. She can’t just be pleasantly slim because they aren’t and they can’t tarry the two. Same reason people with little boobs say big boobs are saggy and awful, or people without money think it’s the route of all evil. Stay at home mothers are lazy, and working mothers are callous. People just can’t accept other people have different bodies or life choices, lifestyles. Unhappy people anyway (in my experience).

HolyFuckballsBatman · 16/07/2019 18:39

@crispysausagerolls I've been called twiggy, have been told I look like I'm going the break, men have told me my face is beautiful but they're worried they'd snap me in half.
I asked in New Look if they'd in stock any 23inch waist jeans and was laughed at by the assistant who called her colleague over and said 'She's a 23incher!' Her colleague just sneered.
I've been told my bum isn't big enough, that I look gaunt, anorexic and on one very memorable occasion was refused painkillers in a chemist (until I'd spoken to the pharmacist) because they lady on the till thought I was an addict looking for a fix. Apart from my size, there was absolutely no reason for her to even begin to think that.
The pharmacist couldn't apologise enough, neither could head office.

I'd love to see the reaction if it were reversed to the overweight.
Refusing to sell McDonalds to someone? Laughing at them asking for a size 18? Being called fatty?
It happens I'm aware, but there's uproar and a lot of body confidence, girl power rhetoric.
It happens to slim women and it's met with 'meh.'

skybluee · 16/07/2019 18:40

Wow. Have read all of this thread and I'm stunned, barring a few posters that I agree with. I think Kate Middleton is beautiful and she has a lovely figure. She's slim and looks normal, not unhealthy at all. It's sometimes harder to tell as she wears loose dresses quite a lot, but I google imaged some pictures and she looks lovely in most of them.

I'm really shocked that people think she looks bad.

I'd say what is unusual is her height - 5'9. I'm a similar height and it's rare to find other women as tall.

I'm curious as to what people would think of say someone like Elle MacPherson.

I know quite a lot of people who look like Kate Middleton in terms of their figure, I don't think it's rare.

Honestly I'm staggered by this thread.

She looks nice!

I mean if I go on my facebook some of my friends are slimmer than her, I'm shocked there is this outrage over it.

I am so sorry to hear! Absolutely disgusting!!!! You look great and don’t deserve that.

I promise there is no uproar. Ive been called a fat cunt in public many times. I’ve had shop assistants laughing at me and men stop their cars to lean out the window and call me disgusting.

I’m sorry it happens to you too but I can absolutely assure you the reaction when reversed to overweight is no different.

Teddybear45 · 16/07/2019 18:51

She’s 5ft 9 and a size 6. It looks unhealthy. She would look far healthier if she was one size bigger

I’m sure she’s pretty happy with her terrifically lean body, sculpted arms and six pack (the last one we can’t know for sure but...).

GirlFliesHome · 16/07/2019 19:07

Oh screw it. It's all about how you identify nowadays so I am now officially identifying as a slim, tall blonde Scandinavian.

(I think Kate looks great. As does her mum who actually looks very disconcertingly like DH's ex-wife).

MummyChelleKent · 16/07/2019 19:10

I think she should but on weight, too skinny

Lovelyhotday · 16/07/2019 19:12

Christ this thread is driving me mad - healthier FOR WHAT FGS!!

She's beautiful, fit, toned and doesn't seem to have any problems conceiving which is often a giveaway for health concerns. Jeez.

OooErMissus · 16/07/2019 19:16

Funnily enough, she doesn't really care what Teddybear45 thinks...

crispysausagerolls · 16/07/2019 19:18

People are just jelly 🤷🏻‍♀️

OooErMissus · 16/07/2019 19:19

Why does she need to look 'far healthier' than this?!

She looks like the epitome of health, and I'm 100% certain much healthier than the likes of those sniping on this thread.

mrscampbellblackagain · 16/07/2019 19:29

She looks great but she does have the figure of a model and also the looks and come on, there aren't that many of those types of women around.

I live in an affluent area and mix with plenty of slim women and all of them eat well and do exercise but not that many are as tall as her.

Of course there are some women who are naturally skinny but in my experience as you get older you have to be careful about what you eat and do exercise which is common sense anyway for a healthy life.

She does also appear to have won the genetic lottery in being tall, small framed and naturally pretty slender. I am small framed but short so really can't eat much without gaining weight.

This is why I have always admired Liz Hurley who made no bones about the fact that she worked jolly hard to look how she does.
