Just randomly stalking on fb and clicked on an exes dad and sent a bloody friend request! Think I’ll have to leave the country.

Deactivated of course.

Please make me feel better with any of your stories? I know I’m BU! Blush

I was moseying through the profile of someone I was at school with. Managed to click on their baby in a photo and tag it as being me

Oh DOOM! that is so funny though

Thisnamechanger · 09/07/2019 13:50

Oh you poor thing Nobhobs

Tuck it under the rug in your mind and don't bring it out again except as a howling anecdote at parties.

CatG85 · 09/07/2019 13:58

Typed the name and hit what I thought was search...typed in status update box rather than search blush so updated my status just with the name of the person I was stalking!

^This. Too many times! haha

When I broke up with my ex I went through my FB deleting his photos before I unfriended him. I mistakenly set one of him as my profile picture.
As I'd had a couple of wines it took me far longer than it should have to realise and fix it. I wouldn't have minded too much but he'll have had a notification to say I'd done this.

Did untag it but it took me a minute or two to stop flapping and work out how

This made me cry with laughter!!

I’ve been the victim of one.

Woke up to a friend request from an ex’s wife. I was bemused so sent her a message first, rather than accepting.

Turns out HE had been stalking ME on HER account, and, you guessed it, managed to send me a friend request by accident.

I bet he was in the dog house!

CynthiaRothrock · 09/07/2019 15:31

I can relate. I saw my ex a few.months ago in my work. Couldnt figure out what he was doing there so had a little stalk; only it wasnt so little i had a bloody good nosey through fb/insta/twitter. Then a few days later talking to a friend about how much of a muppet he still is, i pull out my phone to find he has clamped down his security settings and possibly blocked me on some.platforms. god know what i had done but i am guessing i liked a picture or he could see i had watched a video. Ooops Blush

TapertandEdkins · 09/07/2019 15:35

My exhusband left me for a local woman in a very public way. She was well known locally and so a friend sent me a long text telling me all of the awful things she had allegedly done.

I took a screen shot tried to send it on messenger to another friend - only I accidentally added to my stories.
My exhusband's son viewed it before I could take it down. I am sure he thought I was just being a bitch!

Even worse, she viewed it and when things ended with my exH she contacted me to let me know it wasn't all true.

EmeraldShamrock · 09/07/2019 15:58

My friend liked her gym instructor's photo, a photo that was years old, she'd clearly went through all his albums. Blush

bee222 · 09/07/2019 16:04

@biscuitdrama I'm actually crying here laughing at that one. Tagging some randomers baby as yourself!| I CAN'T BREATH Grin

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 09/07/2019 16:12

If you like a pic by mistake then unlike it,can they tell?..asking for a friend Blush

OrangeJustice · 09/07/2019 16:24

@ChihuahuaMummy1 I did a test of this with dm a while ago. If you like and unlike a pic straight away then as long as they’re not actively on fb at the time, they won’t get the notification - unless they get text or email notifications I suppose? But if they’re online when you like the pic they’ll still get the notification but if you’ve unliked straight away then it will disappear. But they will prob have seen it.

This was a year or two ago though so maybe it’s changed.

bbpp · 09/07/2019 16:31

This was probably nearly 10 years ago (think it was a blackberry!) and the search bar was right at the bottom. I was reading a very long, hilarious, drama-filled argument between people at school I didn't really know, and this one person kept getting mentioned so I searched her to have a nosey.

Must have got distracted at that moment because I didn't look her up, but came back to my phone to loads of notifications like 'what?!?' 'what's this got to do with you?!'

Id wrote her name as a comment instead Blush

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 09/07/2019 16:34

@OrangeJustice I hope so! Thanks

KungFuPandaWorks · 09/07/2019 17:23

I've witnessed a few statuses that should have been inboxed. The worst was a woman ending her relationship with her children father.

She confirmed his suspicions that she was having an affair, she hasn't loved him for a long time, she was quite brutal.

It was up for what seemed an eternity with people expressing their disgust even her family. She swiftly moved it and posted how everyone was being mean!

hardyloveit · 09/07/2019 17:54

I've done so many! It's too easy to do - annoyingly!
I've liked old pics from years ago - I too tested with a friend after my first time and if you unlike immediately they don't get a notification.
At one time fb was playing up and I was private messaging someone before the messenger app came about and it kept putting it as my status! I was talking about quite personal stuff too! Mortified as I didn't realise until my friend rang me and said wtf are you doing!

Stinkycatbreath · 09/07/2019 18:17

I was FB stalking my boyfriend from years ago and accidentally tagged myself on his wedding album. I wouldn't mind but it wasn't so much to see him it was to see which of my old friends had gone. That was till I tagged myself on a picture of him and new wife (she isn't on facebook). Flapped about to take it off then just wanted to die.Grin

PaulinesPenStash · 09/07/2019 18:23

Haha this thread 😂😂

I did that thing where you type the name of the person you're stalking into the status not the search bar ....except just as I realIsed and tried to delete it quickly my computer crashed for about half an hour and the screen froze 😱 still cringes me now

PaulinesPenStash · 09/07/2019 18:25

Oh and my ex husbands dad liked a bikini pic I put up 😱😱

(I do have him as a friend as I got on with him but still...🤢)

sonjadog · 09/07/2019 18:26

Fb stalking a man I fancied new girlfriend. Accidently «liked» one of her really old photos. I’m hoping I unliked so fast she never got the notification...

VictoriaBun · 09/07/2019 18:30

My ex mil ( very acrimonious div) was obviously having a look on my fb page, and a few times sent friend requests. I got fed up ignoring them so sent a message asking why she wants to be a friend when she didn't in the 10+ years I was married to her son glad she's blocked me now

mooncuplanding · 09/07/2019 18:32

@nobhobs That is truly horrific. I can't even....Grin

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 09/07/2019 18:40

Was stalking ExH's new wife (their wedding photo album, to be more specific, which is open to the public), someone knocked on the door and had to run. Meanwhile my 4yo grabbed the phone and posted twenty thousand "crazy", "angry" and "crying" stickers under the Mr&Mrs photo.
I realised only when I got an email from the ex the next day. His wife has actually reported this to the police as harassment.

Hahaha that's so awkward!!
