Just randomly stalking on fb and clicked on an exes dad and sent a bloody friend request! Think I’ll have to leave the country.

I posted a stupid, slightly crude status on my friends page while she was on the toilet. Only she wasn't logged in to her Facebook. It was the very posh shop she worked fors page.

Very briefly a fancy local business declared their love of penis for all to see

Oh fuck it, they haven't said anything, I'll just assume I've been rumbled and they're politely not saying anything

Now if anyone says it's the same with FB stories and videos then I'll be booking my ticket to somewhere that doesn't have internet or 4G so I can never look at SM again!

You have to have specific settings to not come up as having watched an instastory - have you never done one yourself and seen all the people at the bottom who've watched it?

I recently had a friend request sent to me from an aunt who I haven't spoken to since childhood (due to a family fall out).
I was just about to accept it when it disappeared! She'd evidently been searching me and hit send friend request my mistake. Either that or she bottled out.

Halloumimuffin no I've never done a story. I just use insta to follow certain minor slebs or a random nose at people I know I don't actually ever use it to post stuff.

MIL often calls the police to find out where we are and is insistent I've murdered her son grin

It’s the person who is being stalked fault! If they didn’t want to be staked they’d tighten up their privacy settings! Simples! 😂😆🤪

Not fb but Instagram. My ex fwb was an absolute shit (though I just ignored this at the time) who used to deliberately try to wind me up, make a big thing about how he was seeing his ex that day but definitely wasn't going to sleep with her etc etc. I checked out her (public) profile once, then got distracted by something and ended up liking one of her pictures, from years ago! They were still following each other on Instagram so both of them would know I had done it. Mortified. She came up on my explore page the other day as well. Thankfully I'm now with a wonderful man who would never dream of winding me up that way. I know his ex's name but don't feel the need to check her out!

When I’ve had a good FB stalk I block the person so they can’t contact me! 😉 then unblock a few months later! 😂😂

I found an Instagram account which was all pictures of my ex asleep, obviously taken and run by a girlfriend. I accidentally liked a photo, I took it back almost immediately but it will have still come up as a notification I imagine

Yep I've done it. Wasn't stalking but looking through the list of likes on a post on my wife's FB page and accidently friend requested her ex girlfriend who had liked the post. I didn't realise until she accepted my request. I was so embarrassed.
Also friend requested a very senior and eminent sociologist, who my wife worked with on a project some years ago. They are friends on FB and she had liked one of my wife's posts - she generously accepted my request but must have thought it very odd. We are though still friends and have since met.
I also friend requested my exH after deleting him when we split - again, was looking through list of likes on a post of my son's and only realised when, to my horror, exH accepted. Things are okay between us now but at the time we were going through a pretty acrimonious divorce.
I am so much more careful now.

I was moseying through the profile of someone I was at school with. Managed to click on their baby in a photo and tag it as being me.

Did untag it but it took me a minute or two to stop flapping and work out how.

I once stalked my partner’s ex on Facebook. A few days later I stalked her again and realised we were now friends on there. Turns out i’d sent a friends request by mistake

My DPs ex ( they split 2 years before we met and we've been together 3 years) regularly views my Instagram stories and likes then quickly unlikes old photos, she doesn't follow me.

I've never met her, we live in different countries and DP doesn't do social media so I've no idea how she found me

I use a made up name account for Facebook stalking as I don't trust myself to accidentally add someone or like a pic.

Oh, so many fails.

the worst is when your looking through someones photos and accidentally tag someone else in the photo. as its not your photo you cant untag. you can only hide and pray that the ground opens up.

I was stalking my ex-boyfriend's sister as she had a pic of him. I double-tapped thinking it would zoom in on the pic, but it liked it 😱 this was on Instagram. I blocked her immediately 😂😂

Went to block my DP's ex partner who had just found out about us and was threatening me over the phone to him, and i bloody poked her tried to cancel the poke, didnt work, so i blocked her and then deleted facebook out of sheer embarrassment

Not FB but a few years back at university we had to boot someone out of our group work for not contributing. She blocked us all on snapchat apart from one nice quiet girl still in the group, who then screenshotted all of her indirect snaps to show us without realising the person would see the first girl ended up having a massive go at her face to face and I did feel quite bad.

My DP's ex popped up on the folk you might know and I was having a nosey on her page. Baby started crying so I had to run and see to him and forgot to lock my phone.
Along comes toddler and presses loads of buttons.
Needless to say I think she knows I was having a look as she probably got like 7 notifications with my name on them.

I was drunk stalking my ex-H's FB having unblocked him with this intention. I drunkenly liked a post saying "I'm fat and ugly" . He was obviously having a moment of clarity. I couldn't figure out how to unlike it and couldn't block him again as you can't block for 48 hours after unlocking!

Typed the name and hit what I thought was search...typed in status update box rather than search so updated my status just with the name of the person I was stalking!

I've done that more than once!

I stalked an ex right back to 2006 when he first set his account up. About 7 months in, he told me he wanted to go to Europe as he hadn’t ever been to Spain and without thinking I said ‘that’s not true, you went with Lucy in 2008’. Which would have been salvageable apart from the fact that we had never discussed his ex! Nowadays I can’t stalk on fb because I can’t seem to control what comes out of my mouth.
