Aibu to not go? Surely there's not a lot that can be done for an adult woman who has severe diahorrea for the past 3 days ? I've had a fever but paracetamol takes it down again. I feel horrific in that my back and my stomach are absolutely killing. When I get a cramp in doubled over in pain but surely this isn't worth an A n E trip? I've been sipping dioralyte as my wee is orange in colour. But it's coming out of me quicker than I can put it back. Just don't know what to do!

What's coming out. Constant diarrhoea can make you dehydrated especially in this hot weather. Could be why your wee is dark. I would take her advice. Any idea if you've caught something.

iklboo · 06/07/2019 16:21

You may need IV rehydration.

HappyHammy · 06/07/2019 16:22

Did you call 111.

nethunsreject · 06/07/2019 16:22

Go. You'll need iv fluids and electrolytes. Your organs can fail in severe cases. go!

KitKatCHA · 06/07/2019 16:23

Our a medical professional thought you should go to hospital, that's where you should go.

KitKatCHA · 06/07/2019 16:24

*If a medical professional

bridgetreilly · 06/07/2019 16:25

Go. Might be gastro-enteritis. Even if not, you may need an IV.

DeathMetalMum · 06/07/2019 16:25

Have you tried taking anything for the diahorrea? If not then possibly try that, but if you've spoken to a nurse via 111 (where they call you back) I'd definitely consider A&E or a way to speak to an out of hours department. I know our local area has a evening/weekend GP service at the local hospital.

Noonemournsthewicked · 06/07/2019 16:25

Diahorrea kills.

Memyselfandeye · 06/07/2019 16:26

Go! I had this and I went after about 8 hours, never mind 3 days. I felt like my organs were shutting down. Please go. You’ll get a drip and maybe some charcoal tablets and you’ll feel better after.

BIWI · 06/07/2019 16:26

Someone with medical knowledge has told you to go to A&E, but you think random MNetters' advice might be better?

FFS. Go do A&E. It sounds like you're seriously unwell!

Munxx · 06/07/2019 16:27

I had this- it was Salmonella and E. Coli. You will need IV fluids and monitoring. Please get further medical help.

Vanderlylecrybabygeek · 06/07/2019 16:27

Go to a&e if you were told to.

Blankspace4 · 06/07/2019 16:29

As others have said, Get to A&E pronto! Dehydration is a serious issue especially after 3 days. Get well soon!

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/07/2019 16:31

You have sought medical advice. The advice is to go to A&E. This is because you have symptoms of dehydration and, in your own words, fluid is coming out of you quicker than you can put it back in. This means the dehydration will get worse.

Get someone to take you to A&E.

Nameisthegame · 06/07/2019 16:31

You spoke to a qualified professional they said it would be a good idea to go...follow the advice your given. You could be dehydrated or worse.

justasking111 · 06/07/2019 16:33

My DS had this they were not worried until they saw his wee then they took it seriously. He is in his thirties. Go to A and E

stillmoving · 06/07/2019 16:34

Presume you called 111 to ask for advice?

BettysLeftTentacle · 06/07/2019 16:34

A medical professional told you to go to A&E so go. They’re not just saying it.

Do not take anything to stop the diarrhoea. If it’s a gastro bug it’s definitely better in your toilet than in your stomach.

Tallgreenbottle · 06/07/2019 16:35

You need an IV and possibly have salmonella. Go to A&E but call them first so they can keep you away from vulnerable people.

orangeshoebox · 06/07/2019 16:38

back pain = possibly kidneys not happy due to dehydration.
go. you need fluids and a blood test to see how your kidneys are doing.

Toughtips · 06/07/2019 16:39

I did ring 111 and they did say to go. I just know they're so over stretched already and feel so silly going with a stomach bug. Also I'm worrying about getting there without crapping myself.

I don't mean to sound rude but why did you bother to ask a medical professional for their advice only to come on mumsnet to see if other people less qualified agreed with him/her? People baffle me sometimes.

justasking111 · 06/07/2019 16:40

My friend got salmonella spent five days in hospital, horrendous for her.

BIWI · 06/07/2019 16:40

Get off Mumsnet and go to A&E!!!
