A couple I work with are getting married. They are bog lovers of all forms of wildlife.

WIBU to give them this as a wedding gift?

They're all awful.

Get them a sponsorship towards rehabilitation of real orphaned orangutan babies: www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/adopt

You can choose for a surprisingly sweet cuddly toy to be part of the deal.

WizardOfAus · 04/07/2019 14:14

Fucking go for it!!!!!
(And film them opening it).

HerRoyalNotness · 04/07/2019 14:14

You are joking aren’t you?

I received for my engagement one of those toy yapping dogs that does backflips. Still can’t work that out.

MilkyMamma · 04/07/2019 14:14

Flips sake, I'm getting adverts for these hideous things at the side of my MN now! Ha!

nespressowoo · 04/07/2019 14:16

You seem to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic...

LittleWalnutTree · 04/07/2019 14:17

Oh good grief no, they are freaky!

If you really want to give them something primate-related then make a donation to an orang utan sanctuary or the WWF, or an experience day at a wildlife park.

theunrivalledjoysofparenting · 04/07/2019 14:18

If they're wildlife fans, a subscription to their local wildlife trust or to an event such as a bat safari wold be a much better present. Trust me.

Or adopt a baby animal for them - a real one? See www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/adopt

Gingerkittykat · 04/07/2019 14:22

YANBU

It's just a variation of those ultra real baby dolls.

They could become collectors, buy more clothes to make sure it remains fashionable and buy car seats, buggies and take it out with them wherever they go.

It would be idea practice for deal DC, and a nice bonding experience.

Go for it, £150 well spent.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 04/07/2019 14:25

God it’s sooooo ugly!

Do you hate them? 🤔

ginghamtablecloths · 04/07/2019 14:26

Are you serious? No, it looks creepy. A real animal lover would not put a wild animal in human clothes.

SylviaAndSidney · 04/07/2019 14:32

This is delightfully weird.

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 14:34

This one?

Maybe the orangutan adoption many have kindly suggested would be a wiser choice.

This thread can not be real!

fraxion · 04/07/2019 14:35

Personally I would go for a whole wee family of them and go the whole hog by buying them each a wardrobe of clothes. Wonderful innovative gift OP 🙉🐵🙈

Geminijes · 04/07/2019 14:36

What would they do with it?

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 14:37

I know people here are talking sense, but I do think they'd love this guy.

that is vile. and for a wildlife lover actually offensive. reminds me of those pg tips ads with dressed up chimps. they were pulled years ago as offensive.

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 14:38

Look at his happy little face.

zombielady · 04/07/2019 14:39

I want one!

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 04/07/2019 14:41

Look at his happy little face. pmsl - thanks Op for the laugh.

nornironrock · 04/07/2019 14:45

Your username isn't quite right.

I don't think it is possible for anyone to be as drunk as I think you are.

Fun thread though.

Orangecake123 · 04/07/2019 14:45

Ah the stuff of nightmares. Grin

CaptainMyCaptain · 04/07/2019 14:47

This has got to be a joke hasn't it? Nobody would buy those vile things.

Sponsor a real orangutan for them - or buy something they actually want from their wedding list if they have one.

wellbuggerme · 04/07/2019 14:50

those things look like something out of a dirt cheap tacky seaside junk shop from skegness.

OP are you on glue!

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 14:50

Fear not, I've finally found the perfect one. Feast your eyes on these beauties.

One for him and one for her! Perfect.

Thanks for all your helpful comments and suggestions. :)
