A couple I work with are getting married. They are bog lovers of all forms of wildlife.

WIBU to give them this as a wedding gift?

Bizarre.

goingtotown · 04/07/2019 13:16

That’ll end up in a charity shop.

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 13:17

This one seems less traumatising, it looks more like a monkey than the others.

It's either this or an annual subscription to National Geographic.

Certainly spoiled for choice on that site for tasteful gifts.

that25cUKHeatwaveof2019 · 04/07/2019 13:18

that can only be some badly disguised advert, surely

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 13:18

The last one has a personal adoption certificate. As they are hyphenating surnames I thought it would be a nice start to married life, having a little monkey with both their names. :)

What say ye?

Actually, go for monkeys.

The "babies" are insanely creepy

Chocolate1984 · 04/07/2019 13:19

Why would any adult want a monkey doll? You can’t possibly be serious.

NotAsDrunkAsYouThinkIAm · 04/07/2019 13:19

@that25cUKHeatwaveof2019 It's really not, it's just the weird site I found while looking for a nice gift.

SUCH a good idea!

I’ve got the same collection actually, all named, all come out with me wherever I go. It’s a good job my DC are all walking now so they can have their pram.

Bluerussian · 04/07/2019 13:23

It's quite revolting. Do they not have a wedding list? Or else give them a cheque.

FuriousVexation · 04/07/2019 13:23

Oh my god, I'm having nightmares tonight.

Refilona · 04/07/2019 13:24

This is hilarious 😂

VanGoghsDog · 04/07/2019 13:24

Why do these exist?

Peachbubble · 04/07/2019 13:25

No, no and no. WWF donation/subscription all the way...

NotAgainKen · 04/07/2019 13:27

A monkey in a leopard print onesie. That's wong on so many levels it's a whole department store of NO.

Deuxcaggages · 04/07/2019 13:28

Given that there is a whole world of beautiful animal themed art work out there, can you explain your reasoning behind why you think they would like this gift, beyond it is a monkey and they like wildlife.

Also, why are you spending over £100 on a work colleagues wedding gift, that's very generous.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/07/2019 13:28

😂😂😂😂 joke right?

I was just about to say WWF adoption / subscription too.

Awaywiththefairies27 · 04/07/2019 13:29

I paid for my friends dream wedding shoes as a bridal gift and gave her and her DH money towards their honeymoon in a nice congrats on your wedding card...

I love cats but if someone gave me a cat version of what you're intending I'd think they didnt like me or think it was a mean gag gift. If rather have nothing but their attendance if your gift was the plan.

Why not donate a little cash to the local wildlife reserve in their honour?

Ijustwanttoretire · 04/07/2019 13:29
Biscuit

Never thought it would happen - but you have left me speechless...

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 04/07/2019 13:30

Oh, definitely the first picture Op - who wouldn't love that for a present, a real thing of beauty. Wink

Gth1234 · 04/07/2019 13:31

you are Danny Baker, and I claim my five pounds.

pebbleo · 04/07/2019 13:31

OMG is that a chimp equivalent of a reborn doll!!???

Why would you intentionally give someone that!?

It is bound to put a hex on the marriage or murder them in their sleep.

Be a good friend, don't murder them!

sassafras123 · 04/07/2019 13:33

Total shite

Willow2017 · 04/07/2019 13:33

Oh God no!
I love wildlife and support wildlife charities but an 'animal baby doll' no chance.

Animals do not need clothes in nature nor to be 'cute', its ridiculous. It just reminds me of all the animals dressed up in the past to perform for humans and the ill treatment they received. Horrific.

Do an 'Adopt and animal' or a charity subscription or yearly pass to a local wildlife centre instead. I would definately appreciate that much more than some creepy doll to take up space in my house, I mean where the hell would you keep it?
