To want to put an obscenely low offer in for my dream house

piraterach · 02/07/2019 22:09

I know I ABU but a girl can dream.

My absolute dream house is in right move, it's been there since November. I absolutely in no way and never will be able to afford it (£800K Shock).

My poor little house is worth around £150K.

Any chance an incredibly cheeky offer would go through because some millionaire likes that I had the balls to do it??? Grin

Haha my friend has just sent me the link to this page. It's my house for sale 😂.

Sorry but we need a certain figure for our new home 😁

AtSea1979 · 02/07/2019 23:09

Why is having 6 bedrooms your dream? How many DC do you have?!
To be honest it doesn’t really have the wow factor for me. If I had that kind of money I’d want something a bit more unique looking.

Smellbowpenisbeaker · 02/07/2019 23:11

Really @Starstar7?? Well, here’s a few pages of very frank and honest feedback that you never asked for!

AtSea1979 · 02/07/2019 23:12

Eeek starstar7 erm you might want a gin before you catch up with the thread 😂

piraterach · 02/07/2019 23:13

@starstar7

Dammit, oh well as the saying goes you don't ask you don't get lol.

I hope you get the sale you're after soon.

Well if it consoles you in any way, OP, it's frigging ugly.

Mixingitall · 02/07/2019 23:15

Starstar7, amazing that you joined to see the feedback!

OP, I’m not going to ruin the dream, it’s a lovely size and looks bright and well maintained, don’t give up, buy a lottery ticket, ask for a pay rise or go and see a mortgage advisor and borrow, good luck!

Would it be amazing if you did buy the house? Would this then make the classics?

Leeds2 · 02/07/2019 23:15

Fwiw, I think it is a lovely house!

BunloafAndCrumpets · 02/07/2019 23:16

Wow brave friend, this is not a lovely read for the owner! Hope you get a sale soon star

LaurieMarlow · 02/07/2019 23:17

It's not a choice to be emotionally involved. Most people can't afford not to be.

They have to be realistic. If they can approach it as a business transaction it’s much easier for all concerned. Like I say, they don’t have a right to no shocks/surprises.

BigChocFrenzy · 02/07/2019 23:17

Yep, looks a lovely house to me
Much better than the older property someone posted later

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/07/2019 23:18

Star whoever sent you a link to this thread is not a friend. They obviously like to throw cats amongst pigeons in their spare time.

FawnDrench · 02/07/2019 23:20

It's just plain weird and completely soulless!
Sorry, can't find anything positive to say about it.

But if you like it, well.....you like it!

Smellbowpenisbeaker · 02/07/2019 23:20

I bet it was Louise. FFS Louise.

BanditoShipman · 02/07/2019 23:22

It’s just a large box but then I hate new builds

Mixingitall · 02/07/2019 23:26

Bernadette- if my house was being talked about online I would want to know.

This thread is full of negative opinion. We all think differently, a house only needs one buyer, that person will come along!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/07/2019 23:26

I bet it was Louise. FFS Louise

Grin dying

PickAChew · 02/07/2019 23:29

If I was going to not offer that sort of money for a house, it'd be this, purely for the arrangement of stones in the garden :o

Shambu · 02/07/2019 23:35

It's absolutely hideous.

I'd refine your dream OP.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/07/2019 23:39

I’m amazed and slightly worried by how many people are replying to this as if the OP is being 100% serious. She’s already said she was being lighthearted. Granted, as humour goes it ain’t Oscar Wilde, but it was clearly a joke. Anyone who genuinely suggested offering 150k for a 850k house would be bein carried off by the men in white coats.

BanditoShipman · 02/07/2019 23:41

There is another thread on here tonight with an almost identical house\price in Sheffield. Estate agents??

HUZZAH212 · 02/07/2019 23:41

@Starstar7 Its lovely! Especially the kitchen and fantastic staircase.

tillytoodles1 · 02/07/2019 23:42

They'd think it was a joke.

Bowerbird5 · 02/07/2019 23:49

I wouldn’t give £150,000 for it. I don’t care for it. The wood burner is just for show. I have a much better one that heats our whole house.

Dieu · 02/07/2019 23:53

Whenever I watch property shows - especially those set in countries in recession - and I see the prospective buyers putting in a cheeky offer, I actually want to slap them so hard. Knocking a few grand off is one thing, but I actually couldn't live with myself if a put in an abysmally low offer.
