To want to put an obscenely low offer in for my dream house

piraterach · 02/07/2019 22:09

I know I ABU but a girl can dream.

My absolute dream house is in right move, it's been there since November. I absolutely in no way and never will be able to afford it (£800K Shock).

My poor little house is worth around £150K.

Any chance an incredibly cheeky offer would go through because some millionaire likes that I had the balls to do it??? Grin

The gates look pointless next to a low wall
The wood is mismatched in colour
They've probably got planning permission to build on the fields

tryingnottopanicrightnow · 02/07/2019 22:35

Horrible house

mabelmylove · 02/07/2019 22:36

Nice house but furnished horrifically! Huge rooms with barely any furniture then a few tiny ones with ugly leather sofas chucked in where they don’t fit! Very odd!

keepingbees · 02/07/2019 22:36

Based on the fact it looks like a family live there and not an elderly couple looking to drastically and urgently downsize I'd say no Grin
I'd say it's overpriced though, I'd want something more special for that kind of money

RubberTreePlant · 02/07/2019 22:36

It's hideous.

stanski · 02/07/2019 22:39

Sorry. Not a fan

MsJaneAusten · 02/07/2019 22:39

I think you need to set your sights higher. That is not a dreamy enough.

This is a dream house

AllBirthdaysMatter · 02/07/2019 22:40

When people state it's over priced, have they actually checked what you can get for 800k in the area, and how much a 6 bed would cost?

It's not just about your own opinion on the wall paper.Hmm

Ginger1982 · 02/07/2019 22:41

People don't need to be so rude! Just because it's not YOUR dream house doesn't mean you should start slating the OP for it being here.

But no, you can't offer £150k for it OP. But it is nice to dream 😊

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 02/07/2019 22:41

I think I can get nicer for about a quarter of the price up here, Scotland. The gates look daft and it just looks like a soulless new build.

Daftasever · 02/07/2019 22:41

Well, it would seem that money certainly doesn’t buy taste...

PumpkinPieAlibi · 02/07/2019 22:42

Really, REALLY dated with terrible decor and strange features - the weird staircase/landing, the low walls next to the tall gate etc.

You can find something much nicer and a more manageable size (maybe 3 bedrooms and no attic/3rd floor) for half the price I'm sure

notso · 02/07/2019 22:42

Good grief it's awfully decorated.

Ribrabrob · 02/07/2019 22:43

I'm not trying to be rude as I'm genuinely just curious - is that really your dream house? If so, why?

I mean, I just feel it's nice... but nothing special really.

CaravanHero · 02/07/2019 22:44

Bit shit for the sellers to get told they've had an offer only to find out it's a total joke

This. I’m a tad (ok very) sensitive to this issue at the minute so possibly having a sense of humour failure...but I’m really irritated by the number of posters telling you to do it.

Sometimes people who are trying to sell a house are desperate...for all sorts of horrible, personal reasons.

Sometimes they’re in a massive pit of despair because they so desperately need to sell the house that the only other option they have if it doesn’t sell is to go throw themselves off the nearest bridge.

And to have that call from an Agent, giving them a moment of hope before finding out some thoughtless twat wanted a giggle could be more than someone could take.

Don’t fuck people around for your own amusement. You have no idea of some people’s circumstances and small actions can have very wide reaching consequences.

StinkinDrink · 02/07/2019 22:44

By the looks of the interior I dont think they are millionaires rolling around in enough money to take 650k less for their home.

I like your optimism though Grin

runoutofnamechanges · 02/07/2019 22:46

Oh that's hideous... more like my nightmare house. I would pay you £150k to take it, if it were mine. But it's not. Sorry.

Constance1234 · 02/07/2019 22:47

I'm interested in why this is your dream house?

Stormy76 · 02/07/2019 22:47

It looks like they are selling the house because they are running out furniture to sell.....it looks mostly empty

Seeingadistance · 02/07/2019 22:48

I think it's horrible just by the first photo, and that high gate looks really silly next to the low wall!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 02/07/2019 22:48

YABVU to want to live in Ridgeway! For 850k? No ta!

HuggedTheRedwoods · 02/07/2019 22:48

I'm not averse to bidding low but wouldnt put in a such an unrealistic bid, but would be entertaining to watch you do it and report back!
The house not for me either (those huge gates and the low wall for starters as previously mentioned) but each to their own. What is it that makes it your dream house OP?

Smellbowpenisbeaker · 02/07/2019 22:50

I was all for it until I thought of the initial excitement for the owners before they heard your offer. Don’t do it!

HuggedTheRedwoods · 02/07/2019 22:51

Just read Caravans post - agree, you dont know what the background is so it wouldnt be entertaining.

AlunWynsKnee · 02/07/2019 22:51

I bet it is echoey. All those hard surfaces and bare rooms.
