Following on from this -it was just getting interesting. Someone posted about how Meghan called herself a feminist but hadn’t earned the title. I was interested to know how you earned the title- but the thread ended.

I know who Prince Harry is just like I know who my neighbours are. Some I know very well & more about than others.
I don't know the exact minutiae of their lives.

I know many people who might not even know Harry’s name or that he exist. The royal family isn’t that important globally. Except to their fans

Of course she knew who he was. She didn’t say any different.

People can be so literal I honestly think she just meant she didn’t know much about him other than him being a prince who lives in Buckingham palace and that she wasn’t a keen royalist.. which sounds very believable to me.

Why i care ?? Because this is yet another example of why people are looking for ways to demonise her just because they have her issues with diversity. Which is precisely why I think she is breath of fresh air in this century so the British values can evolve a bit.

I remember watching the engagement interview and chuckling when she said the bit about not really knowing much about the RF and Harry. There did appear to be a sense of “the lady doth protest too much” but what other narrative could she have gone with? I mean presumably when she met Harry, she would have had to have given him the impression that she was only mildly interested and aware of the British RF rather than scaring him off before they’d even begun.

Yeah, course it is. All those threads about Harry. YouTube bursting at the seams with knocking copy about Harry. How could we have missed them?

But she didn’t say she didn’t know who he was, did she?

She said she didn’t know much about him, which sounds fair enough.

I think it was something like: I didn't know much about him, I just wanted to know if he was a good person, or something to that effect.

But there are rumours that she had met his cousin Mary Fellowes previously and was interviewed and befriended by her, although how close an association it was if true is speculative.

What would you do if you were going on a date with a very high profile and eligible man - arguably the most eligible bachelor in the UK. I know I'd be googling like hell!

So whilst perhaps not a out and out lie, it wasn't entirely true either.

I really can’t get worked up about ‘girl plays down how much she googled famous guy she was about to go out with’ when asked about it on TV.

I’m amused that you think that Harry and Meghan get equal amounts of analysis, criticism and “knocking copy”. Because they don’t.

I'm not sure why people think they're attention seeking?

They have posted photos of all major events and had a public wedding. This is normal for royals isn't it?

It's literally just the baby that they seem to have kept out of the public eye a little and he's not as high profile as the Cambridge children so why are people so keen to see him?

Photos are put on instagram so I guess people who aren't interested can just choose not to look?

I resent being lectured to by any royal on environmental and other worthy issues so H&M, W&K, Charles and the rest of them irritate me no end in that respect.
