Following on from this -it was just getting interesting. Someone posted about how Meghan called herself a feminist but hadn’t earned the title. I was interested to know how you earned the title- but the thread ended.

And you listed all those things about Kate as though they were stunts she had pulled not just some rumours that crazies had posted on tumblr or wherever.

Honestly I wish people would stop pitting the 2 women against each other it is so dull.

As opposed to all the measured, gospel truth, fully evidenced criticisms of Meghan? Grin

Ummm why was my post deleted - I don't think it was against talk guidelines. But clearly I am unfamiliar with them as you can say Kate gave a bj on a balcony and that's fine??

And for the millionth time, many of us don't believe all the crap about Meghan either. But there is no need to constantly drag both women down it is dull and misogynistic.

Often the daily mail is picked out as the paper with subsequent comments btl being the only ones anti mm. Not true. When the telegraph allows comments, they are equally as negative and fed up with mm and ph. As are the comments in the daily express. In fact all newspapers that allow comments on articles about mm, the comment are nearly all negative.
Nothing will change.
She doesn't care. The more the press moan about all the pda's while supposedly working, the more she clings on to him.
She claims to never read the press. Yet she hires expensive pr to get the public to like her.
I think she is extraordinarily fake and this is why she will never be popular.

The day those commenting at the bottom of The Telegraph, The Daily Mail and The Daily Express are in agreement with Meghan is the day that Meghan should fear.

Any reasonably intelligent person would be deeply embarrassed to find themselves applauded by those swivel-eyed loons.

I think the criticism of MM goes a lot deeper than that short list.

The whole christening/godparents thing is a whole lot of nothing, faux outrage stirred up by the papers. The ad is absolute cringe, I actually laughed it was so cheesy. But none of these things explain the reaction some people have to the DoS.

mrscampbellblackagain · 04/07/2019 12:04

An ableist slur! Did I? I do apologise if I did.

And I'm not a royalist. But something about the criticism of the DoS sets my teeth on edge.

I thought the scented candles were considered a fire hazard in the chapel?

BertrandRussell · 04/07/2019 12:19

“I thought the scented candles were considered a fire hazard in the chapel?“

Only if Meghan lights them..

Is it weird that the thing which disturbs me most from that list is the utter cheeky fuckery of confiscating people's phones just because they are on the same island?
I hope K&W's bodyguards were told to fuck off if they really did try to do that. My phone would have to be prided from my cold, dead hands Grin

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/07/2019 12:21

Why are they a fire hazard only if Meghan lights them?

The weddings were at different venues, maybe fire regulations are different for the different locations.

BertrandRussell · 04/07/2019 12:25

“Why are they a fire hazard only if Meghan lights them? ”

Sorry. The Grin was silent...

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 04/07/2019 12:32

The candle thing was more about how ghastly MM was to even consider scented candles as an option. And people seemed to really lean into that. The fact that she dared to consider the idea was the crime. Which is why it's so interesting to read that the DoC wanted candles too. I did not know that.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/07/2019 13:41

Hang on - what's the thing about public money being used to pay for the Middleton's home? Or Closer magazine mentioning BJs, come to that (I thought the fuss was about topless photos)?

Does anyone have reputable links to either of these please?

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 04/07/2019 14:14

I'm sorry but all this "how dare they keep the godparents private" outrage is bollox. They're keeping this private (probably on good advice) because the media have been vile to them.

Guarantee if they released the names, they'd be called attention seekers and the godparents themselves would be subject to an undercover expose about their lives and credentials.

They can't win! How can they be too flashy yet too private at the same time??

IABUQueen · 04/07/2019 14:52

Yh I honestly think the same ppl being vile about M&H decision to be private about certain things will be the same people to be vile about the details if they had been out.

I honestly think the issue is that there are certain people looking for ways to tear her down and I think she did the right thing by not giving them ammunition. I would too.

And for those chanting about this is what taxes are paying for, not really. It doesn’t serve the royal family’s reputation to have her be torn to pieces, and I doubt the taxpayer is sooo keen on the public image of the monarchy else they would’ve had a problem with what’s circulating about them instead of indulging.

I’m not a royalist still. My passion on this topic is surprising me. It’s the hypocrisy of it all that I don’t like

ajandjjmum · 04/07/2019 14:56

I doubt you'll get any reputable links - can't think why!
