I managed to get out of it The80s but not without losing my purse.

DisputedChair · 30/06/2019 21:42

God, I’m loving the Cure.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/06/2019 21:42

He hasn't lost his voice like so many others. Love the Cure. I saw them at Crystal Palace Bowl many many years ago.

TapasForTwo · 30/06/2019 21:42

Loving The Cure. The musicality of the guitar playing and Robert Smith's voice is magical.

medusawashere · 30/06/2019 21:43

Bloody hell, I'm only five years away from 40 and not only do I go to festivals like Glastonbury, I'm probably in that band you dance to on the smaller (but equally as fun) stages at festivals like Glasto and IOW.

Shit, I'll have to tell the band I can't do Boomtown this year. A random Mumsnetter thinks it's "tragic" to enjoy big festivals over a certain age!

Also, half of us in the band would have to stay home next year as well.

Screw that, 30/40/50/60/70/80 who gives a shiny shite?

borntobequiet · 30/06/2019 21:43

Everything is slightly tragic after a certain age. Who cares? Have fun while you can.

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 21:43

His voice really hasn't changed.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/06/2019 21:45

Bloody hell a quick Google tells me that concert was 29 years ago.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:45

You wouldn't get me in a mosh pit for love or money! I've seen the war wounds this weekend.

tomtom1999xx · 30/06/2019 21:47

He looks ridiculous with that hair though, & I bloody love him.

LaLaLamp · 30/06/2019 21:48

I saw The Cure at Hyde Park last year...got right to the front. At the grand old age of 55. Stick that up your arse OP Grin

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:48

They are quite alternative and a bit rocky too. They were never on my radar much as a kid.

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 21:49

Were you wheeled up the front by a carer from the home, LaLa? Grin

PinkieTuscadero · 30/06/2019 21:51

Love this song sooo much

Jellykat · 30/06/2019 21:51

medusawashere which band??
My first boyfriend is the CEO of Boomtown apparently Grin

LaLaLamp · 30/06/2019 21:53

@PinkieTuscadero ooh yes, obvs
I'm down with the kids, me Smile

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:54

Their playing is first rate isn't it?

Roundtheislands · 30/06/2019 21:54

His voice is incredible

Bearbehind · 30/06/2019 21:56

This is totally shite - has he even spoken to the crowd yet?

The Cure were around before most of them were born.

Zero atmosphere

Jellykat · 30/06/2019 21:56

Hope they do Lullaby, my fav!

sweeneytoddsrazor · 30/06/2019 21:57

They are great. He does sound exactly the same as he did all those years ago.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:57

He hasn't spoken to anyone yet.

Magpie1976 · 30/06/2019 21:57

stooriehoose I was there in 1995 too (what a great year)and saw both the cure and elastica. Elastica were on in the daytime. Unless they played twice. Happy days

Justmuddlingalong · 30/06/2019 21:58

I've ignored Glastonbury this year. Apart from checking when The Cure were on and tuning in just for that. I'm not disappointed. 👍

What's this instrument called?
