Yes, it looks a bad idea in the middle of a packed field.

I do like the intro music by the chemical brothers. The 'hmm hmm' bit is fun.
Jo whiley never ages does she?

ZaZathecat · 30/06/2019 21:23

Pah! YAVBU.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:25

Yes, Billie and Eddie! Patsy would be jealous.

LaLaLamp · 30/06/2019 21:25

I wonder if shepees are a thing...remember them coming out a few years back

Redcrayons · 30/06/2019 21:27

I used to spend hours getting my hair to look like Robert Smith. 30 years later I wake up every morning looking like that and spend hours making it look normal.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:28

Robert Smith is 60 !

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2019 21:29

He's still with Mary. I remember reading about her in Smash Hits in the 80's Grin

Jellykat · 30/06/2019 21:30

Grin Redcrayons, me too!

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:31

Bless, a celebrity pairing that has lasted.
I'm not a big cure fan but I like 'Friday I'm in love'
Aging goths now.

Redcrayons · 30/06/2019 21:32

@JaneJeffer and me. I just said 'ah he's still with Mary'

Raahh · 30/06/2019 21:33

The Cure!

This reminds me of taking Dh to a Jesus and Mary chain gig last year. Their first tour for years. I'm not a fan, but I enjoyed it, in a 'I wish I was still 15 ' kind of way.

howdyalikemenow · 30/06/2019 21:33

David Fucking Attenborough.
Legend
Boom.

93 and at Glasto.

Good enough for me

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2019 21:34

Redcrayons isn't it mad the things one remembers and yet I can walk into the kitchen and forget what I went in for!

Raahh · 30/06/2019 21:34

how

Grin

I love David. There will never be another David.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:36

Rob's guitar is lovely. It Looks an expensive bit of kit.
So 50 years next year since all this started.
Who should they roll out to celebrate?

Redcrayons · 30/06/2019 21:37

@Raahh. Oh I went to see Jesus and The Mary Chain in the olden days. They came on, played all their songs one after the other really really loud then went off when they'd finished. No talking between songs, no encore just finished. Hopefully they've learnt a bit more performance now.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:37

I'm the same. So forgetful these days. Things just go straight out of my mind.
It is a bit scary!
These are quite soulful aren't they?

StoorieHoose · 30/06/2019 21:37

I've just realised that in 1995 when the Cure headlined I went to see Elastica instead of them. What a young fool I was!

PolkadotLollipop · 30/06/2019 21:38

He still sounds the same.

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2019 21:38

Me too Redcrayons Grin the mosh pit was mental!

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 30/06/2019 21:38

Rob Smith's voice is still fecking incredible x

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 30/06/2019 21:39

DP and I are seeing The Cure in Glasgow next month, can't wait Grin

Although obvs we're too old for all that...

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2019 21:39

Robert Smith is a perfectionist when it comes to how they sound.

The80sweregreat · 30/06/2019 21:40

Ds2 was in a mosh sat night in Margate at a gig and someone pushed him over. Huge bruises on his knees! They are dangerous places to be.

Jellykat · 30/06/2019 21:40

I agree, Robert Smiths voice still sounds exactly the same!
