@PJMasksGhekko My FWB is performing before Kylie, I’m chuffed that I’ll get to avoid her set, I think it will be really busy for her, she does deserve a legends slot.

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:28

I will be singing along to Kylie too!
With my wine and crisps.
She's cheese but mature cheese

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:29

People i know either full on adore Muse or really can't stand them.

ShinyMe · 29/06/2019 21:30

Thinking about it - I don't feel Muse engaged with the audience as a newbie. When I saw Gogol Bordello, I knew one song, but as soon as they started I knew what they were singing about and felt that they cared and it was something important, and they interacted with the audience and it didn't matter than I'd never heard the songs before. Same with Tom Morello. But I couldn't tell you what a single song was about in the hour I saw of Muse, or what songs they sung, or what the lyrics were or anything really. I felt like it was all for the ones who already knew, if that makes sense.

FUneighbour · 29/06/2019 21:30

I'm in my early 40s and was just thinking I quite fancy going to Glastonbury. I've been to the town itself and loved it and the festival looks like a fun experience. Age shouldn't dictate what you enjoy.

northernruth · 29/06/2019 21:30

I think its a bit sad, but then I don't see how anyone is actually enjoying "live music" from half a mile away at the back of a field. I'd rather see the bands in a proper club when they tour in the autumn. I'm 52 Wink

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:30

Muse are marmite but Uprising is one of my fav songs. It's so raw.
Ds1 and 2 hate it when I put it on. They hate them!

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:30

He’s out some timber onthough. Bit of a fat neck.

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:31

God knows who chose this set. Roll w it is rubbish.

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:32

Put timber on not out. Bloody stupid autocorrect.

MiniMum97 · 29/06/2019 21:32

You've obviously never been. Loads of different types of people and ages go. It is amazingly diverse actually and I don't think anyone of any type or age would feel like an odd one out. I first went to Glastonbury when I was over 40. It was brilliant.

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:32

Miley Cyrus is on the lineup. Oh, no no no.

On the upside so is Mavis Staples!

StoorieHoose · 29/06/2019 21:33

When pulp headlined in 1995 I was about half a mile away from the stage and couldn't see a thing cos it was still packed that far back but God it was a life highlight and I thoroughly enjoyed every note

PJMasksGhekko · 29/06/2019 21:33

SimonJT what is FWB? Friends with benefits? I'm intrigued Grin

The80sweregreat I need to keep the small child quiet and the dog Grin

omafiet · 29/06/2019 21:33

I agree, OP! If I was somehow made to go, I'd have a face like Victoria Beckham Grin

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:33

Oh and Janelle Monae. I've been obsessed with her lately.

ShinyMe · 29/06/2019 21:33

@The80sweregreat - yeah, it was disappointing. But that's how it goes, and I've had far more hits than misses in my experimental gig going. And it meant I got out of the car park before the crowds, and was home in bed at a reasonable time.

VictoriaBun · 29/06/2019 21:34

We will be discussing that it's grim that people over 50 dare to still have sex still

Justgorgeous · 29/06/2019 21:34

Hate attitudes like this, so ageist and narrow minded. Bore off.

SimonJT · 29/06/2019 21:34

@PJMasksGhekko It is indeed.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 29/06/2019 21:35

I actually wish it would go back to being a diverse range of ages instead of the young Instagram crowd Wink
Makes it far better imo.

I volunteer with the biggest agency on site and we have loads of volunteers 50-70+

It's getting to be a pretty popular bracket Grin

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:35

Yes, intrigued, @SimonJT. Have you got a freebie ticket as a +1 of a performer?

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:36

Shiny , nothing like your own bed after a night out!
I hope Kylie does her old hits and none of the new country stuff she was singing a while back. We want the locomotion.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 29/06/2019 21:39

I meant to say I cited 50-70+ as our volunteers drop off a bit in the 30-40 bracket - settling down and having kids. Some return with their babies/young kids but only the truly devoted (it's requires certain logistics).
Empty nesters and retirees abound Smile

I'm off to read the rest of the thread from the start Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 29/06/2019 21:39

The80sweregreat I 'm sure it will be hits heavy, and the Locomotion will be the one from the Golden tour, which is soooo good.
