Ds1 went to see the foals at ally pally last week. They are weird but I like the singers shirt!

MondeoFan · 29/06/2019 20:53

I think festivals are for any age. When I was younger I prob wouldn't have said that but I do think so now. After all the music is what it's all about

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 20:54

Yeah, i’m not into JJ. That’s why I’m enjoying the musical talents of Foals.

I bet that security guy was shitting himself holding our man on his crowdsurf moment in the crowd.

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 20:56

He has nice eyelashes.

Emmapeeler · 29/06/2019 20:58

I could be persuaded to make an exception for our man

Me too Smile

He must be hot in that beard though?

Quintella · 29/06/2019 20:58

I like him. Can't stand a whey faced indie boy but he's got body hair and a good roar.

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 20:58

A bit of moshing going on! They are not fit me but he can work a crowd.
I'm 54 , so I best get off this thread.

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:00

The killers are on soon. I think Brandon is getting on a bit too so maybe he should retire?

ShinyMe · 29/06/2019 21:00

I really enjoyed Foals there. Enough to want to look them up and consider a gig. They only seem to be doing abroad and festivals this summer, but I'll keep an eye out - depending on venue, I'd see them live, they were good.

IcedPurple · 29/06/2019 21:01

He must be hot in that beard though?

I think the general consensus here is that he is indeed quite hot.

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:02

Yeah, they were good. Liam Gallagher coming up. He is my long standing crush (despite being a total bellend, I know).

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:02

The light there looks gorgeous.

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:04

Liam singing his brothers songs! Bless him. M and s top

MyGastIsFlabbered · 29/06/2019 21:05

If I get tickets for next year I may well make a ODFOD sign Grin

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:05

Please make a sign for us oldies!

howdyalikemenow · 29/06/2019 21:07

@The80sweregreat noooooo don't go! Stay and enjoy glasto with the rest of us tragic oldies!

ShinyMe · 29/06/2019 21:08

I just realised I have Glastonbury to thank for my live music thing. I was idly watching in 2009 and Bruce Springsteen was on, who I remembered vaguely enjoying when Born in the USA was out in the 80s. His set was superb, and I had had some wine, and before I knew it I'd thought 'that looks fun' and I'd bought flights to Dublin and concert tickets for a week later and there I was at my first ever live gig in a stadium full of however many thousand people, and that was that. I've seen Bruce maybe 10 or 11 times now, and quite a lot of others (none as good, but that's just me).

I'm low key looking forward to the Killers later. I saw them a couple of years ago, they were decent. Nothing amazing, and more style than substance (I'm there for the music, not the fancy lights and sparkly costumes) but enjoyable, and a lot of hits.

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:08

Everyone over 40 can carry one of these.

Glastonbury slightly tragic after a certain age
notacooldad · 29/06/2019 21:09

Think it's a bit hmmseeing mums on tour pretending to be down with the kids. Makes me cringe.
I take the view that I don't want to get down to be with the kids.
I'm old, Ive got over 4 decades of gig going, know what I like. The kids have a lot of catching up to do!

The80sweregreat · 29/06/2019 21:09

I'm here with my gin and tonic rocking out to what's the story ., ( still my fav cd of all time)

Quintella · 29/06/2019 21:09

I bloody love that, @ShinyMe!

ShinyMe · 29/06/2019 21:11

I should add - I'm definitely on the lookout for a band I can follow and enjoy like I do Bruce, who let's face it isn't getting any younger and doesn't tour much (although he may in 2020 apparently). The only ones who've come close for me recently are Tom Morello, and a gypsy punk band called Gogol Bordello and a brass band (yes really) called Lucky Chops. But Foals may be another...

spinderella78 · 29/06/2019 21:12

Each to their own.

Don't see a problem.

Although at 42 it's my idea of hell.

But then I'd have thought that at 22!

PolkadotLollipop · 29/06/2019 21:12

I’m a definitely maybe woman, @The80sweregreat.

Don’t rate this lot much.
