Not to have realised until now that Joey Maynard’s ‘displaced organ’ was a prolapse?

I know there is or was an enormous Chalet School thread but I can’t spend six weeks trawling through that.

Fascinated to note (because I’ve been reading the complete synopses how all the CS women taken seriously ill either went straight to the San or journeyed - over days - for a consultation with Sir James Talbot. It was he who diagnosed said ‘displaced organ’. At which point Joey had iirc nine children. May be wrong, lost count.

(I read and reread the entire series over my first three decades.)

I saw the pics when I got on last week but I don’t think they’re Bertrand’s kids. I suspect the pics have been on there for years.
I thought it looked like a group of brownies or guides or something but from what I can remember they weren’t close ups.

Papergirl1968 · 09/07/2019 15:45

If Nell responds i will ask her if they can be deleted.
Well done to your dd for getting in though. When the photos issue is sorted, can you share how she did it?!

Jemima232 · 09/07/2019 16:00

PaperGirl1968

The photos can only be deleted by Bertrand AFAIK.

Yes, I will share whatever DD did once I get the all-clear.

BertrandRussell · 09/07/2019 16:07

Oh, sorry- I didn’t realise you thought they were my pictures! Having a dim day. I can’t get into the link anyway- so if they are mine there’s nothing I can do about it. I don’t think they can be mine- my children are well past birthday party age, and I don’t have any digital images of a time when they weren’t Unless by “party” you mean a group of lads with pints.......

Papergirl1968 · 09/07/2019 16:33

I think Nell or whoever created the account put them on there.

parkrunhun · 09/07/2019 16:42

@Papergirl1968 please may I have the link too ! Looking forward to reading with my kaffee und kuchen! Danke

Papergirl1968 · 09/07/2019 16:55

Yep, just bear with us until we sort out the technical issue which has locked us out of the account and these photos of children on there. Only Jemima can get in at the moment, thanks to her IT savvy dd!

TailsoftheManyPaws · 09/07/2019 17:06

I imagine it’s locked everyone out of the OneDrive because it’s recently been accessed by so many different devices all using the same email from different physical locations - probably set some alarm bells ringing.

Doubleraspberry · 09/07/2019 17:24

Absolutely. It will have tripped warnings about a breached account.

Jemima232 · 09/07/2019 17:25

Sorry Bertrand

I have finally joined all the dots and realised that of course the pictures could not have been yours.

Duh.

Jemima232 · 09/07/2019 17:26

But DD accessed the file long after everyone started posting about being locked out.

Apileofballyhoo · 09/07/2019 22:50

Can DD download all the files? Are they PDFs? We could start a drop box?

Apileofballyhoo · 09/07/2019 22:51
Jemima232 · 09/07/2019 23:07

DD has emailed the first book to me as an attachment.

I'll ask her to email the rest. Then they'll all be PDFs.

QuaterMiss · 09/07/2019 23:34

Oh, good Lord ...

@QuaterMiss

Gels who have been brought up holding the traditions of the Chalet School to their hearts always put themselves out for the general good of others.

Wow. That sounds pompous and insufferable.

Yep - I'm a CS girl until I die.

QuaterMiss · 09/07/2019 23:44

Guess you could delegate to prefects and the Head of Middle School.

Or just leave it all to Anna ...

@Jemima232 - pretty please could I have an emailed copy? S’il vous plait? Por favor? ( I didn’t do German, apologies....)

Jemima232 · 10/07/2019 00:11

@QuaterMiss

WiFi is not allowed in the servants' quarters in the best homes in Argyll (and Bute.)

QuaterMiss · 10/07/2019 07:17

ATTENTION ALL

May I suggest that everyone holds off from requests while a suitable method of sharing the material (and the effort of sharing it) is formulated. I’m sure no one here could expect one or two people to meet probably endless requests for pdfs of around 60 books. Just bear in mind that if things get out of hand the thread becomes unviable ...

BertrandRussell · 10/07/2019 07:24

@Jemima232 - don’t start emailing! You won’t be able to keep up even if “you try with both hands for a fortnight”!

How about a Dropbox, maybe? We are sure this is legal?

BertrandRussell · 10/07/2019 07:25

Oops- sorry @QuaterMiss- cross posts.

Apileofballyhoo · 10/07/2019 09:28

Drop box I'm sure would be easier. Unless we figure out a system. If you receive a mail you forward it to the next person on the list? So we all do one person?

Also can we award a medal to Jemima's DD?

BertrandRussell · 10/07/2019 09:48

Definitely a medal. But at the idea of an email chain! The level of organisation required makes me feel quite exhausted....

Jemima232 · 10/07/2019 11:53

Bertrand I lost sleep over the thought of emailing 62 books to eager recipients over the next several weeks.

I confess that I do not know what a drop-box is, although I have heard of them.
