I can have takeaway or make something easy myself.

If you could have anything, what would you have?

Now I want Chinese:

Chicken in Cantonese fruity sauce (from one specific Chinese which is 20@ miles away)
Noodles with beansprouts
Crispy chilli beef
Prawn toast
Chips

(This entire thread, my friends, is unrestrained Guilty Pleasures at its finest!)

For the cheese fans out there:
Get your hands upon the biggest, most oozing, creamy, buttery, fresh Burrata you can track down.
Behold the Burrata.
Take time to respect its imminent sacrifice.
Eat with towering stack of salty crackers/ garlic olives/ tiny tomatoes/ kettle chips etc.
Warm, crusty baguette. Cold butter. Pickles.
Large glass of what you fancy.
If kids not needing to be factored into equation, make that SEVERAL glasses of what you fancy...

You will NOT regret it.
And no cooking/prep required. Win win.

M&S crispy duck and prawn toasts are very good. But gooey cheese and fresh bread is a good choice too. How about top quality aged steak with excellent pesto, Jersey Royals and green salad? (Next time)

MotherWol · 27/06/2019 15:34

DH is out tonight, dinner will probably be some kind of egg thing because it's easy and quick. Maybe shakshuka with some halloumi on top, and toast.

Blueandredandblue · 27/06/2019 15:38

I would have fish because my kids hate the smell. Then I'd have alcohol. Amount depending on what your responsibilities are tomorrow

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 27/06/2019 15:39

Is that double cheese I spy there, OP? Nice workSmile

CampfireZen · 27/06/2019 15:48

Ooh, good call, MotherWol. Haven't made that for years.
Thanks for the inspiration!

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 27/06/2019 15:51

Thai food. Tom yum soup and prawn pad thai noodles. Mmmm.
And if I was feeling extra I'd get a tub of icecream and a coke. I actually want this now!

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 27/06/2019 15:52

oooh actually yes baked Camembert & french bread. Strong choice!

RedWineAllMine · 27/06/2019 15:55

Indian takeaway with mushroom or garlic fried rice or Chinese!
Or pop down to M&S and splash out on something that looks tasty 🤤

NabooThatsWho · 27/06/2019 15:58

Takeaway Indian or Mexican.

arseholewednesday · 27/06/2019 16:01

It is indeed double cheese Grin

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 27/06/2019 16:31

Double cheese. Would recommend a side of Gavasgon with that for the heartburn which will follow, but it’s worth it. That first dip of bread into a melty cheese....😍

MotherOfTheNoise · 27/06/2019 16:31

Baked Camembert, crusty bread, pate, pickles, tomatoes...basically a little deli board all for me. With a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down! This will be me on Saturday night, I CANT WAIT!!

30not13 · 27/06/2019 17:00

A bowl of 11p curry noodles.

leghairdontcare · 27/06/2019 17:01

Nachos: warmed in the oven with cheese, jalelpenos, hot sauce and chorizo. Add tons of salsa, sour cream and guacamole for dipping.

I do approve of your cheese based choice though.

NEtoN10 · 27/06/2019 17:09

Baked Camembert and a big crusty baguette plus some tasty snack things like olives or nice meats and some cold white wine. Also cherries are lovely at the moment.

Spicy food! Thai green papaya salad from our local and a spicy curry. Our kids love bland, mostly spiceless food, and it is getting OLD.

SpanglyPop · 27/06/2019 17:14

Always always a massive fat enormous chinese takeaway with wine and some brilliant film on the telly

SpanglyPop · 27/06/2019 17:15

Cant get my head round all these people that would choose salad and fruit and veg in this instance. No OP. Tonight is not the night for a fucking salad. Dont be swayed. Enjoy your food freedom.

Halloumimuffin · 27/06/2019 17:17

Ooh camembert and bread, drool.

I'm craving lamb biryani so I think I'll make that and treat myself, you've inspired me!

ImportantWater · 27/06/2019 19:28

Cant get my head round all these people that would choose salad and fruit and veg in this instance.

My DC would hoover up pizza, pasta, chicken, steak, etc but show them a mushroom, onion, leek, butternut squash, any green leafy vegetable, asparagus..they are out the door. So if they are not there I'm all over any veg that isn't carrot, broccoli, peas or sweetcorn.

ZenNudist · 27/06/2019 20:51

@Sammi38 its kabanos sausage. Its polish but you can get them at supermarkets with the cold meats. I like the mini ones from Sainsbury's but you can get long ones from delis. The beauty is you can slice them thinly and they are good eaten cold or hot with pasta or scrambled egg/ in omelettes.
