I can have takeaway or make something easy myself.

If you could have anything, what would you have?

Right now I could eat a whole stick of crunchy bread with half a block of Lurpak.

Ninkaninus · 27/06/2019 13:53

I’m Danish. 😊 🇩🇰Haven’t lived there for most of my adult life...

You can’t get crispy duck there??

I think you might have completely cured my homesickness!

Somuchroom · 27/06/2019 13:54

A chilli that’s so spicy you sweat one out eating it. My dh is spicephobic.

Magmatic80 · 27/06/2019 13:54

Id be going to farm shop on way home and buying a two lamb burgers, and getting cheap sesame seed buns. I’d swing by M&S and get a tub of clotted cream chocolate icecream and posh cheese slices. And some tortilla chips and dip to have alongside burgers. And a lovely drink

I’d be cooking burgers indoors as bbq is such a faff, then I’d sit in garden in the sun and eat it all.

Best thing is, this is ACTUALLY what I’m having tonight Smile

I was home alone the other night and had a baked Camembert with a small amount of toasted crusty bread (shouldn’t have any as diet controlled T2), raw sugar snap peas to dunk, a few cherry toms, and some wine.

It required 5 mins prep, if that, and was delicious!

Snowy81 · 27/06/2019 13:55

Indian- chicken biryani with vegetable curry

Chinese- chicken and sweet corn soup, chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and egg friend rice.

Pizza- cheese and tomato

Kebab- chicken shish and lamb shish with salad and mint sauce

Cooking- triple cooked chips, mushrooms and onions in butter, peas, steak, peppercorn sauce and fresh bread

Easy cook- scrambled egg with spinach and black pepper on fresh seeded bread.

M&S party food is winning right now!!!

OP posts:
Ninkaninus · 27/06/2019 13:56

M&S party food is pretty good...

Goodenough06 · 27/06/2019 13:56

Mmmm if it were just me this evening to cook for I would have a really spicy prawn and chicken Thai green curry with sticky coconut rice...washed down with a massive, ice cold bottle of beer. (8.5 months pregnant and missing it!).

I miss spicy food so much as it's normally just me and my 2 year old eating.

If you like eggy bread, Google Nigella' s recepie for doughnut French toast. So SO GOOD and really easy. Even nicer if you have posh bread.

arseholewednesday · 27/06/2019 13:57

My top three

Baked Camembert/ fondue with crusty bread

Eggy bread

M&S party food

Then there's always either Chinese or Indian

👋 ninkaninus thought you might be from your username 😁.
Think you have to be in cph or have better take away options than we do (30 km north from cph). Could you send some through the internet? 😂

KittyWindbag · 27/06/2019 13:58

Massive platter of nachos and loads of wine or margarita
Nachos :
Shake a load of nice nacho chips on a baking tray
Cover in salsa (homemade if already have some in Tupperware, out of a jar if not) mash some avocado and smooth that over. Sprinkle a fuck ton of cheese over. Add some pickled jalapeños and maybe some chopped black olives if have some in a jar. Put under grill for a bit. Devour with lots of drinks and a brilliant movie.

KittyWindbag · 27/06/2019 13:59

Smoked salmon on crusty bread with cream cheese, plus Camembert and Brie with crackers is another fave. Again, lots of wine to go with.

scaryteacher · 27/06/2019 13:59

I would wander over the road to the fritkot, and have a steak roquefort and frites with a Kriek (cherry beer), and read my Kindle.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 27/06/2019 14:00

massive tray of nachos with loads of guac and sour cream.

Heronwatcher · 27/06/2019 14:01

In this weather, I agree with baked Camembert or sloppy Brie, French bread, salad bits (nice radishes, sugar snap peas etc) and a crisp green apple to dunk, with a cold glass of white wine or Prosecco.

HappyNOTdriving · 27/06/2019 14:03

If you are going to m&s then it has to be dirty fries or as we like to call them stinking chips

They are lovely but terrible for you!

BatFacedGirl · 27/06/2019 14:05

I'd indulge myself in my guilty pleasure - Harvester herb battered halloumi with fries followed by a huge sundae

ItWentInMyEye · 27/06/2019 14:07

Crusty baguette with Tex mex dips and loads of different cheeses. Soft goat/Boursin/blackstick blue 😍

Aebj · 27/06/2019 14:08

Chinese or India take away with a bottle of wine. Sounds fantastic

hellhavenofury · 27/06/2019 14:09

I am on my own tonight too! I am having chicken nuggets, potato smiley faces and peas :D Yes I am over 10 years old!!

KnobJockey · 27/06/2019 14:11

I would probable drive home via the chippy and get a bag of chips, maybe some mushy peas or curry sauce to dip. Eat on the way home.

Then when I get home it would be something child like or partyish in the oven from the freezer, if I had it in. So chicken goujons, fishfingers, smily faces, mini sausage rolls, that sort of thing.

If I didn't have it in the freezer, then indian takeaway delivered. For me it would be either chicken korma, tikka masala or a passander with chips and rice, and a garlic naan to dunk in it. I end up going for creamy when ordering as it's harder to make a good creamy dish than tomatoey dish.

I wouldn't wash it all down with wine either, depending on how I was feeling it would be a bottle of coder or some chocolate milk.

Alternatively, if you've no kids at home, why not embrace it and drag a friend out for a last minute pub dinner?

Sundancer77 · 27/06/2019 14:12

My dream at the moment..! If I was alone I’d have crisps and dips/nachos or a takeaway pizza and lots of wine 🍷 I’d watch lots of good films, listen to my favourite music and sleep all night ahh

KnobJockey · 27/06/2019 14:13

@hellhavenofury x-post on the chicken nuggets and smiley faces there! Leave off the peas though, there's no place for veg when you're cooking for one. Just have some white bread and butter and tomato ketchup instead.

Ninkaninus · 27/06/2019 14:16

It’s a deal as long as you can send me some røde pølser, pølsebrød, all the trimmings, two bottles of remoulade and 5kg of proper salty liquorice! 👍👍👍

TIA!
