I'm on the cusp of starting to make and sell my own handmade ice cream at farmers markets etc and I'll be selling from a traditional style ice cream bike. I don't do 'standard' flavours, so you'd find flavours like Eton Mess, Peanut Butter & Caramel or Rhubarb Crumble, plus a vegan flavour / sorbet.

Recipes are developed and tested, kitchen is being modified to keep environmental health happy and the bike is awaiting delivery. But - I need a name for my business! Without it I can't set up my website etc...

I need something that suggests

  • premium quality
  • something that's a bit different to the norm
  • possibly a hint at the environmental / zero waste ethos

I'm in Wales but I've been avoiding place related names as I want the option to expand in future, and I can't be certain that the business will always be bike-based so I've been avoiding explicitly bike-related names.

Possibly something like Creamery, The Scoop, The Project, The _ Ice Cream Co but I'm very open to suggestions! Help please hivemind...

Bit Flakey

Just coming back to this thread after having slept on it

What do people think about Daisy & Belle Ice Cream Co.?

It's a mixture of a reference to cows (Daisy), Daisy Bell (the song about the bicycle made for two) and follows the commonly used pattern of two names 🤔

Daisy and Belle works imo. I don't love it but it doesn't jar. Sounds pretty country kitchen/twee to my ear. It conjures up images of gingham and doilies.

Just bringing back what you originally stated
"Premium quality
something that's a bit different to the norm
possibly a hint at the environmental / zero waste ethos "
I think it works for 'a bit different' but not really the other two.

If you love it then go for it.

MrsGaryLightbody · 27/06/2019 14:04

Daisy and belle yes but the whole co thingy doesn't sound well spoken aloud.. there is a company called daisy and boo and I thought that always sounds sweet.
Daisy belle in one word or hyphenated?

Al203 · 27/06/2019 14:41

Sounds perfect!

It is also available at Co House

Or Just DaisyBelle

Belle and Daisy

I agree the "Co" sounds odd.

MightyAtlantic · 27/06/2019 15:33

I love it, OP! Good luck with the business.

mumtobe1984 · 27/06/2019 15:34

how about your family name followed by Scoop or Creamery - I like both of those! I would think fancy!

Its a scoop

Yawninfinitum · 27/06/2019 18:03

Hmmm daily and belle is a bit twee maybe? I’d assume you named it after your daughters.

It’s not jarring tho and wouldn’t make me cringe or put me off

On the cow theme you could have
Marigold cones
Marigold ices
Marigold scoops

Bella scoop

MerryMarigold · 27/06/2019 18:17

I like Daisy and Belle. I don't think you need the Ice cream co bit. It's a bit wordy and for some reason it makes the names more twee. I think you can imply the eco side of things with the logo, labelling, product packaging etc. Eg. A commitment to no plastic.

MerryMarigold · 27/06/2019 18:19

I think I like it because it's an obvious nod to Ben and Jerry's so it's pretty clever.

AnotherEmma · 27/06/2019 19:09

"Sounds pretty country kitchen/twee to my ear. It conjures up images of gingham and doilies."

Yep

"What do people think about Daisy & Belle Ice Cream Co.?"
Daisy and Belle sounds cute. Contrary to what others have said, I really like the 'Ice Cream Co.' bit as it says exactly what you are. I would still prefer (Surname's) Gourmet (or fine) Ice Cream Co. Daisy and Belle doesn't say quality or luxury to me. It says cute and twee.

Someone mentioned an example of Newton's so, even if it isn't your name, I think either:
Newton's Gourmet Ice Cream or Newton's Fine Ice Cream sound great. You could leave out the 'Co' if people find it a mouthful but register your company with that name.

I loved a PP's idea of branding and advertising with Dairy Godmother and spell binding flavours.

Daisy and belle is a bit twee and middle class for me, but maybe that's your market?

StoneofDestiny · 28/06/2019 00:02

Sounds a bit like a child's clothing line to me.
