I'm going to cry now.

HerRoyalNotness · 25/06/2019 00:23

Well yes. But if was young and single again and wanted to live in London, I’d consider it. I’d buy a toaster/grill oven thing and put on top of the fridge.

MrMeSeeks · 25/06/2019 00:31

Where’s the bathroom Sink?Confused

Boopeedoop · 25/06/2019 00:37

That's more than my mortgage on a 3 bed house! Shock

transformandriseup · 25/06/2019 00:41

I rent out my spacious 2 bedroom apartment for that price.
I dread to think where I would be living if I was in London.

Lucked · 25/06/2019 00:41

When people say they have a crash pad in the city I am usually thinking of something way more glamorous than that.

And the Let is agreed!

Coan · 25/06/2019 00:58

I've stayed in a place like that before, although in a different city not london.
I much preferred it to sharing with people and I'd take a washing machine over an oven any day! I didn't in mine and it was a complete pain in the arse going out to wash clothes.

skybluee · 25/06/2019 01:09

You can get these for about £40

encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcSdYX6GZDM9sxjh9Dm2Xh4qfMqW7X_yv0oAsGIOu0ihbuRMIO4F3WZ1PbuFvGVFPVrNovHQiOlSA2axO_6ivMmWikCBqhJIuFfC5j2knJ_BH01DvwSd8BTR&usqp=CAc

I don't really use the oven itself much.

It's better than one I've seen in Birmingham. I turned up and was led to the garden. They'd converted the garden shed - complete with shitty toilet, shower, and kitchen. When you sat on the bog your knees were under the sink. There were snail trails all over the repulsive carpet. Honestly, I almost cried. It was grotesque and rotting. And in the garden of a mansion. Think it was 300 or 350 a month, maybe should've reported it at the time (it was on gumtree). Yuck worst one I've seen. I ended up paying 350 all bills included (not phone) as a lodger in a massive house, but being a lodger didn't come without difficulties. For example she didn't let me leave my towels or bath stuff in the bathroom which made me feel weird :(

T00thandGumz · 25/06/2019 01:10

I've seen a few of these self contained studio flats for sale, in places not in London for sale £100k+
You are paying to be self contained

LarryGreysonsDoor · 25/06/2019 08:01

That link to the London Rental of the Week in Vice has kept me quiet for hours now.

It is dreadful but I can’t agree with the pearl clutching over the proximity of toilet to toothbrushes. I have a tiny bathroom and my toothbrushes are on the side next to the sink with is next to the toilet.
They have caps on and we always keep the lid down when we flush.

LuckyAmy1986 · 25/06/2019 08:07

I used to live in similar; the kitchen, shower, toilet and bed were all in the same room, and it was about the same size as the one in the photo. It was £900 a month and on Tower Bridge Road. It was one of the most depressing times of my life.

Bluerussian · 25/06/2019 14:19

I stayed somewhere like that in Brighton many years ago, only for one night. It was a sort of b&b without the breakfast! Not a problem because there are loads of places in Brighton that serve breakfast. It was £50 a night. The landlord of that place could be on to a winner if he let it out nightly to people visiting London but that would entail more work.

As I said before, there are worse places to let than that studio. If someone just wants a crash pad for a while, it's ideal. Well, maybe not ideal but acceptable.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 25/06/2019 14:27

I knew it would be in London just by the title!

We were shown something similar to this 7 years ago when we moved to London except it was for £950. Absolutely ridiculous
