To ask what it’s like to have a famous DH?

I’m just being nosy really, I bet there’s a few posters on here with partners who have achieved some level of fame. And no I don’t expect anyone to reveal identifying information!

What is it like though, knowing that random people admire your DH? Does it make them cocky, or make you feel uncomfortable when other women take an interest in them? I think I’d find it quite exposing and difficult tbh. I have a friend who was in a similar situation with a musician for three years and I know she found it hard.

RomanyQueen I was hoping you were Polly Samson Wink then I’d have had a little squeal and told you how much I love husband Grin

SmallBones · 22/06/2019 21:36

My grandad was a very famous entertainer in the 60s. We got papped at his funeral.

slt2b · 22/06/2019 21:53

he looks beautiful onscreen, he looks quite odd in the flesh

This makes me think of Cillian Murphy :) I hope he doesn't really look odd in the flesh though.

spugzbunny · 22/06/2019 21:54

@Fucktuates I think you've got it. There's been Mumsnet threads in the past about a crazy stalker

someoneontheinterweb · 22/06/2019 22:23

No one in my family is or is dating anyone famous, but when I was 18 and at college, my best friend of the time briefly dated a professional footballer. He wasn’t a national star at the time (has since been capped by his national team, and played in the premiership) but he was famous locally for being in the first team aged 17. Because of that, he couldn’t get served alcohol anywhere and wasn’t supposed to be seen in pubs. I don’t really remember why they didn’t work out, but I think she felt like she was dating someone much younger because of the restrictions of his profile.

I think Gidget could be Rowan Atkinson’s other half.
Although there are a lot of possible men to pick from !

Flippedouthere · 22/06/2019 22:49

Great grandfather was a premier league footballer - extremely famous in his day. We have newspaper clippings from his death (prematurely, alcholism sadly). Died before I was born. Several family have clear sporting talent, noteably my neice so watch this space Grin

MrsElizabethShelby · 22/06/2019 22:53

@Ronnieonions my guess is Warwick Davis. I know you won't confirm but I'm convinced!

bobstersmum · 22/06/2019 22:59

Oooh I love reading these and trying to guess. I'd love a famous friend never mind dh!

crispysausagerolls · 22/06/2019 23:11

Can’t people NC to say who their partners are? I’m so curious now!

FenellaVelour · 22/06/2019 23:16

Meline’s couldn’t be Cillian Murphy IMHO-i saw him in a play once and he was breathtakingly beautiful. Much more so than on screen I thought.

He is beautiful indeed. I have a huge crush.

It can’t be him, however, as he has been with his wife since he was about 18.

Greeborising · 22/06/2019 23:20

Imagine being married to Suranne Jones?
Poor sod, the whole world has turned gay for her
Bound to make you insecure

justasking111 · 22/06/2019 23:27

Good friends with someone who works on Hollywood movies. He talks about the beards, it is sad that so many actors have to hide to protect their careers. Knowing does give you a different slant when watching them acting though.

RonnieOnions · 22/06/2019 23:29

Loving the speculation about DH but will neither confirm nor deny!

DianaT1969 · 22/06/2019 23:30

I have a large head. Will I be famous? Could I make it as an actor?

justasking111 · 22/06/2019 23:31
Grin
JaneJeffer · 22/06/2019 23:43

I think Littlepond's DH is The Stig.

muycansada · 22/06/2019 23:55

My husband is famous. The worst thing for me is my dc finds it hard to deal with at school. Doesn’t like it if a parent or child says they saw dad on TV last night. In fact they insist it wasn’t him.

ToastieWarm · 22/06/2019 23:55

katseyes7, it's not SS is it? Have no idea what he looks like but know the name.

frerro654 · 23/06/2019 00:04

No famous dh but I played a part in the series of misfits on channel 4 🤷🏻‍♀️

HiItsClemFandango · 23/06/2019 00:05

Jamie from Made In Chelsea asked me out on a date about 6/7 years ago if that counts...

slkk · 23/06/2019 00:09

I went out with someone in sixth form who is now very well known. It’s funny because he was quiet and quirky and not that theatrical! Couldn’t believe it when I went to the theatre and he was playing the lead. Now quite often on tv and in films.

GidgetGirl · 23/06/2019 00:17

@muycansada I can imagine that’s hard.. My DP’s kids hated it when they were little apparently, but now they’re in their teens & 20s they don’t mind at all. They still show no interest whatsoever in DP’s work, but they enjoy getting free tickets to various events!

EllenRachel · 23/06/2019 00:19

My husband is a well known climber. So in general life he's hardly ever recognised but when we go to the wall or climbing outside he's chatted to and photographed a bitt. It's nice though as climbers love to talk about climbing! I'm glad it's not 24/7 though.

I'm proud of him and that he's admired. It's mainly men that chat so don't get jealous!

chaoscategorised · 23/06/2019 00:45

Ooh Ellen - how famous a climber are we talking? This is the one I'm most interested in 😂

My sister dated a Premier League footballer for a bit and it was a bit weird being sent a link to her on the Daily Mail as a 'mystery blonde'. She said they often left through the back of restaurants and would get people following their car all the time. He was a complete arsehole though.
