Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

You lot have spent an awful lot of time defending violence against women today. ant you throw in a 'she asked for it' for old times sake?

Not just the country I worry for, what state will he leav edowning street in? thats if he doesnt sell it off to a family friend for a few quid.

Totur · 21/06/2019 22:44

I guarantee you they are holding onto that recording for when he tries to deny it.

They'll sell it soon to Sky or something who will broadcast it.

Against what? The plates, china, whatever? Give me a break grin

It's an intimidating display of aggression, and also has the potential to be used as a method of control, if the person is smashing their partner's valued possessions.

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 21/06/2019 22:45

dingdong feel free to go and look up the definition of dv from any charity.

Don't expect others to do all your legwork for you.

Butterymuffin · 21/06/2019 22:45

So it would be a put up job by the man himself to get him out of being PM, is that it? I wish that were true but I simply don't buy it. He desperately wants to be PM. He thinks he can swerve his way round all the obvious pitfalls.

Totur · 21/06/2019 22:46

TFBundy - keep your Tory husband.

You are assuming he was lobbing plates, my money is on her chucking stuff around.

Patroclus · 21/06/2019 22:47

I hope your husband doesnt now hes you token, Bundy.

Cinammoncake · 21/06/2019 22:47

How can smashing something that causes no harm whatsoever to your partner be DV?

In a number of ways. For instance if it was thrown at someone or in such a way as meant to scare them.

Coupled with the screaming it would suggest violence, in the domestic arena. But clearly not to you. We will have to agree to disagree dingdong

You want to know what has happened to me?

I objected to my dp not washing his hands between handling raw bacon and the plates he was serving it on. I got a flying saucer plate thrown at my head which hit the wall.
Another time, I was trying to call 999, my phone was grabbed off me and stamped on.
5 minutes later, while again trying to seek help via laptop, it was thrown down the stairs and fell apart.

Believe me - throwing shit - can very much be part of DV.

We don’t know if there were plates crashing. That was the neighbour’s interpretation.

There are other possibilities e.g. wine glasses being knocked over and hitting the floor - apparently he had got red wine over the sofa?

I really detest Boris and don’t trust him but based on the Guardian article it is really difficult to know exactly what happened.

Walkaround · 21/06/2019 22:51

She probably found pornography on his laptop, or messages to yet another lover...

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 21/06/2019 22:52

Oh please, a wine glass hitting the floor, and plates smashing sound nothing alike.

Totur · 21/06/2019 22:53

You really think a newspaper is going to risk a defamatory claim that would put them out of business?

Some twat on the news just said it shows Boris is HUMAN

Totur · 21/06/2019 22:54

Particularly the Guardian?? They're not known for their risk taking...

I think this is unfair that people are assuming she was attacked by B.J.

We don't know that that happened unless she comes forward and says it happened.

It could have been her smashing stuff.

It could have been him, we don't know.

There's a lot of jumping to conclusions in this thread.

No Tory party members here then? Grin Grin

It’s not just The Guardian, it’s on the front pages of the Mail, Express, Telegraph and Times.

Jemima232 · 21/06/2019 22:56

People are going to find excuses for him.

They are finding excuses for him on this site, which appals me.

nettie434 · 21/06/2019 22:56

As ever, Hadley Freeman has put this so well:

The day began with a video of Mark Field slamming Janet Barker against a wall. It ends with a recording of Carrie Symonds shouting “getting off me to Boris Johnson and E Jean Carroll accusing Trump of rape. Helluva day for violence against women, guys.

Walkaround · 21/06/2019 22:57

Tbh, whilst I find him a repellent human being, I've never thought of him as physically violent. More spineless and conniving.
