Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

Milkshakes? What on earth?

Can we stick to the topic.

You know, the shouting, the screaming, her being heard to say she wanted him out?

Yet he remained

DioneTheDiabolist · 23/06/2019 17:47

Timing coincidence?

Are you saying that BoJo did this on purpose stucknoue?

dtpitman1 · 23/06/2019 17:48

What someone does in private is who they really are. If someone is really an untrustworthy person, then its best to know that before you trust them with something important. If a politician cannot be trusted by their spouse, then why should the public trust them? A leader is not like a technician – perhaps a technician can do a good technical job while being a bad person. But a politician is a leader – being a ‘good person’ is required for being a leader. Not that a politician cannot have privacy! But if they are a ‘bad person’ the public needs to know. -Quote fr. Kevin Watters, Shoreview, MN

Members of the public doing stupid things - none of them applauded by anyone on here

Ah, are we playing bring things from other threads in here?

Ok, yes, on many threads, the stupid behaviour of members of the public and politicians is applauded.

But you've decided that lots of mn support stickering BJ's door without any real reason, right? Not one person has supported that, not one person has even suggested or implied they'd support that.

Shame on you.

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 17:48

Yet he remained

He might have been gathering his things to go as the police turned up. She might have calmed down and asked him not to leave after all. We don’t know the timing.

FannyWork · 23/06/2019 17:49

Yet Boris yells and shouts enough to be heard word for word at her, aggressive words, and she's at fault.

The pic I attached on the above post of the Guardian article doesn’t appear to have uploaded. But the only unbiased (as far as we know) account of what happened is in the original argument by a nursery teacher neighbour and she says Boris was calm and not yelling:

Another neighbour, a nursery teacher who lives with her husband and four-year-old son in the top flat next door, told the Times that she could hear “shouting and screaming”.

, 32, said: “It was really loud, loud enough to make me turn down the TV and see what was going on. I could hear shouting and screaming from a lady, she sounded really angry. There was a man’s voice too, but he was much calmer and he was telling her to calm down but she was still chucking things about,” she told the Times.

HJWT · 23/06/2019 17:49

@Totur yes, I am ok with it. Me & DH have had arguments like this in the past, he has never laid his hands on me or me him.

Until someone comes forward stating DV then people need to pipe down....

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 17:49

But you've decided that lots of mn support stickering BJ's door without any real reason, right? Not one person has supported that, not one person has even suggested or implied they'd support that.

And you stated that all Brexit supporters condone domestic violence. Shame on YOU.

Doyley47 · 23/06/2019 17:50

Anyone who treats people he's supposed to care about like shit (previous wives, children , girlfriends etc) is not going to care much about the great British public is he?

FannyWork · 23/06/2019 17:50

That’s strange. It’s also removed the name, the nursery teacher is called Fatimah.

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 17:51

I can see it Fanny. But whether others can or can’t, I doubt it will make one iota of difference in this echo chamber of a thread...

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2019 17:55

The only unbiased account? - What on earth do you mean?

Are you talking about the nursery worker who was "frightened by the commotion"?

"Next-door neighbour, 32-year-old nursery worker Fatimah, was among those who heard the loud dispute.
She said: 'There was a lot of shouting, a lady was screaming and I could hear glasses or plates being thrown quite a few times.
'The man was shouting back. I could hear it through my walls. I was watching TV and muted it because I was so worried. It lasted for about ten minutes. I have never heard anything like that before."

Is hers the unbiased account?

BertrandRussell · 23/06/2019 17:57

“But the only unbiased (as far as we know) account of what happened ”

Why is her account unbiased? I’m not saying it isn’t- but how do you know it is?

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 17:59

Why is it okay for Carries ex to go to the press but not the neighbours

Hypocrisy much!

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2019 17:59

And you stated that all Brexit supporters condone domestic violence.

You are lying again. Go back and read what I actually said.

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 18:02

many of them don't mind economic collapse and break up of the union - as long as we brexit- are we supposed to pretend that those same people would be awfully upset if their leader had a record of domestic violence? they would not give a shit.

This is what you said. I apologise, you said “many”, not “all” - but it’s still an awful assertion to make.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2019 18:04

many of them don't mind economic collapse and break up of the union - as long as we brexit- are we supposed to pretend that those same people would be awfully upset if their leader had a record of domestic violence? they would not give a shit

whats awful about it?

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 18:08

Don’t you see that it’s offensive to tar so many people with the same brush and suggest that because of their political views, they are prepared to condone something as awful as DV?

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2019 18:15

well, we're going to have to agree to disagree- i stand by what i said.

Dongdingdong · 23/06/2019 18:18

well, we're going to have to agree to disagree- i stand by what i said.

Funnily enough I was just about to type that there’s no way we will ever see eye to eye on this, so let’s just agree to disagree.

I’ve spent way too long on this thread so am off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday offline. Have a good one!

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2019 18:19

you too Brew

Katherine2626 · 23/06/2019 18:20

Self declared left wing neighbour who says she has 'given him the finger' in the street records domestic and then finds it necessary to sell it to the Guardian. I haven't heard the recording so I don't know what happened, and frankly - who cares? Nobody was hurt, but here is a golden opportunity to make something out of nothing. I am not a Tory - just fed up with rubbish news when there is so much more to be concerned about.

dderrick · 23/06/2019 18:22

Everyone argues, he's entitled to some privacy. No arrests, nothing to see here-move along.

Sara107 · 23/06/2019 18:36

This is all of a piece with Mark Field attacking the female Greenpeace protestor at the Mansion Hse do - the look of rage on his face was what shocked me. These are entitled, spoiled right wing misogynists and they are infuriated by the very notion of women challenging their right to do what they want. And the awful thing is that many people are quick to defend them. My dh was horrified in the pub with a group of well educated, well to do locals on Friday when he found himself in a minority of 1 in criticising Field. What sort of people are they, he wondered, they all seem so nice. Clearly the sort of people who vote Tory, come what may (Ms Dorries is our MP). I think B J’s supporters will swing behind him - they are already discrediting the neighbours, it was all a Remain plot, etc. I think the subtext is ‘well, she was making a hysterical fuss about her stupid sofa, she got what she deserved’. Disgusting behaviour from a disgusting man, a member of a disgusting party.
