Are we ok with our soon to be PM being involved in a domestic 'argument'?

Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

What is it then?

A domestic - with the woman as the aggressor? Yet the Guardian took the risk of publishing a story implicating Boris as the aggressor... A risk that could cost them millions if it's wrong?

So we believe that it was the woman as the aggressor?
Lol.

@BertrandRussell

I'm a radical feminist survivor of domestic violence who is not a Tory.

No right wing misogyny here thanks. Just someone who thinks that some people on here are being a bit ridiculous for claiming to know exactly what happened in Boris's flat and who was doing what to whom.

And then people like @Patroclus who calls anyone who doesn't agree 'right wing slime'. Pretty slimy if you ask me.

I suspect some posters on here are too riled up not to be drunk.

Idontwanttotalk · 22/06/2019 00:09

"How about I use ABUSIVE BASTARD and BORIS in the same sentence?"
Why Infer that he is abusive? Why don't you have the courage of your convictions and properly accuse him so that he can sue you for defamation of character if he can prove it isn't true.

HelenaDove · 22/06/2019 00:10

Print media is in decline Newspaper sales are down.

There is no way they are going to take any stupid risks by publishing something that is a fabrication

LisaMontgomery · 22/06/2019 00:12

My pet hate is people who attempt to apply the "beyond reasonable doubt" standard of evidence when outside of the criminal court. I don't believe anybody actually uses that standard when making daily decisions, even civil courts don't have that burden of proof. It is just a way to deflect - they can't defend the (likely) actions so pretend it didn't happen.

Hear hoof beats - think horses not zebras. Hear a blazing row, smashing things, a woman screaming for a man to get out and him saying no, them not answering the door when you knock to check if they're okay - its domestic violence, not a Greek wedding.

And I'm another one who has never had a row so loud that the neighbours called the police.

@carla1983 , same here. Completely.

You think Boris is going to allow an allegation of DV be published against him a few days prior to his vote..... If he can refute it?

My pet hate is people who attempt to apply the "beyond reasonable doubt" standard of evidence when outside of the criminal court.

So what do you suggest? He/she might be guilty, but we’re not really sure, so let’s condemn them to a life sentence in prison anyway. Honestly this thread is ridiculous Hmm

Totur · 22/06/2019 00:20

They wouldn't have published it if he could have refuted it.

The fact Johnson’s people have said absolutely zilch, speaks volumes.

They know there’s a tape so can’t minimise anything. They’ll probably be trying to persuade Carrie to forgive him and will be setting up a photo shoot right at this moment.

I really hope people who for some reason seem to live BJ, finally see through this vile man. He’s not a bumbling idiot. He’s a dangerous, uncontrollable liar.

RubberTreePlant · 22/06/2019 00:20

Ducks? Nice.

Dongdingdong · 22/06/2019 00:21

Where has an allegation of DV been published against him other than on this thread? It certainly hasn’t been by the Guardian.

Breathlessness · 22/06/2019 00:21

Three words to sink Boris?

‘Get off me’

LizzieSiddal · 22/06/2019 00:21

*love

Dongdingdong · 22/06/2019 00:23

They wouldn't have published it if he could have refuted it.

For the 50th time - no one is refuting the contents of the tape, which is what the Guardian story is based on.

HelenaDove · 22/06/2019 00:23

Yeah TF Like Jeffrey Archer did.............oh hang on....

Not going to apologise for other people's lack of reading comprehension. Read what I actually said. Bertrand was right.

LizzieSiddal · 22/06/2019 00:23

“Get off me” and
“Get out of my flat” BJ’s reply “no”

What a fucking gent.

Notanidiot · 22/06/2019 00:24

Not read all the posts, so sorry if it's already been said.

Can those of you who have ever had a loud shouting match with your partner and are complaining about Boris and his partner doing the same, get off your high horse!

You can say he is unfit to govern based on other things, but based on a heated argument is just plain ridiculous.

There are plenty of supposedly upstanding politicians with skeletons in their closets and the same have poor characters. They just hide it all better.

Also let us not forget the expenses scandal. Politicians from all parties were plain greedy. Even my own constituency Labour MP put down that his mother's house was his home and not the home that he was raising his family in all so that he could get us taxpayers to pay for things for his actual home.

Also what about Labour MPs who move heaven and earth to get their children into the top performing state grammar schools which is nowhere near where they live. Then tell the rest of us that grammars are evil.

And lets not forget how they imposed a 0-1% pay rise on public sector workers but then have no qualms in accepting a much higher inflation busting increase for themselves.

Most MPs are hypocrites and double dealers, not just Boris Johnson.

RubberTreePlant · 22/06/2019 00:26

A BJ premiership will be a self-destructing shit show anyway.

I'm really bemused by the notion we all have to agree NOW that there was DV in his flat in order to prove our distaste for him.

Or else be called names.

Totur · 22/06/2019 00:26

People are victims of crime every day without making complaints and statements about it. That his girlfriend didn't make a statement doesn't mean nothing happened. In fact, it's highly likely that this is not the first time.
