Are we ok with our soon to be PM being involved in a domestic 'argument'?

Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

Frankly, if this is down to being drunk, I'm not too keen on the prospect of a PM who drinks so much that he gets as out of control as this.

Alsohuman · 21/06/2019 23:34

I’d find it equally abhorrent if he was Labour, Libdem, SNP, Plaid Cymru, Green or Monster Raving Loony Party. A man who aspires to lead the country has the police called because his neighbours were worried about his partner’s safety - and one of his acolytes compared him to Churchill yesterday. I despair.

Cinammoncake · 21/06/2019 23:36

It's not hysteria
People are seriously and rightly concerned if this is what/who the country needs right now, given the state we're in already.

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:37

A man who aspires to lead the country has the police called because his neighbours were worried about his partner’s safety

Can I repeat that again?

A man who aspires to lead the country has the police called because his neighbours were worried about his partner’s safety

And again?

A man who aspires to lead the country has the police called because his neighbours were worried about his partner’s safety

@Leatherflamingle

Imagine living with your children’s little treasures dotted around. Photographs , drawings, little clay pots they made in nursery. All are up to be smashed when your partner sees fit.

This broke my heart a little. If this happened to you I am so very sorry. Flowers

Charmlight · 21/06/2019 23:39

This will all be shut down soon, like the Marcus Ball / political misconduct thing. It was all over the media one evening, then total radio silence until it was thrown out.......

carla1983 · 21/06/2019 23:40

Until there is clarity around what happened, we don't know if she was screaming in anger or fear, or was actually in danger. I totally agree, it is not ideal to not know, given that he is probably going to be PM.

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:41

Won't be shut down if I have anything to do with it.

Unless you SCREAM ordinarily, it's usually in fear........

Perhaps he showed her a photo of the Michelangelo....... Anything could be plausible on MN....

How anyone has managed to get any idea what was happening in the house from that article is beyond me. She could easily have been doing all the smashing and banging while he is trying to stop her throwing his laptop. Don't be so quick to judge.

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:46

I spent 7 years getting away from an abusive relationship. I sure as hell am not going to allow some cunt walk in as Prime Minister.

carla1983 · 21/06/2019 23:46

@Totur - my mother used to scream in anger on a regular basis.

carla1983 · 21/06/2019 23:47

We don't know which it was.

Idontwanttotalk · 21/06/2019 23:47

"What is interesting is that the police denied anything happened at all, until the Guardian gave them the details (incident number, vehicle regs at the address etc) at which point they clarified that they had attended, and confirmed that both the adults present were 'safe'.

Why are the police denying there was an incident, when there clearly was?"
Why indeed? This is a worrying aspect. Could it just be that in the case of nothing untoward having taken place that they do provide confidentiality to politicians and the like? (I'm not saying that is acceptable).

How did the Guardian have the details such as the incident number, vehicle regs present at the address etc? That seems rather strange to me. Did the neighbours tell The Guardian? If so, surely their motivation has to be called into question?

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:48

Blondieg - I dare you to have the recording released........?

I’m not a Tory supporter, and certainly not a boris supporter, but can we be sure this complaint was made in good faith and was made to be vindictive?

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:49

Maybe the neighbours were sick of hearing the same shit every night, finally reported it, finally took all details and finally went to the media.

@PerfectlyNormalThankYou I must admit I had a similar train of thought about political opponents next door with drinking glasses pressed to the walls.

And whats with lawyers on here always announcing that they are lawyers?

Totur · 21/06/2019 23:52

One report says 0015 another says 0024. Police have no record of either Wink
Except they sent a crew to the address.

I think some of us are just deeply cynical about political shenanigans on every side @Patroclus

It doesn't make us all 'right wing'. Nor 'slime'.

Patroclus · 21/06/2019 23:54

Maybe he was trying to send millions of pounds in aid to africa and he was screaming at him
