Knotting...?! Knitting

BitOfFun · 22/06/2019 03:22

Reading (I run a large group for book-lovers on FB), and sewing quilts.

BitOfFun · 22/06/2019 03:34

Oh, and I've got an allotment. I guess that's a hobby.

Enidthecat · 22/06/2019 06:30

Reading, running (haven't for 9 months due to pregnancy though and currently waiting for OK to run after c section), gardening. My passion is horses but I had to loan then sell my pony when I was pregnant with my son 5 years ago. Dying to get back into it once this one is old enough to be left.

Enidthecat · 22/06/2019 06:30

So basically at the moment not much :(

Gig and festivals too when not tied to baby

unicorncupcake · 22/06/2019 06:40

Musical theatre, watching it and helping to produce/direct large scale am dram productions. (At proper theatres that seat up to 600 people) going through the stage door never gets boring Grin. That’s the main thing I do outside work, it’s project based and very social with the cast/crew for each individual production, great fun!

I also enjoy Baking cakes that look crap but taste nice. 🧁

pinkmagic1 · 22/06/2019 06:53

Horses. Nothing better to lift the spirit than riding through the fields on a summers day with the skylarks singing overhead.

SegregateMumBev · 22/06/2019 06:56

parkrun (my name is a clue!), and running training. And Scottish country dancing (teaching and dancing).

TescoValueUserName · 22/06/2019 07:33

Crochet, barbershop singing, doing a part time degree and hoping to get back out running / gym soon

ShinyButtons · 25/06/2019 00:44

@ferretygubbins I love your garden forge.

There doesn't seem to be any courses near me so it looks like I'll be forced to go for a weekend away somewhere to do a course Grin or I might see if my farrier will let me invade his workshop and give me a crash course, although I would like to learn to do something more decorative than a horses shoe, he might have some old tools lying around I could rehome!

Blonde87 · 25/06/2019 09:52

Pole dancing

Happyspud · 25/06/2019 09:56

Football and basketball, a bit of yoga. I have a beautiful vegetable garden and some sheep and chickens I adore minding. I LOVE to cook but it’s on hold these years while the babies are little, it’s just not fun when I’m disturbed every 2 mins of the process and then nobody eats it anyway😅. I’ve boufht a sewing machine and hope to quilt in the near future. I’m quite a little old lady!

whothedaddy · 25/06/2019 10:06

I'm part of a triathlon group (so running, swimming and road cycling)
I love my Friday night yoga classes.
I have a book club I attend.
We try to go out hiking as a family as much as possible.
And travel...I set myself a target on my 30th birthday to have visited every European country by the time I turn 40. I could only include places I'd been as an adult...so none of the places I got to go with my parents/grandparents as a child. I'm going to hit 5 new countries this year.

Girasole02 · 25/06/2019 10:13

Same as my DH, actually, Roman re-enactment. He does military (yes, gentle reader, that means he is expected to polish his own helmet.... ho ho ho) and I do civilian, which is mostly textile-related stuff.

Also cat-wrangling and writing historical fiction completely unrelated to the period we re-enact :-D

Jinglejanglefish · 25/06/2019 10:40

Yoga and running, plus as much sleep as I can squeeze in

weegiemum · 25/06/2019 10:46

Knitting, painting glass and silk, making cards, cooking. I'm teaching myself to sew and like a bit of light pootering in the garden.

Mia184 · 25/06/2019 10:47

Cycling
Running
Hiking

thecatneuterer · 25/06/2019 10:51

Salsa dancing and recently started tango.

I also go the the gym, but don't class that as a hobby, it's just something I should do for my health. And I do many, many hours of voluntary work a week, but that also isn't a hobby. I suppose a vocation would be the nearest I can get to describing it.

MangoBiscuit · 25/06/2019 10:55

Powerlifting. I like picking up very heavy things and putting them back down! Grin

Choir, sewing/knitting, film, gardening. Cycle to commute and love it. Also read for work but that would be a hobby.

Every time one of these threads comes up I'm reminded that I want to try reenactmenting...
