Crochet and writing fiction.

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 21/06/2019 00:01

Paper crafting, especially making cards. Also cooking and spending time with my sweet little granddog, who loves to cuddle and play silly dog games. He hates it when I work at my desk, either real work or crafts, as he can't sit on my lap comfortably.

@ferretygubbins I would love to learn how to do blacksmithing and woodturning. Where do you go to learn blacksmithing?
Sadly at the moment I live in a flat but when I finally get a house, hopefully with a garage I really want to start woodturning and other woodworking projects, I have a dream of building all my own furniture.

At the moment my hobbies are my lovely ancient pony, he's got so high maintenance in his old age he is now also DPs hobby too Blush
Other than that I like sewing and pyrography, neither of which I'm that good at but DP always seems impressed with my somewhat interesting creations he's favourite was the pair of underpants I made him out of a 1960s style pillowcase Grin

Crochet, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, running, reading lots, painting, drawing, going to as many gigs as I can (metal, mostly). I'm about to start yoga (I'm going to a class this weekend) as it has been recommended to help with my dodgy back.

BadLad · 21/06/2019 00:14

Where do you go to learn blacksmithing?

This intrigued me, but a google of blacksmith courses uk threw up quite a few possibilities. I was surprised.

darkriver19886 · 21/06/2019 00:14

Reading, writing and gaming. Also messing up my life that feels like a hobby. Grin

@CrowleysBentley
Hi I’m sure we must be friends in real life!

Cross stitch, embroidery, crochet, knitting, latch hook rugs, reading, art and craft, pets, heavy metal/ alternative rock, gaming

ArtificialArctophile · 21/06/2019 07:29

Swearing mostly 😬

BlueSkiesLies · 21/06/2019 07:29

It’s lovely to see all these different hobbies

Ounce · 21/06/2019 07:36

Ah, this is a smashing thread.

outdoors: Swimming, running, hiking, foraging, gardening.
Indoors: wine making, weaving, playing ragtime piano.

BlueSkiesLies · 21/06/2019 07:36

Probably my major hobby is going on holiday. Yes, I am in fact that stereotypical child free person that goes away for 7/8 weeks a year.

Hiking
Running
Cycling
Climbing
Skiing but mainly ski touring - going to save for heliski for my 40th
Camping

Watching TV
Reading
Hanging with the cat

Going out for nice dinners and drinks with friends. Hosting and attending dinner parties with friends.

Ceramics

Maybe 2-4 times a year going proper clubbing. If you keep going to the same DJs as you did 10 years ago you never feel old as their clientele ages with you 😂

I used to like gaming but struggle to get into games now, not sure why. Think they got too complex for me! Usually I’m trying to persuade DP to play a game so I can read.

freshasthebrightbluesky · 21/06/2019 08:40

Photography. Won a camera club competition the other day as well. I haven't really done much recently though. Might take my camera when I go to town on Saturday.

OhDearDottie · 21/06/2019 08:41

I used to do loads of things like open water swimming, pool swimming, cycling, kayaking and hiking. And then I used to do reading, knitting, crochet and cross stitch.

But now I have a baby who thinks sleep is for other people I only really just manage to read and am starting cycling again next week. Hoping to build some of the others up again as my baby learns to sleep....
