To eat nothing but crisps for a week? Would I die?

I bloody love crisps. I hate chocolate. Crisps are my Achilles heel.

Anyway, when I've over indulged in a particular food, I can't face them for a long time afterwards.
I didn't eat mince pies for 3 years once.
I still haven't looked a jelly baby in the eye since I was breast feeding ds2 and ate packets and packets of them.

I'm constantly sitting on my hands trying not to eat crisps.
For years I've been wondering whether I should just eat crisps and nothing else for a week and get over my blood obsession.

I can't eat 'as many as I want' as part of my normal diet because I would be eating way too many calories and I've got down to a good weight after having DS3.

Would I die from all the salt?

It's only a week so I think I wouldn't die from anything else.

I know it sounds ridiculous but it might just work...?

OP, I have crisp issues too.

Teacakeandalatte · 20/06/2019 14:49

Obviously its not sensible but it is funny so I say go for it. If you do die please let us know.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 20/06/2019 14:49

I still haven't looked a jelly baby in the eye Grin

Halloumimuffin · 20/06/2019 14:49

What crisps would you eat though? Surely there are so many different shapes and flavours you wouldn't be able to get sick of them all?

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 20/06/2019 14:50

'Die from crisps'

Yes I will ask DH to update the thread.

I've thought of a problem.
I love wine (I've tried living on that for a week, definitely nearly died, definitely didn't put me off) would this then mean having to give up the wine during Crisp Week?

As long as I drank a fuck load of water before and after the wine I think that would
be ok?

OP posts:
Teacakeandalatte · 20/06/2019 14:51

Wine is a liquid so it doesnt count.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 20/06/2019 14:52

I would stick to regular flavoured crisps because I'm not fussed by all those fancy kettle chips and stuff.
They are nice but I don't want to go out and buy them and eat them and roll around in them like I do with 'regular' crisps.

Right, I'm buying a fuck load of crisps on Sunday and starting Crisp Diet on Monday.

teyem · 20/06/2019 14:52

I think you have to give up the wine or it might invalidate the results. It's crisps and water, don't back out now.

thenightsky · 20/06/2019 14:53

I'm now considering this for my mini cheddar obsession.

teyem · 20/06/2019 14:53

Do a pre and post weight, you might get a book out of this yet Grin

Queenoftheashes · 20/06/2019 14:54

Looking forward to the results. I can’t see it taking a week. Surely two or three days will do it. Although I too know the draw of a walkers 24 pack.
If you had squares you could have four packs for each meal and only be on 1200 cal days. So that's slimming. I might try it too...

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 20/06/2019 14:55

That's a good question - will I gain or lose weight?

I will definitely be going over my calorie limit and my WW points that's for sure.
But it's worth it just to get over the crisp obsession.

Oh I do love a square.

I also have a crisp addiction Blush
I think I’d keep eating them after the week.

RocketPockets · 20/06/2019 14:59

Crisps are my weak point too. I just cannot get enough of them. I've been doing low carb boot camp so haven't been having crisps for a while now and while my self control had surprised me I could still murder a few family packs in one sitting Blush

tearinmybeer · 20/06/2019 15:00

This thread doesn't make me want crisps but it has made me extremely thirsty.

I also keep thinking about how well you would float after a week of crisps if you stay hydrated.

Do report back if you go for it.

WhoWants2Know · 20/06/2019 15:00

Watching this developing experiment with interest.

Would water retention become an issue with so much salt and no fibre to push things out?

Peterpiperpickedwrong · 20/06/2019 15:00

I imagine if all you could eat was 16 packets of crisps a day you would be very hungry.

I’ve just had McCoy’s ridge cut cheese and onion 25g pack from a multipack (only crisps left) and 16 of those equates to 2,128 cals. So you would be eating a lot of calories but would still be hungry.

So I could eat 16 of those before I reached my salt limit intake.
So perhaps I wouldn't die.

If the guy from supersize me could eat McDonalds for a month without keeling over I’m sure you will be fine if it’s just a week. When you have bought all your crisps please post a photo of your potato pile Grin

SilkySula · 20/06/2019 15:01

Me too with Bacon Tuc

RocketPockets · 20/06/2019 15:01

Posted too early!
Really interested to see how this works out for you!

Ounce · 20/06/2019 15:04

I've often wondered where my 'cake limit' would be. I reckon I could do a week, easy.

You have to do this thing OP. We're all invested.

RedSkyLastNight · 20/06/2019 15:04

Not what you plan to do.
But as a student I went through a phase of eating a multipack 6 pack every day.

Still addicted to crisps.

zonkin · 20/06/2019 15:05

Please keep us updated!

I can't have multipacks of crisps in the house as I give each DC one packet and they I scoff the rest of the packets in pretty much one sitting. So I'm curious to see how it goes.
