To eat nothing but crisps for a week? Would I die?

I bloody love crisps. I hate chocolate. Crisps are my Achilles heel.

Anyway, when I've over indulged in a particular food, I can't face them for a long time afterwards.
I didn't eat mince pies for 3 years once.
I still haven't looked a jelly baby in the eye since I was breast feeding ds2 and ate packets and packets of them.

I'm constantly sitting on my hands trying not to eat crisps.
For years I've been wondering whether I should just eat crisps and nothing else for a week and get over my blood obsession.

I can't eat 'as many as I want' as part of my normal diet because I would be eating way too many calories and I've got down to a good weight after having DS3.

Would I die from all the salt?

It's only a week so I think I wouldn't die from anything else.

I know it sounds ridiculous but it might just work...?

I think you’ll be ok tbh. Maybe pop a vitamin now and then. My fear of doing this would be...what if it’s as great as I imagine? What if I started eating all the crisps I wanted and couldn’t stop? What if I had to live like that forever? If you love it will you be able to go back?!

MustardScreams · 20/06/2019 16:23

Aldi wotsits are my crack. I honestly think I’d still want them even after a week of nothing else.

Good luck op, looking forward to the results!

Chocolate and chocolate containing products e.g. chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate milkshake.

That's why it didn't work.
If I did a week on crisps as well as potatoes, mash, hash browns, it wouldn't put me off crisps.

If ate just bars of chocolate it might have worked.

Crisps and chips are (were) my favourite savoury food to the point of addiction. As I was craving carbs and was overweight I went cold turkey on them (and several other starchy things) on Jan 1. I now feel like I have broken the addiction and am not bothered. My DD has crisps and they do smell nice but I’m just like oh well I know where that path leads....
So I would imagine it would make you fat and bloated, possibly farting a lot too 😂
For me the permissive approach led to me being two stone overweight so it did not work.

Mummyoflittledragon · 20/06/2019 16:26

This thread is hilarious. Thanks for the laugh op. You need to make a YouTube vid. Grin

iloveeverykindofcat1 · 20/06/2019 16:28

If you try it, report back and tell what happens.

At uni when I had run out of money I ate a multipack of 12 packets of quavers in a day. Or rather I got to 10 packets and my tongue started to bleed so I couldn’t face the last 2!

MrsGaryLightbody · 20/06/2019 16:32

sounds like an eating disorder. You know as well as i do that you'd be sick. Rather than bingeing and avoidance contact an eating disorder charity for some professional support.

Seriously? It's a light hearted thread Hmm

MrsGaryLightbody · 20/06/2019 16:32

@RuffleCrow that was aimed at you btw

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 20/06/2019 16:33

I know I chuckled at that as well MrsGary Grin

I don't think you'd need to eat all week...

I ate an entire pringles BBQ flavour tube and I still can eat those 20 years later.

Its all about the aversion therapy...I ate my tube in a hospital....

So find something really horrendous that you hate and do crisps in conjunction with that.

M3lon · 20/06/2019 16:35

still CANT eat them

Feelingwalkedover · 20/06/2019 16:35

Sounds amazing
My problem would be not being able to stop after a week

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 20/06/2019 16:36

I'm sorry for your loss. ☹️

I nearly lost mince pies that way.

I want some salt and vinegar Squares now. They are the best of all crisps. Grin

I'd say go for it, but only with daily updates here. Just to check you're ok, of course Wink

sergeilavrov · 20/06/2019 16:42

Well, we could work it out - details of your ideal week of crisp eating please! I'm happy to do the maths if I can live vicariously through your meal plan Grin

I used to only eat nature valley cereal bars, one a day, with litres of diet coke. I did that for ages until I got sick of them. Still alive!

BelladonnaKebab · 20/06/2019 16:43

Please do this and update with a diary!

Cordyline1 · 20/06/2019 16:44

I remember reading on the internet about a man who ate nothing but sweets for a week. He lost weight

confusedandemployed · 20/06/2019 16:45

Mmmmm can I join in? I'm exactly the same about food 'yens' and I'm currently experiencing a spearmint chew one.

Trouble with crisps is, I'm not sure a crisp-only diet would cure me.

Orlandointhewilderness · 20/06/2019 16:49

Oh god I love crisps. I have to be so so careful with them - they are sneaky lil buggers who promise they will just sit in the cupboard and not tempt me. they lie I tell you! I can comfortably eat a family pack/tube of pringles/8 bags in one sitting. Salt and vinegar pose a problem to the tongue but prawn cocktail pringles go down very easily.

Yes I'm fat!

annabelle1992 · 20/06/2019 16:50

Yeah true. Maybe the way to go is separate the vices then do one intense week on each one, then at the end of it I would hopefully be sick of the lot. Problem is so many vices it could take months... hmm...

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 20/06/2019 16:53

There's a You Tuber who does a "Week On" a certain diet/meal plan/whimsical items. Why not suggest he does a week on crisps, see how he gets on, then have a go. He does a weigh in start and end too so you can get an idea on gain.

TheCatThatDanced · 20/06/2019 16:54

Fatcatfat - hmmm wonder how I can go cold turkey?

Always liked them and they're my downfall. At one stage I was addicted to a tube of pringles a week! And a family size Twiglets or similar.

Even now I tend to have salty things.

Hahaha88 · 20/06/2019 16:55

Oh thanks a lot! Second day of slimming world and now all I want to do is stiff crisps down my throat!! 🤦😆

mindproject · 20/06/2019 16:55

Liking crisps is not an eating disorder. In fact, I've never met a person that doesn't like them.
