To eat nothing but crisps for a week? Would I die?

I bloody love crisps. I hate chocolate. Crisps are my Achilles heel.

Anyway, when I've over indulged in a particular food, I can't face them for a long time afterwards.
I didn't eat mince pies for 3 years once.
I still haven't looked a jelly baby in the eye since I was breast feeding ds2 and ate packets and packets of them.

I'm constantly sitting on my hands trying not to eat crisps.
For years I've been wondering whether I should just eat crisps and nothing else for a week and get over my blood obsession.

I can't eat 'as many as I want' as part of my normal diet because I would be eating way too many calories and I've got down to a good weight after having DS3.

Would I die from all the salt?

It's only a week so I think I wouldn't die from anything else.

I know it sounds ridiculous but it might just work...?

I'm fascinated by this idea. I once ate mostly cheese sandwiches for a week (with the odd Quavers sandwich thrown in) and it hasn't put me off at all. Sad

BlueCornishPixie · 24/06/2019 19:43

You are living the dream OP.

I ate crisps once for about 3 days when I was hungover/concussed and couldn't face any other food, I just ate a big bag of cheese balls and pringles. I didn't die but I didn't exactly feel better either.

I moved onto mealdeals After that, much more nutritious Grin

Crisp lover here. Some of these posts are incredibly sanctimonious.
Doubt anything at all, not even constipation, would happen to OP if she ate for a week.

Bananallama858 · 24/06/2019 19:51

Do it and document it - you could make a film like the guy who only ate McDonald's for 30 days. Fascinating.

Queenoftheashes · 24/06/2019 19:53

Six packs of squares? Def gonna lose weight.

3luckystars · 24/06/2019 19:54

Don't laugh now but I have cravings for things when I am short of something, get some multivitamins and a tonic and start taking that.

Dioralyte also if you can, it's the salt I'd say that is making you want them so much. Good luck.

StinkyWizleteets · 24/06/2019 19:55

I did it for a while. I was unwell to start. I only ate pringles and lost 2stone. Went off pringles for a good few years. Crisps are my downfall.

teyem · 24/06/2019 19:55

There was the subway guy in America who lost a tonne of weight only eating their sandwiches and then they sponsored him. You could be famous if you play this right, you'll need an agent...just remember who was there at the beginning when all this started

Oblomov19 · 24/06/2019 19:56

I always have fully stocked cupboards, rice, pasta, etc. And biscuits chocolate and crisps.
I a choice of crisps: always have cheese and onion, prawn cocktail, salt and pepper, scampi flavoured fries, bacon frazzles, fish and chips, hula hoops, pringles, . Always in the house.

Villanellesproudmum · 24/06/2019 20:02

My dream diet! You could vegetable crisps, pea crisps, dried fruit crisps for your five a day.

I’m joking.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 24/06/2019 20:12

Oh my god I would love to do this , not to put myself off crisps , just to eat them! Love them

I would have a mix of Jonny onion rings, kings, Doritos - blue pack, chickadees, scampi fries, bacon fries, skips, waffles, bbq hula hoops, cheese balls and maybe cheese puffs

Good luck op, you’re my new idol Blush

Grimbles · 24/06/2019 20:14

Ah man. I love crisps too. I cant eat them anymore as I cant just have 1 bag, unless it's a 200g family pack Blush

I really miss going into places like Home Bargains that would have the less mainstream brands and flavours like KP cheese and onion or frisps. Sad

nothingtowearever · 24/06/2019 20:29

This is an awesome experiment 😂

CistusRose · 24/06/2019 20:30

When are you starting op? Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 24/06/2019 20:57

Bitch, I started 😬

Sorry, i missed that you started today. How many packets now and how's the pain?

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 24/06/2019 21:07

Tyrell’s Thai sweet chilli crisps are my downfall. No other chilli crisp will do. I ate 2 large bags last night- I’m only just beginning to feel normal.

👏👏👏 good luck!

NurseButtercup · 24/06/2019 21:15

There are several mnetters who are quietly impressed with your plan & bravery to embark upon this self-imposed challenge.

Do you have a final crisp packet count for day 1?

Do you foresee becoming constipated? Is there a contingency plan to address this?

And crucially do you have support in real life to assist you if there is a crisp related emergency?

ladymalfoy · 24/06/2019 21:19

Worster sauce french fries. Salt and vinegar Discos ,salt and vinegar quavers ,pickled onion monster munch,

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 24/06/2019 21:24

I’ve come to bed. The crisps are calling me. But I’m on a fast day today to make up for yesterday & to prepare for Thai sweet chilli crisps tomorrow.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 24/06/2019 21:34

Final crisp packet count for day one is 7 packets.

6 squares and one normal packet of Tesco cheese and onion.

It was fun today.

Sounds like heaven - do it!

OldSiam · 24/06/2019 21:43

Remember the London riots? We did back to back shifts (police officer) and the team lived on chips during that time
My whole inside of my lips was one huge ulcer. I was convinced I had scurvy. My mate didn’t poo for a week.

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 24/06/2019 21:49

I'm in awe !!!

Ilnome · 24/06/2019 21:54

I must confess as a student I have been there, my friend. Shockingly a truck load of crisps won’t kill you through over doing the salt (unless I am coming to mumsnet through the medium of the Ouija board to tempt you to share my fate) must confess for me it was wotsits
