you will hate me

There's an increasing trend for unhelpful assumptions now, thst have led to unnecessary and rude comments.

Its a colloquialism OP, designed to lighten the mood.

Why do you want to know about barristers, and as you said specifically about Oxbridge?

Political party researcher?

I'm assuming you have no interest in this from a potentially professional viewpoint, as you would have simply found out about access routes into the profession yourself.

I would suggest that you compare the position with a couple of other European jurisdictions. Its very similar in many other countries, with elite universities and ultra-competitive entry.

As already mentioned i have been looking into stats and asked for recommended sources.

Thank you for your further explanation, but there are now posters not so interested in contributing, not sure what purpose their enquiry really. Anyway, no matter.

I have had loads of fascinating stuff that has been extremely helpful.

I originally intended to go to the Bar - top 1st at Oxford not law but a subject considered good grounding for law), very varied CV etc but was advised to think about going into a related field and qualifying there and making a name via writing articles and lecturing and then looking at the Bar at 30 with that behind me. All went to plan until I realised I was actually enjoying the work I was doing so stayed where I was instead.
