Why can't I say people's names???

This seems so weird. I've never said my mums name, never called her 'mum'.
My ex used to call me out that I never said his name in years.
Now current DP has made a comment about me never saying his.
It's something that I feel genuinely uncomfortable with - but it only seems to be people close to me, I'm fine in passing!!!

Is there something wrong with me? Confused

Same. I think for me it is cultural. It was very disturbing at first when Brits would keep repeating my name. It's quite unnecessary. If I'm looking at you, I'm talking to you. If my bf is the only person in the house, I'm talking to him

This is me too. I'm super uncomfortable saying people's names, gets to the point that when I do used their name I worry I've got it wrong (people I work with rather than family lol)

This is me too 🤔
