To think that inviting primary children to witness erect penises, gang rape references and spikes up mens arses isn't artistic, it's pedophilia?

This art exhibition is being pushed by Gendered Intelligence, a group that works in schools:

www.transgendertrend.com/gendered-intelligence-training-teachers-kiss-my-genders/

The event is not age restricted, in fact children are being actively encouraged to go.

I have been informed by a very 'woke' friend that this is art and I am homophobic, kink shaming, and transphobic (because apparently even linking to the above website on my FB is, no matter what it says) and that maybe I should go with my own primary aged dc to 'broaden my mind'.

My mind has been broadened. That friend obviously shouldn't be let anywhere near my dc again.

AIBU?

I do not see that there is an agenda to lure in tiny toddlers and turn them into transgender queer freaks - you think this isn't suitable for your teenager, don't take them!

Teenagers can go on their own.

And the ticket pricing for this exhibition is shown here (free for primary school children):

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/06/2019 18:26

Is this new?

Age guidance: Children below the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult as some parts of the exhibition contain images of an explicit nature. Information is provided within the exhibition where the images may be unsuitable for visitors under 13.

BrianniStew · 15/06/2019 18:31

I saw the age guidance too, was just RTFT to work out what I was missing.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/06/2019 18:33

Although it should say "where the images are suitable for under 13"

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/06/2019 18:34

Why are pp trying to act like this is only just maybe the very thinnest of margins beyond the limit of acceptability for children and it's just us fussing over a minor error of judgement.

Because it's the best hope of distracting attention from what's happening under our noses?

As truth said, it's good to see so many who see this for what it is. I've no doubt we'd all be called luddite bigots by the perpetrators of this filth, but coming from such individuals it might almost be seen as a compliment

ineedaknittedhat · 15/06/2019 18:38

Most people here are calling it out, but how many others won't? Their children can be exposed to this crap and a significant number will then be vulnerable to being groomed by these characters.

OldCrone · 15/06/2019 19:13

Is this new?

Possibly. I didn't notice it there last night.

OldCrone · 15/06/2019 19:18

Archive version from last month. The age guidance wasn't there.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/06/2019 19:19

The ages guidance was put up earlier today.

Outofinspiration · 15/06/2019 19:21

Yes, I thought that age guidance was new.

13?!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/06/2019 19:25

Technically it's not actually paedophilia at 13, so I guess that's why the age was chosen.

IfNot · 15/06/2019 19:27

Yes that's what I did.."13??!!"
No way my 13 yr old needs to see bdsm and fetish stuff.
Anyone notice one of the contributors to the exhibition is Travis Alabanza of Top Shop fame.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/06/2019 19:29

CaptainKirksSpookyghost
Why is it not paedophilia at 13? The age of consent is 16 and older for some children unable to give informed consent?

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/06/2019 19:32

Google is my friend - I can see that technically it refers to prepubescent children although the law relates to all children.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/06/2019 19:32

Why is it not paedophilia at 13?

Because paedophilia is attraction to prepubertal bodies, at 13 children are deemed to have started puberty.

It's often confused with underage attraction and used interchangeably, but in law it's two different things.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/06/2019 19:33

And that is why 13 is probably the age here.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/06/2019 19:34

It's a bit fucking late to be adding age warnings now, Hayward. The internet already has you.

Merename · 15/06/2019 19:44

Totally agree the exhibition sounds unsuitable for children. However the sneery, superior tone of the writer of that article is awful.

hardyloveit · 15/06/2019 19:51

This is one thread I actually want the daily fail to screen shot and paste!!!! Get the word out there more!

sackrifice · 15/06/2019 19:51

However the sneery, superior tone of the writer of that article is awful

Sneering at people promoting paedophilia, whatever next?

Outofinspiration · 15/06/2019 20:08

The state of that age guidance though.

    1. So 14 year olds could go in there on their own and see images of a bloke holding his naked erection. Super.
  1. will they be enforcing any sort of id checking? Do 14 year olds even have id that they would be able to show?

  2. 13 certainly is an 'interesting' age to pick, thinking about the law.

  3. Images 'may be' unsuitable for children under 13? May be? Is the subtext here 'may be if your parents are awful kink shaming pearl clutchers'.

Outofinspiration · 15/06/2019 20:09

I know right! Imagine being sneery about people promoting sexual imagery to kids... Hmm

Not surprised Alabanza is involved in this. Anything for attention with him.

youkiddingme · 15/06/2019 20:24

Oh very clever. Let people be up in arms that it's ok for 4 years olds. Then when the shit hits change it to 13 unless accompanied.
Look we listened, it's much better now.
If you take your under 13 it's your responsibilty now.
And your 13+ probably won't tell you they are going or will tell you it's just a nice inclusivity art thing they want to go to.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 15/06/2019 20:27

4) Images 'may be' unsuitable for children under 13? May be? Is the subtext here 'may be if your parents are awful kink shaming pearl clutchers'.

Yep.

Yeahnahyeah · 15/06/2019 20:37

They are going to try and spin this as an admin "oversight".
But it's all there in it's internetty glory.
