To think people need to stop viewing Boris Johnson as a loveable buffoon?

He's nasty and astute

He hangs around with horrible bigots who support eugenics, like Steve Bannon.

He cannot manage a day without having to publicly apologise for some dreadful remark he made.

He is even more likely to carry on heaping austerity on the sick and disabled than any other Tory leader.

When he was mayor he closed 10 fire stations in London.

He's dangerous and he doesn't give a fuck about anyone. I can't think of a worse proposition for PM.

I think to a large extent, most politicians are self serving megalomaniacs.

But not all of them would happily wreak havoc with the UK in the way Johnson would.

CORBYN IS NOT AN OPTION. UNDERSTAND? WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY

PulpHorn · 14/06/2019 14:37

Agreed, he's an awful man.

Has anyone got anything good to say about him (other than deflecting onto Corbyn?)

bellinisurge · 14/06/2019 14:42

Hate Boris. Hate Corbyn. I believe other options are available.

Zipee · 14/06/2019 14:44

I think Boris should have it.

Then his brexit lies can be shown up and he will be held accountable.

Maybe we need to leave to actually see what a fucking mess it is

DuckWillow · 14/06/2019 14:57

Look Gth just go start a fucking Brexit thread and be done with it, I couldn’t give a fuck anymore if we leave or stay. I STILL don’t want Boris in No10 not do I much fancy Corbyn .

If you are THAT hard of thinking that you consider anyone against Boris must be a rabid Remainer and pro Corbyn then I cannot be bothered to engage with you. Use the brain and the intelligence you were given and stop being so obtuse.

ginandbearit · 14/06/2019 14:59

Once he's in ..then what ? He will implode in the face of real scrutiny .....actually what scrutiny ? Who is there to take him on?
The supine and self absorbed Labour party ? A bunch of jokers facing the real Joker ..Boris has the potential to cause real damage to this country and as I believe him to be an ocean going coward he'll scuttle off to the States the minute he can divest himself of responsibility
he only wants to win the office, not do the job....he wants the wedding not the marriage ...hmm ..maybe not the best comparison for him ...

MrPan · 14/06/2019 15:16

It WILL blow up. In all our faces, and people will suffer.

But guarantee Johnson will not be held to account. They absolutely never are.

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/06/2019 15:21

Haven't RTFT but I remember someone on Have I Got News For You years ago saying, "he's read À la recherche du temps perdu in the original French, he's not thick". And that really stayed with me. He's lying about Europe, lying about who he is intrinsically, all to grab power. He's a dishonest, immoral, power-hungry snob.

bellabasset · 14/06/2019 15:23

Google his career and life on Wikipedia, I did that on the last Tory leadership elections. It makes interesting reading.

God help us if he gets in, just hoping there'll be tactical voting for him not to be elected.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/06/2019 15:33

Leavers are good shire-folk hobbits, contending valiantly with the dumb orc forces ranged against them

Ds2 is that you....you still have an exam to revise for

Crack on and stop going on mumsnet to wind mummy up

RussianSpamBot · 14/06/2019 15:43

He isnt guaranteed to become PM even if the Conservative membership are fool enough to vote vote for him, which they probably will be because fuckwit. Has to secure the confidence of the House of Commons first. In a minority party, with several Tory MPs who hate his guts, and the large majority of the opposition who do too. Not an easy thing to do.

ContinuityError · 14/06/2019 16:09

and that vote included a criminal labour MP

I think you’ll find it included a criminal Tory MP too.

Gth1234 · 14/06/2019 16:11

"Will there ever be a time when we get a PM who is competent, down to earth, has walked in the same shoes as the less privileged in society, who has the country's best interest at heart and is not in it for their own career advancement - somebody who genuinely intends to do some good and is competent enough to achieve that?"

in retrospect, Mrs Thatcher - destroyed by the braying mob, who preferred to let others pay their share of rates than contribute fully themselves. (Community Charge for you youngsters.).
Still hated by left-wingers everywhere, just like Trump, and anyone who Trump likes.

Shockers · 14/06/2019 16:18

I view him as a monstrous cunt.

MoominMantra · 14/06/2019 16:18

This isn't about 'Mrs Thatcher' or Jeremy Corbyn, or Brexit. HTH

OP posts:
MoominMantra · 14/06/2019 16:19

Like most sociopaths he also doesn't really care even about how he's perceived. So he's got no reason not to behave like a monster.

MrPan · 14/06/2019 16:21

Yep, we are emerging into a morality-poor, fact-free, fearful entity and Johnson is the poster boy.

PostNotInHaste · 14/06/2019 16:22

Johnson is a wanker, Corbyn is a wanker. I am a person. My DD who wasn’t old enough to have a say in the referendum is a person.

The longer this goes on the more entrenched people are getting. My 70 year old neighbour was saying today she has never seen things as bad as this. People are intent on seeing things in black and white that are shades of grey. It has to stop, it’s all completely out of hand is is absolutely going to fuck over a generation which includes a lot of the DC of MN posters.

It’s just all incredibly sad, but it is what it is and doesn’t look as if it’s going to change anytime soon. Rant over, back to watch the Walking Dead for some light relief.

and stop taking part in Eurovision. Another excuse for the EU to try to humiliate the UK

Even our bestest EU buddies Australia and Israel didn’t vote for us Smile

BollocksToBrexit · 14/06/2019 16:42

Corbyn is far worse.

Whose ribs did Corbyn conspire to have broken?

Which jobs did Corbyn get sacked from for lying?

bellinisurge · 14/06/2019 16:48

If we stopped being involved in Eurovision as a result of Brexit, that would bring me round to it. I hate Eurovision. I'm old and I've seen some right shit.
Other than that? Bolllocks to it. And Boris. He's a useless dickhead that I wouldn't trust with my dinner money.

Pa1oma · 14/06/2019 17:01

I know a lady who tells me Boris is dating a relative of hers. As she puts it, this woman wouid make Melania Trump look like a grandmother. The man is a philanderer in his personal life and seems to get away with it. Apparently he’s waiting to get the PM job before he reveals this girlfriend. He got his divorce out the way in a timely fashion. Everything he does is to further his career interests. Of all the people in the country, this is what we end up with.

MoominMantra · 14/06/2019 17:09

Vile, vile man.

Gth1234, do you actually believe that the EU has anything to do with the Eurovision song contest? Seriously? And that the brave Brexiters are like hobbits? I’d very much like to hear more of your thoughts on the world, and also whether you’re allowed to go to the shops on your own.
