AIBU to say that if you work in child protection you shouldn't post pictures of yourself wanking at work in fetish gear?

People do all kinds of things in their private life, and - as long as it's all consensual, and involving adults, in private - that's absolutely fine with me. Even if it involves fetish stuff that I find deeply unsexy. It's your private time and your business.

But if you bring your fetish into work, that's really inappropriate. Involving other people in your kink without their consent is not OK.

If you bring your fetish into work and take time to entertain yourself in the loos with it, that's way, way beyond really inappropriate.

If you work in child protection campaigning, and bring your fetish into work, and take time to entertain yourself in the loos with it, and take a photo of yourself while doing it, and upload that photo onto the internet, then you probably need to consider whether a career in child protection is really for you.

(And if you are doing this while working on campaigns about abused and neglected children, you should not be surprised when people ask what made you so aroused.)

And dear NSPCC - who I used to have a direct debit to, and who used to be in my will - people objecting to this are not being homophobic or "bullying". Many of who are objecting to your staff member's actions are ourselves gay. We just seem to have a better grasp of safeguarding than you do.

Here's the thing, we know that paedophiles and traffickers organise to get into mainstream organisations of influence such as the media, healthcare, education, IT and charities, in order to promote their agenda (making society a safe space for abusers).

Setting up your own charity, think-tank, lobby group etc., such as the prostate lover's foundation or whatever they're called, is one prong in the strategy. Getting into already established organisations and being in a position to effect policy change is another and much more effective, because those latter organisations already have the networks and influence and branding and trust, that a new organisation can't match.

NSPCC have changed the definition of child sexual abuse. They have at least 150 staff members, who look at a person who supports child exploitation (Desmond) and sees no problem with telling kids to contact an unknown adult on the internet directly and don't see any conflict with those attitudes and the protection of children.

I wonder if the NSPCC are reflecting on their recruitment and training processes at present.

CantspellWontspell · 16/06/2019 11:32

It legit give me The Horrors that the Prostasia lot can parade their pro-peadophile agenda with such ease and confidence.

I knew years ago that this agenda was coming for the children, I just didn’t bank on them gaining so much ground in so little time.

Protasis
DescriptionIn drama, a protasis is the introductory part of a play, usually its first act.

From Late Latin protasis, from Ancient Greek πρότασις (prótasis), from προτείνω (proteínō, “put forward, tender, propose”), from πρό (pró) + τείνω (teínō, “stretch”).

en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/protasis

I looked it up because it reminded me of ‘Progeria’, so I presumed it must be an reference: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progeria

SmileEachDay · 16/06/2019 11:52

Du

That’s chilling. The first act....

OrchidInTheSun · 16/06/2019 11:58

Prostasia means safety in Greek. I don't think it's related to Protasis at all

DuMondeB · 16/06/2019 11:59

Same etymology, no?

WeWantJustice · 16/06/2019 12:08

LOL it's unfortunate that the greek for safety is so closely related to prostate.

I would have found Safety in a different language if I were them.

WeWantJustice · 16/06/2019 12:09

Sorry I don't mean it's related to prostate. It just looks so close to it and immediately makes me think of prostates, not safety.

Outofinspiration · 16/06/2019 12:12

I would have found Safety in a different language if I were them.

Well, it's a bit like when they wanted to make that trans inclusive version of Tinder called... Kinder!

youkiddingme · 16/06/2019 16:12

Someone put a bit of a video up about it

WeWantJustice · 16/06/2019 16:13

Oh God. Kinder.

What a tangled web.

I've just read this brilliant article here.

It's just utterly brilliant. People should read it, seriously, it's brilliant.

NSPCC, Bergdorf, Owen Jones etc.

JAPAB · 17/06/2019 03:42

It is about only being allowed in the class if you state something that you believe, and science believes, is untrue.

He might not have been required to state or affirm anything. Just not to pursue an argument in a lesson. For all we know a polite 'agree to disagree' or 'can we discuss it afterwards' might not have seen his excklusion.

Going by that video I think they were both talking at cross purposes anyway. Teacher wants to recognise other gender expressions. Boy wants to say that there are only two biological sexes. Neither contradicts the other.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 17/06/2019 07:35

What does this video and the gender debate have to do with this individual wanking in work toilets?

Nothing. Nothing at all.
Please stop derailing.

R0wantrees · 17/06/2019 08:29

What does this video and the gender debate have to do with this individual wanking in work toilets?

Safeguarding women & children.

There are many indicators of systemic Safeguarding framework failures in the NSPCC.

WoLF article:

'BERGDORF, JONES, MAKINGS, AND THE RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT OF US ALL'

JUNE 15, 2019

[Adult content note.]
Decades ago, sensible gay men, bisexuals, lesbians, and feminists, and particularly the lesbian feminists, kicked the pedophile advocacy brigade out of the gay rights and sexual liberation movements because, although this is not known to be a direct quote, to hell with them. " (continues)

FlaviaAlbia · 17/06/2019 08:31

So, it's been nearly a week, the NSPCC had stuck to its bullying line and no papers have picked this up.

Can you imagine the face of the general public if they knew? Oxfam would be universally condemned if it was widely known.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 17/06/2019 08:40

I’m sure after the recent fishy charity’s privacy debacle this will get a mention.

R0wantrees · 17/06/2019 09:05

Professor Kathleen Stock,

"The constant Stonewall-mandated policing of language in Universities around gender identity contributes to a chilling environment for free academic thought. These are all from Stonewall training documents."

twitter.com/Docstockk/status/1140148804873871360

Policing of language by TRAs is systemic.
It has wide-ranging serious consequences.
Many women & males are saying no.

R0wantrees · 17/06/2019 09:06

apologies the post above was intended for another thread.

DuMondeB · 17/06/2019 09:30

Teen Vogue are now promoting sex work as work.

mobile.twitter.com/TeenVogue/status/1140372239537377280

Paedophilic full house.

ReanimatedSGB · 17/06/2019 21:57

Try reading the article before shitting yourself with rage, eh? It's sensible and humane; arguing for dignity, safety and respect for sex workers rather than yet more laws that make their lives more unpleasant and dangerous.

Eaudear · 17/06/2019 22:07

Try reading the article before shitting yourself with rage, eh? It's sensible and humane; arguing for dignity, safety and respect for sex workers rather than yet more laws that make their lives more unpleasant and dangerous.

Why is it in Teen Vogue?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 17/06/2019 22:08

And who reads teen vogue - that will the the 15-16-17-18 year olds eh? Nope- more likely the 12-14 year olds.

Datun · 17/06/2019 22:16

Try reading the article before shitting yourself with rage, eh?

"Why is it in Teen Vogue?"

The same Teen Vogue who wanted to teach 13 year old how to have anal sex.

Ugh.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 17/06/2019 22:18

Teen Vogue ran an article Anal Sex: What You Need to Know, promoting it to girls in their early teens.

The illustration that accompanied the piece was of anatomical cross sections of a male and female pelvis. The female one had a vagina and a rectum (obvs) but neither a vulva or a clitoris.

That's Teen Vogue in a nutshell. Grooming very young girls for sexual exploitation, teaching them to service men and to always prioritize male desires.

Datun · 17/06/2019 22:30

I honestly couldn't get through, it's vomit inducing.

Trying to sanitise selling women's bodies to satisfy men's orgasms.

The idea of purchasing intimacy and paying for the services can be affirming for many people who need human connection, friendship, and emotional support.

And the author saying, nauseatingly, that aren't they are a sex worker too, because they are a doctor and

I exchange payment in the form of money with people to provide them with advice and treatment for sex-related problems; therapy for sexual performance, counseling and therapy for relationship problems, and treatment of sexually transmitted infection. Isn't this basically sex work?

Ugh.
