To ask for your best crime dramas

stopitandtidyupp · 12/06/2019 19:58

In bed with a bad back. Bored and in pain so watching TV for distractions.

I love watching crime dramas. I don't mind stand alone episode stories but prefer watching stories that run over a few episodes. I really don't like anything super natural. Just a story with a mystery.

I feel like I have watched most of them but there must be some I have missed?

Am I unreasonable to ask for suggestions?

I have even watched a lot of European ones.

I mean dramas such as

The killing, The tunnel, Unforgotten, Baptiste and the missing, Cardinal,Guilt, Paranoid, Safe house, Absentia, Happy valley ,Luther, The sinner.

There must be some I have missed?

I think this thread is a crime drama in and of itself Shock

ASauvignonADay · 12/06/2019 21:15

Following!

positivity123 · 12/06/2019 21:19

Scott and Bailey is brilliant if you can get hold of it.

Happy Valley.

There are some great books called Jackson Brodie, I've just found out that there is a TV show called Cold Cases that is based on the books. If it's as good as the books it will be good.

faw2009 · 12/06/2019 21:19

Agree with:
The Wire
Prime Suspect
Trial & Retribution
True Detective

Also similar to Line of Duty - Between the Lines
Presume you've seen The Fall, Cracker

positivity123 · 12/06/2019 21:21

Sorry it's called Case Histories not Cold Cases

Oswin · 12/06/2019 21:23

The blacklist

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 12/06/2019 21:27

I came on to suggest all sorts of things as I love crime drama but this thread is just bonkers.

Has anyone suggested The Mentalist on Amazon Prime? Love love love it.

Awrite · 12/06/2019 21:35

I've just finished binging Wire in The Blood on Amazon.

Made 2002-2007, I'm reminiscing about boot cut jeans and Nokia phones though the ages.

Also, Robson Greene. Have fancied him since he was Geordie in Casualty.

Letthenamesbegin · 12/06/2019 21:35

If you have amazon prime they are reshowing a load of standalone drama/crime type things called “The Accused” think they were on bbc a few years ago but very good!

Awrite · 12/06/2019 21:36

Oh, I should probably add - he plays a Clinical Psychologist working with the police to catch serial killers..

Mythreefavouritethings · 12/06/2019 22:11

Middy Murders. Always.

BadLad · 13/06/2019 02:01

Cracker
Witnesses
Arne Dahl
All of Spirals, not just series 6
The Accused

BadLad · 13/06/2019 02:04

The Bridge isn't too bad as long as you can overlook the ludicrous main character acting like Mr. Bean joins the police, as she slaps unconscious victims awake so she can ask her questions and drives on top of the dead body as she arrives at the crime scene.

KC225 · 13/06/2019 06:13

Nobel - Norwegian
Border town - Finnish
LA Treve - Belgium
When Heroes Fly - Israeli
Bad Blood - Canadian

Get well soon

WhoatemyLindtbunny · 13/06/2019 06:23

The Tunnel - Amazing, it was on Sky 1 not sure where you can watch now but superb, several series as I remember

Sharp Objects - Sky Atlantic, dark AF and amazing ending

Luther

There’s a French one which was on BBC and I can’t remem the name, female lead, it was amazing, will try think.

supercee · 13/06/2019 06:26

@WhoatemyLindtbunny That's Spiral. Love it and next series is due soon.

WhoatemyLindtbunny · 13/06/2019 06:26

Oooh Dammages On All4 with Glenn Close, need to watch last series actually.

Clearoutre · 13/06/2019 07:27

Broadchurch is awesome - with Olivia Colman (aka Sarah Sinclair Shock!!)

longwayoff · 13/06/2019 07:32

First version of Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren. None of the subsequent ones though and certainly not the recent 'remake', awful. All Line of Duty, watch them in order. Unforgotten is ok. There's always Luther if you're desperate.

Sockworkshop · 13/06/2019 08:23

There are 10 series of Spiral if you have Amazon Prime .
Absolutely brilliant
Not sure if Modus is still available -also brilliant

SavageBeauty73 · 13/06/2019 09:09

@Letthenamesbegin I've just finished The Accused. So good!
