Am I being unreasonable to think that if a man has BO and doesn’t have a particularly physical job that it’s because he hasn’t washed and used a deodorant? And if he hasn’t washed his armpits then he hasn’t washed his penis? It just occurred to me the other day. I don’t mind a bit of BO if you’re in very very close range but when it smells from a few metres away, how clean are those penises?

Shock

Unless it's coming anywhere near me, I can't say I've ever wondered for a second about the hygiene rating of a strangers noodle.

I guess, technically, you're probably right, but... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anarchyshake · 12/06/2019 20:05

I really am so confused.

Genuinely.

But if I'm giving people a laugh, that makes me smile.

Does anyone know what people like me who sweat a lot (so badly I overheat quickly and have windows cracked open over winter here in the UK) and who smell, can do - is there something a GP can do? I have been on various antidepressants and other medicines since my late teens but I was always kind of icky. I was very active, but my paternal aunt is very similar, has potent BO (she told me to use mitchum deodorants).

If anyone knows, link my full name with the @ and I'll get an email to come back here.

Just to add, my eldest is following in my footsteps and has to wash her pits in the day as well as shower. She is nearly 12. Is there hope for us!

EmeraldShamrock · 12/06/2019 20:09

@Anarchyshake Botox might be the answer you are looking for, I am not sure if it is covered by the NHS.
It is used for lots of things these days, you'll have wrinkle and sweat free armpits.

islanderin · 12/06/2019 20:38

Sweetheart. I don't think any of us should smell. #OP and nor be afraid of a shower/bath.

Holy fucking shit I just actually dry heaved

Anarchyshake · 12/06/2019 20:41

Cheers @MumOfBoys12345
I think that stops you releasing sweat, my MIL can't because of some issue. But it also means fluid collects in her legs and they're swollen worse than a dog's face after it eats a bee.

I'll google it and see if I think it's possible and will ask my gp about it. Thanks :)

And the award for the most pointless post goes to....

Chillijamntuna · 12/06/2019 21:05

how clean are those penises? Grin
that line has won the internet tonight! I'm laughing out loud after a very heavy and serious day! Thanks OP

carrotflinger · 12/06/2019 21:19

My ex had BO but he had a clean penis (thank goodness). His problem was caused by not using anti-perspirant (or deodorant) and not putting clean shirts on every day. He would shower most days and wash properly but would then put an old shirt on.
I think if you put clothes back on which have dried sweat on them (even if they don't smell that bad on a sniff test) the second a drop of fresh sweat touches them, they start emitting the most Godawful smell possible.
I managed to get ex to start changing clothes daily before he then fucked off. He's turned up recently (after 6 months of non-contact) a couple of times - both times stinking of BO. Unwashed clothes situation again.
Thank god he is an ex.

Fowles94 · 12/06/2019 21:35

If only be concerned of a health issue really.

Lilymossflower · 12/06/2019 21:37

@Anarchyshake

Essential oils in the answer. Shake them onto your hair, your clothes, wherever you go people will compliment your beautiful floral scent and not notice anything else

tolerable · 12/06/2019 21:47

@anarchyshake. i used to get exema(result of overly perfumed antiperspirant.i was restricted to non perfumed soaps etc and when i gurned at gp and said id rather itch than smell he told me to use bicarb of soda..if you mix it with a little water it goes like a paste.a little more its runny and gloopy..rub on without it being gritty and rinse off. i guess he mighta just said that to shut me up.i didnt smell tho. also sure now does 24 solid stick anti perspirant which are far better than mitchum i think.mitchum gives me an incredibly sore head.

winniestone37 · 12/06/2019 21:49

Er this is a very odd post. My two pence is that sometimes my partner has an armpit fug but his shlong smells and tastes clean and divine - Grin I have no idea why you are contemplating this, your concerns worry me more than anyone's BO.

Catsinthecupboard · 12/06/2019 21:53

My young adult son hates deodorant.
He works outside and gets sweaty. Works out in gym. Same.

But takes a couple showers/day; after gym, etc.

NO idea about down below but assuming since he showers frequently, he may be sweaty upstairs but below it's not disgusting.

CorBlimeyGovenor · 12/06/2019 21:59

There's only one way to find out. You need to go on an undercover mission and report back. My bet is on him having Organzola*

  • a particularly pungent form of knob cheese.
Nevertoomuch22 · 12/06/2019 22:00

AIBU to wonder why my friend puts up with having to pick up her husband's spunk stained underwear and or socks on a daily basis off the bedroom floor and put in the laundry! Wtf I would be fuming, but she just thinks it's normal. I would be also wondering what sort of stuff he is addicted to and would feel betrayed. Never have i heard of this very weird behaviour before , am I missing something or over thinking it. Thoughts plz

Laiste · 12/06/2019 22:05

''spunk stained socks'' ? Confused

i ...... have no words.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 12/06/2019 22:08

Really, really wish I hadn't opened this thread Envy(not envy)

Hadenoughofitall441 · 12/06/2019 22:29

What a strange thing to think about.... unless of course you were thinking about his penis 😂

Laurajjj · 12/06/2019 22:34

His penis will get smelly if he wanks a lot and doesn't clean himself properly after.

OldAndWornOut · 12/06/2019 22:36

I seem to remember in the dim and distant past what might be occurring in random mens trouser department, but now I never give it a thought.

alltoomuchrightnow · 12/06/2019 22:50

Answer me this one then... why did this guy not stink?
I was seeing a guy who was quite well endowed, and his foreskin was completely covering his dick, (like a bottle over it, with just one hole in the tip) I mean it could not be retracted at all so you could not see any of the tip. He just had space to pee and ejaculate through the hole. Even when he was hard the foreskin went right over the end, it did not budge. So I first approached it with some trepidation. Surprisingly, it was completely clean (as far as could see) and just smelt /tasted of shower gel. How is that possible? How was there no build up underneath? He was in his 30s. (and no, he could not retract it at all, I asked) and no it wasn't sore. If he could never clean under it, how did it stay clean and uninfected?
Yet compare that to my first ever boyfriend... who loved long bubble baths and jacuzzis (well it was the 80s) yet always stunk and had bad smegma. I worked out why when I shared a bath with him. He'd never actually wash, he'd just soak. But how was he so grubby compared to the guy who couldn't even get under his foreskin? This first BF just smelt of bubblebath or shower gel, AND smegma... I would heave.. the blow job situation really didn't last long before I totally gave up. He had a permanent nose infection and refused to believe he stunk...,,he'd get annoyed and tell me he was so nice and clean from having a long bath...

Justaboy · 12/06/2019 22:53

Yes well its either those items of the sheets that will get a shade damp and stained.

Messy old business his masterdebation for men - women on the other hand are less messy;!
