To think it's disgusting to not wash your feet/legs?

I keep seeing posts on twitter about the amount of people who apparently don't wash their legs or feet in the shower (there was a picture that's been circulating of all the parts of your body colour coded into what should be scrubbed thouroughly, what should be less intensely washed etc). AIBU to think not washing your legs and feet in the shower is just really unpleasant? It takes ten seconds maximum, why would anyone deliberately not do it?

I don't think I'd go so far as to say it's disgusting but I don't understand it myself - do none of these people ver get sweaty behind the knees??

I wash everything everyday and am very content.

Cornettoninja · 10/06/2019 18:03

Not something I can get excited about given that both areas will have copious amounts of contact with soap and water.

Barely a flicker on my disgusting’o’meter.

dementedpixie · 10/06/2019 18:05

Surely the soap and water will travel down the legs cleaning as it goes. Can't get worked up about it

Bluntness100 · 10/06/2019 18:06

Oh good another thread on this.

Can't get worked up about it. Sigh.

SisterMaryLoquacious · 10/06/2019 18:07

I can’t say I’ve ever had sweaty knees. Feet yes, so I do wash them specifically but even if I didn’t they’d get lots of water and soap on them: ditto legs.

pastaparadise · 10/06/2019 18:07

I dont bother unless there's visible grime eg been wearing flip flops. No ill effects, everything looks clean when i get out of the shower so clearly gets washed by running water. What exactly are you worried would happen without scrubbing??

mumofwantwomany · 10/06/2019 18:07

Surely not washing your feet properly leads to fungal infections and stuff? At least thats what I've always been told.

OP posts:
Bringonspring · 10/06/2019 18:08

Yeah but I think the same about shaving your legs each day...plenty of people can’t be bothered though

Each to their own

Cornettoninja · 10/06/2019 18:09

I think not drying your feet properly and cutting toenails is more of an issue for fungal infections.

Lazypuppy · 10/06/2019 18:10

My feet get washed pretty sufficiently by standing in the shower and all the water that gathers. Combined with all the soap.

I only really 'wash' my feet if i know they are dirty cause i've been outside baregoot or something.

I only physically wash my legs when i shave

LadySainsburySeal · 10/06/2019 18:11

My grandad used to bath every year, on his birthday. Whether he needed to or not. Wink

lovelylondonsky · 10/06/2019 18:11

I don't specifically wash my feet, they get clean from standing in the shower. They don't smell and have never had any kind of infection or problem with them

WindsweptEgret · 10/06/2019 18:12

I don't think I've ever had sweaty knees . I do wash my feet but not my legs or arms.

Dropitlikeitshot · 10/06/2019 18:12

I wash my legs when I shave them, otherwise they just get a generous amount of water and soap/shampoo suds when I wash my top half.
Thinking about it I don’t wash my forearms unless necessary either, they don’t tend to sweat I don’t think.
I wash my hands, underarms and feet though.
Strange isn’t it how areas are just missed yet still clean?

Duster12 · 10/06/2019 18:12

Some nasty ass people about. These will be the same who preach ecstatic about how much cleaner showers are 😂🤢

mumofwantwomany · 10/06/2019 18:12

I get my legs waxed now because I hate having hairy legs and I couldn't be arsed with the hassle of shaving every day

TooDamnSarky · 10/06/2019 18:14

I think it depends on your shower.
Our home shower is super powerful and there is loads of water gushing about - so I don't feel the need to wash my legs.
But when I'm using a puny trickle shower then they wouldn't get clean without a bit of effort.

mumofwantwomany · 10/06/2019 18:14

surely showers are cleaner? As opposed to sitting in your own filth ie baths

OP posts:
WindsweptEgret · 10/06/2019 18:15

I don't shave my legs everyday., about twice a week in summer.

FabulouslyGlamourosFerret · 10/06/2019 18:15

This! I'd save 'disgusting' for something far worse 🤣

Duster12 · 10/06/2019 18:15

Not so clean really if you don't actually wash when you're in there. You're supposed to clean yourself, not just stand there 😂

BarbarianMum · 10/06/2019 18:17

Never specifically washed my legs and my feet only in extremely hot weather (I do shower every day). Never had any problems with either.

Maybe your feet are just naturally disgusting OP?

SerenDippitty · 10/06/2019 18:17

I scrub myself thoroughly with domestos and a Brillo pad. Only way I can be sure of getting all the filth off.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 10/06/2019 18:17

Yy re disgusting-ometer. I mean you have nowhere to go if eg your baby has diarrhoea in the bath. You need re-calibrating

Pgqio · 10/06/2019 18:17

A version of this thread turns up every few months so it clearly means something to someone. Not me though, how can you be bothered to be bothered?
