Friend giving me a lift aibu?

I can drive but at the moment I haven't got a car.
My friend passed her test 7 months ago and started inviting me for tea and she was very enthusiastic about driving.
3 times we've gone to a friends house (she's drove,20 mins each way ) I've have her £10 petrol money each time.
Last week she invited me for tea,she drove to mine.
I said leave the car and we will walk into town and she said no I don't mind driving.
Sunday we are going away for the weekend and she wanted to stay at mine the night before ,then drive us to train station next day,so she didn't have to rush over the morning or going away.
I said of course but my boyfriend will be here but the spare room will be made up with new sheets etc.
She said no I won't stay if your boyfriend is here, tell him not to come over or you will have to get to the coach station on your own (45 min drive )
I said I didn't want to do that.
Then she started throwing in my face the fact she's drove us places lately.
Just because I don't have a car doesn't mean I don't do her favours.
I will go to town for her if she needs things,I walked to kfc to get her food.
I've lent her over £300 8 months ago and she hasn't paid a penny.
Got her a new outfit for her birthday night out.
Here she is having the cheek to say to me "I'm not a taxi"
I never think she is,she takes me somewhere once in a blue moon and always for tea or friends (where she's going )
Aibu here ?

What a horrid woman. Get rid. Now.

Bluerussian · 12/06/2019 00:47

Sounds to me as if you've done her a helluva lot more favours than she has returned. Friends like that you do not need. However, she may apologise, people do overreact sometimes and regret it later. If she does, it's up to you how you proceed - but don't take that unwarranted stick from her ever again.

BlackPrism · 12/06/2019 01:24

£10 for 20 mins? It took £12 petrol to drive 2 hours in my fiat! She wants your cash mate

EileenAlanna · 12/06/2019 02:33

I'd comment on her FB posts re the trip that you're really looking forward to it & can she repay the £290 she still owes before you all go you as otherwise you'll be too low on spending money & don't want to have to watch the pennies while you're there to enjoy yourself. You still probably won't get it but at least you'll go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

MyOpinionIsValid · 12/06/2019 02:35

So, she asks you out (for tea/to a mates)
You say yes, and pay for the petrol &/or the meal out

Why?

I seriously cant get my head round this at all.

She isnt your friend. I've never one for a dramatic cutting off, but go low contact and freeze out.

fuzzyduck1 · 12/06/2019 02:39

She doesn’t want to stay if you boyfriend is there ? I think she fancies you.

BlackCatSleeping · 12/06/2019 03:31

I agree there are two issues here. One, she’s not a very nice person and she’s using you for money, but, two, why are you letting people treat you so badly? You sound like a nice person. You deserve to be treated with respect. Flowers

BenWillbondsPants · 12/06/2019 03:38

Don't go away with her.

Tell her you expect your money back then that's it. Absolutely no more contact. She's a cow.

PregnantOnPurpose · 12/06/2019 04:09

You've organised the trip right? Dont go with her, or dont go at all. I know it's probably a cut waste and cutting your nose off to apote your face but I would bloody love for her to come grovelling after you send a very bland and short text

"Hi X, I've cancelled our Lodndon trip. The money you paid can go towards the £300 you owe me from the last trip I paid for so dont expect any money from me. Thanks"

AliceRR · 12/06/2019 09:46

I'd comment on her FB posts re the trip that you're really looking forward to it & can she repay the £290 she still owes before you all go you as otherwise you'll be too low on spending money & don't want to have to watch the pennies while you're there to enjoy yourself.

Is this how people deal with things - by plastering their business on Facebook for all to see?

Personally I wouldn’t be comfortable with that OP. Your friend could delete the comment, retaliate or even just say she’ll pay (on a public form) but then not do so.

You could be straight with her though maybe in a text as others have said. It depends what you want to achieve.

BenWillbondsPants · 12/06/2019 11:34

I would normally suggested face to face with something like this, but when it comes to money etc a paper trail might be good. I would message her.

BumbleBeee69 · 22/06/2019 18:04

Did you kick this arse into touch OP and cut ties Flowers

Baddabingbaddaboom · 22/06/2019 18:32

I drive my SIL out to places and home again all the time. I wouldn't ask for a penny from her and never have done. If I didn't want to drive her anywhere I wouldn't offer.
As to the £300 and remarks, well, your 'friend' is well out of order.
