I've made a really bad judgement call this morning...

So... The kitten peed on the child's beanbag.
I couldn't get the smell out so I decided that emptying the inside sack (because they all have sacks right!?) and washing the cover in the machine was the way to go...

When I opened the beanbag, I was confronted with a torrent of loose beans..
So I proceed to fetch a bin bag, when I return (from 3 steps over in a cupboard), said kitten is INSIDE THE BLOODY BEANBAG!!

Still keeping my cool I thought... Yeah if I suck them up in the hoover extension I can just tip them into the bin bag...

Now my vac is broken, there's beans everywhere and I want to burn the house down so I don't get found out!

On the upside, the kitten is loving it Hmm

Aww little tiny kitten!

giddyyup · 06/06/2019 11:11

Good luck as those balls get everywhere and stick to the Hoover!

Feel your pain

Baddabingbaddaboom · 06/06/2019 11:12

I'm trying to dustpan them up now.. With 2 mental cats keeping me company Blush

Oh my! Did the balls break the hoover?

Just buy a new one! (Bean bag, not hoover. Or maybe both?)

SquishySquirmy · 06/06/2019 11:15

Is hoover fixable?
This isy method for clearing up spilled bean bags: Stick an old pair of tights over the hoover nozzle, and HOLD IT IN PlACE.
Turn on hoover. Suck beans into tight leg. Switch off hoover. Empty beans from tight leg into appropriate container. Repeat until all/most beans collected. Smile

Mysterybox · 06/06/2019 11:16

Damp kitchen roll, scoop them up and bin them? Less static, unless you want to keep them, in which case carry on with the dustpan.

Baddabingbaddaboom · 06/06/2019 11:16

The balls broke the hoover...

Thing is

I did almost the same thing with lentils a couple of years ago and broke the hoover then too.

I think I'll stick to a broom in future Grin

Oh dear! I feel your pain as DS will do this with a beanbag any chance he gets. They are an absolute nightmare to get up. A brush works on hard floors but not carpet, for carpet the best way I’ve found is to use a dustpan (not the brush) to push them into a corner and then scoop up. Only use the hoover to pick up the remainders as it won’t cope with the whole lot!

Good luck, and expect to be finding the little balls all over the house for the next few weeks!

Baddabingbaddaboom · 06/06/2019 11:17

Those are amazing tips thank you!

I’m sorry OP but that has made me laugh. Which hurt. As I have just pulled something in my back picking stuff up of the floor in DS’s bedroom. Which is a pigsty as he is in midst of A Levels and apparently doesn’t have time to pick the rubbish up off the floor. So I felt sorry for him and decided I would do it. I’m now deep breathing on the sofa.

I stripped the bed before tweaking my back so will have to get DH to put the stuff in to wash and remake the bed.

S1naidSucks · 06/06/2019 11:19

Make a note of today’s date, OP, so you can celebrate the beans anniversary, because you’ll still be finding them a year from now! 🤣

Kitten. 🥰

My two are 18 & 19 now. Old fur balls.

pollysproggle · 06/06/2019 11:21

Arrrgh what a disaster!
Good luck with cleaning it but it'll probably happen again so I'd suggest chucking it or making sure it's in a room where the kitten doesn't go.
My cats used to pee on mine all the time even the faux leather one leaving a pool of piss so I got rid. The beans must feel like litter.

Bean bags and cats don't go!

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 06/06/2019 11:22

wahahaahahah as someone who has dealt with bean bag beads, I feel your pain!

Oh and the problem with brooms is all the balls go static and you can't wipe them off!

CassianAndor · 06/06/2019 11:25

more photos of the kitten please!

(you buggered your beanbag up right enough, op)

Pugpigprick · 06/06/2019 11:26

BuildBuildings · 06/06/2019 11:26

CassianAndor · 06/06/2019 11:29

spanishwife · 06/06/2019 11:30

Bin it and get on amazon for a new hoover and beanbag!

S1naidSucks · 06/06/2019 11:33
